This morning on his radio program, Glenn Beck discussed in more detail some of the physical challenges he’s been facing. Glenn told his audience that he will be taking several days off next week to undergo tests at a hospital “out west.”

On recent broadcasts he’s discussed that he has been having problems with feeling in his hands and feet. Today he explained that “small fiber” issues may be involved but that testing will provide more understanding. “We don’t even know what all of the symptoms are at this point,“ he explained adding that he believes ”physical, mental and spiritual are all tied.“ By ”small fibers,” he was referring to the possibility of a small fiber neuropathy diagnosis. But that is just one possibility among many things that will be considered.

Glenn also said the listeners may have noticed a change in how he sounds on the air. He said he’s been having problems with his vocal cords and that doctors will also be examining this problem.

Glenn talked at length about how the bond he has with his radio audience has been built on a foundation of disclosure and that he felt it was important for him to share as much information as he could, “So that you will understand my mindset.”

This post will be updated throughout the day to add information and clips from the program.

And he‘s pretty sure he hasn’t been attacked by “nanobots.”

Bill O'Reilly talked about this yesterday. I hope Glen is OK. I would hate to see something happen to him in his prime. He has a lot of substance abuse in his past so he may have really messed himself up.

Glen is a spinster. That's how he makes his $$$.

Just out of curosity what is it he spins? Being a Mormon and I am SDA I disagree with some of what he says but I don't count

him as a "spinster"

...not to mention that the correct English meaning of the term 'spinster' is 'woman who has never been married'. Doesn't really apply to Beck. 'Spinner' might be closer to what you meant, but I'm not sure it's quite accurate either... and it might be a bit of a cheap shot in a thread about his medical treatment.

You're very new, Sonny, and I'm not having a go at you. And I'm certainly no fan of Beck, as those who've been around here for a while know. But I do believe truth is crucial. And there's also something about decorum and about consideration for everyone as a human being and someone for whom Christ died, even when we disagree vehemently with a person's beliefs and actions.

I am not much of a fan of Glen Beck myself - at least not his politics. However he has a great sense of humor and talks a lot about the importance of family and I appreciate that. I haven't heard about the results of any of his tests - just some speculation.

Have to agree with Bravus and Shane here. I'm also not a fan of Mr. Beck. But to call hi a spinster not sure what your trying to say. I consider Mr Beck to be a very honest person.

It seems those that dislike Glenn Beck or dislike his politics listen far more than I do.

Would someone explain what it is about his politics that is disliked.

At times when I have listened to him he is surprisingly close to what SDA's used to believe concerning end time events.

He believes that the US will dig itself out of the hole that is being dug deeper, I don't.When we reach that final stage it will be final but many other issues he speaks about are pretty close to what we used to consider truth

I'm not sure I follow. What did we "used" to consider truth, that we no longer consider truth?

If you want to make a conservative mad, tell him a lie. If you want to make a liberal mad, tell him the truth.

That seems particularly rude and unfair given that I, a most notorious liberal, have stood up for the truth in this thread. I stand up for the truth on this site all the time.

If you want to make a conservative confused, suggest to him that the world doesn't always divide into two simple alternatives.

What truth do you claim to be standing up for? There wasn't any accusation made.

So please tell me what it is you consider rude. I asked a question,I did not accuse you Bravus of anything.

You seem to know a lot more about Glenn Beck than I do so it would stand to reason you must listen more. What is it about his politics that you dislike?

This means what concerning this discussion? Was there anywhere you found that the suggestion was made that the world should always divide into two simple alternatives.

Are you miffed because I said that Glenn Beck comes quite close at times to what SDA's used to believe? If so where did you see your name mentioned with that statement?

A quick read thru this forum and it is not that hard to see that the beliefs of some have changed from traditional SDA belief of end time events.

He was replying to me Bonnie. It has your name on it because you started the thread, and the threads are all screwy like that now.

Bonnie, yes, the forum software and my bad habit of using Quick Reply have crossed our wires again: I was replying to Richard, not to you. Apologies, and Stan has said there will be a software fix soon.

Incidentally, I don't listen to Glen Beck at all: he isn't even broadcast in Australia. I know his work and views only by reputation and from bits and pieces posted on the web.

Well, he is a Mormon. So his religious beliefs resemble Adventist ones as far as Mormon beliefs do. He is a far right reactionary. That is, he says and does stuff just to get a reaction out of the far left - and he is very good at it. Once upon a time, he use to avoid politics and say they were better left to Limbaugh and Hannity. He is like a shock jock that will say whatever needs to be said to get ratings and make money.

I could go on and on about where I disagree with him. I doubt he even understands where we would be if everything was run like he thinks it should be. He is for very small government. Abe Lincoln had too big of a government for Beck.

Olger is for small government too. I would cheerfully fire 50% (yes 50%) of the EPA en route to balancing the budget.

Well, Beck wouldn't have an EPA, Department of Education, IRS, FDA, HUD, ACF, USDA, AMTRAK, HHS, Department of Labor, EEOC, FDIC, FEMA, Federal Student Aid, Forest Service, Peace Corps., Americorps, SEC, SBA, SSA nor TSA. Probably some other departments too that I can't think of.

Is this last statement a truth that you stand up for?

Ironically, it's a statement that pretends to define the truth in the very terms that it's intended to attack, and is proof that at least one notorious liberal stands for using oversimplification and stereotypical thinking when it comes to conservatives.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

That last statement was a parody of Richard's statement, not anything I was seriously advancing. I thought long and hard about whether or not to include it, and included it only as parody.

My strong stand and statement is in the first two sentences quoted above.

I am frequently thought to be an atheist or be standing up for atheism, but what I am doing is standing up for telling the truith about atheists and atheism. Same for many other issues.

John is correct. You cannot posit an absolute with a statement that denies they exist.
