"I want my country back" = smokescreen for racism

Never quite understood the phrase,'take our country back' and its derivities as the last time I checked no one had taken it away!

I've heard that term, "take our country back" for years, from different groups, for different reasons. There's nothing new about it. Like Woody said, it's about the direction the country has been taken, mainly in loss of freedom. President Obama's policies are certainly going farther along that route. Any time government grows, we lose.

Couldn't disagree more. The beauty of a flower arrangement comes from the ability to see and distinguish colors. The beauty of any society is ability to see and value it's diversity.

However it might be important to remember that the races derived from the Tower of Babel, an effort to defeat God's purposes.

Actually the ordering is frequently changed up. It seems that our bias is hard-wired in our brains, or as some suggest it is "soft"ware, programed in by inculturation. The same bias is also demonstrated ironically among many African Americans, sort of an inferiority complex.

I perceive this the other way, LHC. The Babel builders were striving for homogeneity. God was the one that introduced the tribalization in order to break up their homogeneity.

Interesting you should say this Liz, when I got drafted and was stationed in germany I bought a reel to reel tape deck, it was a Akai, which used to be a Roberts. I remember thinking that before long all our electronics companies will all belong or be bought out by the Japanese. I believe that we only have one or two companies left the rest are all Asian now. They obviously bought us out, pretty interesting I'd say.

Liz, This is maybe not so far off subject. I listened to a radio interview not too long ago with the writer of a book who claimed that the most racist people in the world were not of white European descent.
