Moderators lazarus Posted June 9, 2010 Moderators Posted June 9, 2010 Why would the Rush Limbaugh have Elton John perform at his wedding? olger Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 It is puzzling, Laz. But perhaps he likes his music, or developed a taste for it when EJ was straight.. I want to go on record saying that I did not recommend a fourth marriage for RL. og off Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Maybe the 4th time is the charm. I don't think I wold run to the altar with someone that is on number 4.I know several that are on their 3rd or 4th marriage and from the length of the marriages it looks like they finally figured it out.Two have been married over 20 years and are still going strong Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. bonnie Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 In God's eyes, he is still married to number one. og You have no way of knowing that unless you know the circumstances of the marriage breakups. God doesn't recognize divorce. Jesus said that was an invention of Moses because people were stubborn and hard-headed. Divorce is just another form of legalism. I know from reading many of your posts you are not the type of person to make statements you can't back up Almost identical judgments were passed when he chose Clarence Thomas to marry him and his previous wife. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted June 9, 2010 Administrators Posted June 9, 2010 ...Wonder how God sees those that make a judgment call on someone else without knowing the facts? You mean like when olger opined that "In God's eyes, he is still married to number one"? Or when you said "I don't think legalists will be given eternal life"? olger Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hi Bonnie. "Still Married in God's Sight, Although Divorced.-- A woman may be legally divorced from her husband by the laws of the land and yet not divorced in the sight of God and according to the higher law. There is only one sin, which is adultery, which can place the husband or wife in a position where they can be free from the marriage vow in the sight of God. Although the laws of the land may grant a divorce, yet they are husband and wife still in the Bible light, according to the laws of God." {AH 344.2} Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
bonnie Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Hi Bonnie. Although the laws of the land may grant a divorce, yet they are husband and wife still in the Bible light, according to the laws of God." {AH 344.2} There was time it appeared you thought I was badly lacking in knowledge of biblical instruction.I thought we had gotten past that. I think I have probably been married longer than most on this forum and to the same man since I was seventeen.Last March it was 48 years. In those years I have read Adventist Home many times, but I would guess that Rush Limbaugh has not. Altho he many times shares a deep belief in God that does not mean he is living with the same knowledge we are.In addition I know nothing of the circumstances and don't really care.I am clueless as to what standard God will hold him to at any given time. Most religions are not opposed to divorce.I don't think they are for it in the sense of encouraging it,but it is pretty much left to the individual. Not really any different than many other beliefs. We have some wonderful christian neighbors, they mow the lawn, work on their cars etc as I am getting ready for church. It is just kind of interesting as you go from forum to forum and see how "opinions" change with the topic.Either the topic starter or the topic itself. Do I know that Rush feels that gays are only for entertaiment and to ridicule? Never have heard anything that would make that assumption. Even if it were so,didn't we just go thru a topic about ridiculing someone in public.Even if the likelihood of the party involved was reading it was slim to none? Personally I don't believe Rush would care what was said here.Really just would like someone to explain to me when we ridicule, who, when we pass judgment and on who? How much could we care that he brought Elton John in for music at his wedding. Is it the amount of money he could afford to pay? Maybe a little jealousy maybe that he is in a position to do that? Or is it the hatred concerning his ideology? To me that sounded very much that we needed to be careful. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted June 9, 2010 Members Posted June 9, 2010 Interesting to see how many people seem to know what God thinks about other people. Quote Pam      Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. bonnie Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Interesting to see how many people seem to know what God thinks about other people.
