Anything that is not funded by the official church organization is an off-shoot. Amazing Facts is an off-shoot. Club Adventist is an off-shoot. There are a lot of good off-shoots. But when they turn critical of the church, that is a poisonous well that I have to avoid. Some people have avoided Club Adventist because of that, but of course here, we have the back and forth where the church is defended.

Actually, Amazing Facts is not an offshoot and never has been. It is very much a part of the denomination and always has been as far as I know. When Joe Cruz was in charge it was under the Chesapeake Conference. Now it is under the Northern California Conference.

Shane, check your YEARBOODK. In the 2009 edition, check page 212 and you will find that Amazing Facts is an official part of the SDA Church.

Club Adventist is not an off shoot or breakaway, it stands alone, it was never a breakway.

I just arrived at this thread. But, I am shocked at the accusations that Amazing Facts is an offshoot. I think this myth has been debunked before. Some have a short memory I guess.

Anyone can be wrong in stating the facts. I made a major factual error earlier today, but I was able to correct it before I got cought.

However, in these on-going discussions, it seems to me that facts and truth are often lying on the floor to be trampled upon by those that they offend.

I'm so sorry he is going blind, but animals have an uncanny way of adapting. We have a chihuahua that, while she isn't totally blind, she can't see farther than a foot or two in front of her, and she is just as happy and goofy as our sighted dogs.

I have always used the terms "off-shoot" and "self-supporting" interchangeably. Is Amazing Facts a self-supporting ministry or is it funded by the organized church. I always thought they were self-supporting. Perhaps I was mistaken.
