This is totally overblown.

I've flown commercial twice since the new screening rules went into effect. At no time did they *touch* any private parts. The hand had to pass across the space, but never touching my body -- only making sure that nothing was secreted in those areas.

Gimme a break! It didn't bother me one bit. It actually took less time than the "wanding" I used to have (because of a replacement knee joint).

Those who get the pat-down body search are the ones who decline the new scan. The choice is theirs. I for one would prefer the quick scan. Not much different than walking through the metal detectors. Far less intrusive, if you ask me.

Just because some get pat downs that aren't as invasive doesn't mean it doesn't happen. My son says it can vary from one day to the next. It depends on the individual who is doing it. There are, unfortunately, many persons who go into law enforcement solely for the power it gives them. Why would you expect it to be any different for a TSA job? People who enjoy molesting and abusing others go after jobs that give them opportunity to get away with it.

We all have a choice, to fly or not to fly. A bit more safety or less safety. Me thinks we Americans need to suck it up and get over ourselves. The occasional pat down does not hurt any one...plane going 'boom'...well that might just hurt!

We may have another choice.There has been requests to exempt muslim women and some consideration given.

Yes, that has been allowed for some time now. The private firms are still under the TSA but they tend to cost less money and provide better customer service.

Having been for a short time, a law enforcement officer, I'm wondering where you picked up that information. When I went through the battery of tests for acceptance in a large (85,000) city, there was little left to learn of me that would have indicated a propensity to abuse the power with which I was entrusted.

BTW, I didn't pass the 90 day trial period after acceptance. It was probably due to the fact that when asked if I would use my sidearm during an incident, I said not except as a last resort, though I was never informed why I was laid off.

And I also ran into a person who already was on the force during my trial period, who found pleasure in physically assaulting the handcuffed drunks when being transported in the elevator to the floor where the prisoner's cell was located. He was the only exception to the rule as there never was another officer who showed themselves to be that___what? Stupid or cruel or both?

Political correctness is a religious issue that works well with those who have a religion that commands them to pass the death sentence on to the infidel (Christian) while ignoring the collateral damage that results as a consequence of over response.
