Here is a better video of the expedition - but can't interpret it since I do not have that spiritual gift - bwink

So does this evidence suggest to you that the ark was actually found?

If so - how does it help? What is gained by evidence?

It is exciting to me, but you have to know that those who don't want to believe will not care one whit about this evidence, and those who do believe don't need this evidence.

Sadly I have to agree Karl.

It's not that I don't "believe" but I do ask "Is this evidence?" I have wondered why we speak of as "fact" that the Ark must be somewhere on this mountain in Turkey. I don't think we really know that for sure.

Well I do know what you mean, but at the same time, they've been talking that the Ark is up on that mountain for many years, but no one has ever been able to get up there. But again is this really good evidence! Does God really need this? or To show that the Bible is pretty accurite? Actually I'm not sure that finding the Ark will open people's eyes, because we've had many archeogolgy (sp) findings lately that proof the Bible to be pretty much right on, but yet we have many non-SDAs that are still not impressed and many SDAs (and even on this forum) that are still skeptacle (sp).

I'm sure that if they actually do find it, and if they can prove it; that many would look at the Ark as being "magic" and then we would see pilrimmages to the Ark every year. It would be a great tourist attraction and bring in many dollars.

And I agree; God doesnt need such "evidence" to "prove" His Word.

I agree with those who have said it would be great if this pans out. In John 9 and John 15 Christ makes the statement that the light given - makes people accountable.

In John 15 He says that if He had not come and said and done the things that He did - they would not have sin.

With added light - comes added blessing - and also added responsibility.

That is one reason for the latter rain.

This just in--the pictures of the Ark is a hoax says one of the group who confessed to the hoax.

Hint Rich - that is the point where you are supposed to provide "some evidence" of the claim so that the readers can evaluate it for themselves.

You probably already knew that - but just in case.

Sorry Bob, I should have said that the update came from AOL news

Maybe it is just the builder in me but let's think about it. The entire world is wiped out by a flood. Noah has a ship built out of fine lumber. Is he just going to abandon it? Isn't it likely that he would have disassembled the ark and used it to build homes and animal shelters? If not, a wooden structure left by itself would have rotted away.

Do you guys believe the ark will eventually be found?

(note that in posting the link above I'm not definitely endorsing the idea that this is a hoax: it's a matter of 'wait and see'...)

Shane, you make a good point. However, I am sure there were lots of drift wood lying around and it would have been easier to use this than the ark.

Yes, I would love to have the ark found and it may happen. I was disappointed about the news on this.

yesterday for some reason i felt i needed to find out whether ron wyatt was a fraud, or whether he was genuine. I got terribly angry because he didn t back up his claims with solid evidence. The next thing that came to my mind when i was studying his claims was this; if he is a scam while he seems so sincere, then maybe Ellen white was a scam too. I mean, if the SDA church is truly God s remnant church, then why would he allow liars to be part of his community? after all isn t Christ himself the one who is in control of his church?

Now i just saw these news claims that Noah s ark have been found. I don t know how to relate these findings with the claims of ron Wyatt. I hope some of you can help me out here. Do you think it was a coincidence that i felt the need to study Ron wyatt at the exact day the news of the discovery came out? Or is God trying to tell me something?

please can somebody tell me whether these discoveries were made on the exact same spot that Ron Wyatt claimed Noah s ark was? if it is, maybe we should give Ron some credit. If it isn t well then maybe we as a church should distance ourself from his claims.

I seem to recall a report that asked that very question and concludes that this is not the same spot that Ron Wyatt selected. However just because Wyatt made an incorrect guess does not make him a scam artist, it simply means that a certain set of evidence led him to conclude in favor of the ark - where he may have been mistaken.

You would need more evidence to know if he was actually lying.

indeed lots of questions - lots of puzzle still left in this picture.

For example in the case of the hoax claim article - we also have lots of questions unnanswered such as --

The article says that some people hauled wood in a truck - to a site on a glacier that cannot be accessed by truck.

It says that they put pieces of wood where they could be photographed by an earlier expedition - that certainly is possible.

The hoax claiming article said that the video in that link I gave above is legit - it is from the real exploration of the supposed ark by the Turkish and Chinese team. In that video we see a lot of wood encased in glacial ice. We see wood beams exposed in the open space and running right into the glacial ice.

We see entire rooms built of large wooden beams within a larger structure that is still encased in glacial ice - supposedly carried there by dedicated "hoaxers" at the apparent risk of life and limb with beams long enough to have risked serious injury for anyone doing that not-so-handy little project. Even in the hoax-claiming article it is stated that the people going there and seeing the site are genuinely overwhelmingly convinced that this is legit.

The wood had to all be very old and had to be assembled without using nails etc.

We have other claims in that video by people who claimed to have seen the ark in essentially the same location more than 40 years ago.

The claim for "hoax" is being made by someone that admits to not going to the site and seeing the wooden rooms thus explored. The hoax claim is made by someone who said they loaned 100,000 to the expedition but did not get their money back - so "motive" is pretty easy to unmask.

I am not saying this is not a hoax in some way - just that critical thinking points out a lot of flaws in what that guy is claiming such that it is a leap of faith either way you want to go.

Well, all I can say about this whole subject is that "a picture is worth a thousand words." In the case of this picture; what would some of those thousand words actually say? Would any of those words be in disagreement with the Bible?

I think that this discovery is very cool and I hope it's the real ark, but only time and more research will tell...

I don't think it's inconceivable that a structure that survived a global flood could survive for a few thousand years covered in snow and ice.

In one of the pics there is straw. I don t think straw is able to last for a couple of thousand years:P. But maybe the straw was put there as decoration? Still lots of unanswered questions. But i am very negative about man s nature, so i think it is a scam.

Often i think that i am the only one who is sincere and the rest of the world is lying. Then i start thinking that Ellen white was a scam, and yes, even the reformers were a scam. It s just unimaginable to me that there are actually sincere people in the world.

Sometimes i even think that all adventists don t really believe there religion and everyone is aware of that except me! I geuss either i am paranoid, or i am realistic.

I think Ron Wyatt was definitely a scam. I don't think that has any relation to Ellen White whatsoever. Wyatt isn't the only scam artist to have belonged to the Adventist church. Ellen White's legacy points us to our crucified Savior for the hope of salvation. That in itself is the greatest evidence that she was the real deal.

As I replied earlier on this subject, I almost went with Ron to dive and search for artifacts, but I did not have the money to do this. I investigated Ron and like you truthseeker007, I found Ron to be a good salesman and a scam artist.

After researching and studying all of EGW's books, I also found her to have the same type of problems that Ron had, namely not supporting her visions with solid evidence from the bible. Take the Ballinger case for instance--she could NOT give ONE text in scripture to support her vision on the Investigative Judgment. Her letter back to Ballinger is something you should read for yourself. Just because she has a 'legacy' does not make everything she said about her visions correct. Neither does time make a lie into the truth.

The supernatural events that surrounded Ellen White convince me that she was either a genuine prophet or a false prophet. She was not merely a confused but kind lady. The fact that her written works, and the life she lived, point people to Christ crucified as the Savior of the world and salvation by grace through faith is what convinces me she was genuine. That is not to say I believe she didn't make mistakes, even in her writing. She may have even misunderstood some visions she was given. I don't hold her writings on the same level as Scripture and am quite sure she didn't intend for them to be.
