If we deny it, we might jeopordize the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, and if we allow it we move a step closer to Sharia Law. ....................og I believe its a tough call. The problem I see and its not Sharia Law, that's not going to happen. If this actually happens, and I think it will, those that are against the USA will be jumping up and down in the streets of all the countries that hate us. The other problem I see, as has happen in England, Germany and a few other countries around the world, is things will be fine in the beginning but than they will start recruiting the bad elements of Islam. I believe that all in all the ones that are trying to do this center are probably on the level, but even that is suspect right now in my opinion. olger Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 My friend Wade told me that wherever there is a Jihad victory for Islam they build (erect) a Mosque on the site to commemorate the victory. I dislike that sort of thing, infidel og Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
SivartM Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 What is his source for this information? It seems unlikely that the Muslims building this center are connected to terrorist Muslims. It does say a lot about those building it when they have chosen 9/11/11 for opening day. That is about as in your face as you can get. While not illegal it shows a inconsideration for the feelings of those who lost family on that day I believe Sharia Law is something they hope to obtain along with the building. Dr. Shane Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 People need to get over their paranoia; these people are not the terrorists. I am not worried about them being terrorists at all. Members phkrause Posted July 17, 2010 Members Posted July 17, 2010 So do you think that the center should not be build, pkrause? Should we not build churches because Christianity's bad elements might make their way into them? Well let me ask you a question, does Christianity have bad elements like terrorist's right now throughout the world? I know that if we had the crusades today I would definitely say no it should not be built. We need to look at this in the context of what is in front of us right now! The other thing is this center could be built in many other places, right? or am I wrong? I know its been a number of years now since the attack on the towers! But this is exactly what the terrorist do, they wait a number of years as things cool down or are forgotten. Don't forget that in '93 they tried doing this, and almost succeeded than. Than they waited and bided there time. So I do have a problem with them building a center in that area. SivartM Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 They could have built it somewhere else, but that sort of avoids the whole "healing" aspect of it. SivartM Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 What makes you think that these people are our enemies? I guess nobody is "innocent until proven guilty". The fact they have chosen 9/11 as opening day says all it needs to say.Out of 364 other days they could have chosen it is going to be 9/11. Members phkrause Posted July 17, 2010 Members Posted July 17, 2010 Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I'd agree with that if they wanted to build a center uptown or in Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn or Staten Island but not where its being planned for. The other places are close enough. :) Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
SivartM Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 If you don't like it, don't go there, but if I ever go to NYC I'd like to visit there. I think the date and location are very good ideas. It's intended to contrast those who killed with those who want to heal. where did you come up with that intent? Did you have any friends or family get killed in the 9/11 attacks on America? I did. I think the date and location are very good ideas. It's intended to contrast those who killed with those who want to heal. Obviously many people don't get it (or don't want to). I used to live in NYC, and I visited the Twin Towers many times. When I drive through or past now it saddens me to see them gone. They were so much what NY was about. Eventually people will get used to the fact that they are no longer there. But those that lost loved ones there will never forget. I do hope and pray that they will forgive, but just because you forgive doesn't mean you have to forget what was done. And it has nothing to do with liking or not liking. Besides I never said that I didn't like it I just gave you my opinion on the situation. And I'll say it again, there are other places to build period. And besides its my favorite city to go to, why would I not go there. Many great memories of the greatest city in the world. Members abelisle Posted July 17, 2010 Members Posted July 17, 2010 I live in NYC. I have friends who were killed there. I have Muslim friends. They could build it here in the Bronx where I live, I wouldn't care. My trust is in the Lord. I say we should befriend them, love them and show them the real Jesus through our interactions with them. Who are we to judge their motives? "Judge not lest ye be judged." Is their opening date probably not wise? I agree but as Christians we sound exactly like the secular mindset we can read in the newspaper's editorial comments sections. Whatever happened to our belief in the ministry of healing?
