LifeHiscost Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 in reflection... am sure there might be the odd 'aggressive' agent out of the thousands who do a search everyday. When I was young and learning how to drive a car from my father's teaching methods, I concluded I didn't have to drive and would just walk wherever I needed to go. After watching those TSA horror films I think I'll make the same conclusion about flying. I stay home a lot anyway and I've lost my desire for the touchy, feely friendly skies. God blesses! LifeHiscost Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 We Americans seem to have a rather narrow focus at times....me-me-me-me! Hmmmm...maybe we are just like everyone else!! Truer words were never spoken. The difference lies in Who it is we put our trust in. Those who see themselves as "holier than thou", which attribute is not restricted to the religious, are the only ones who have a deepseated bone to pick with others. "Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day."Isaiah 65:5 KJV "Confess your sins (faults) to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."James 5:16 NLT, AMP God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Dottie Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I have hear it said that those who are willing to give up their liberty for their security deserve neither. Or maybe it was that they will eventually have neither. Quote

fccool Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 It is high time to get rid of this idiotic politically correct notion that law enforcement cannot do ethnic/racial profiling. If 9 out of 10 plane bombers are Filipinos (I am one), who should/would you be searching? So, if 9/10 Philipinos would be child molesters, you would not mind being a suspect... constantly and repeatedly? Quote
Stan Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 I see some politicians are getting involved.. "If there is a crowd matching, get in front and act like you were leading all the time" said Al Gore to a friend of mine, Howard Lyman... fccool Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 We all have a choice, to fly or not to fly. A bit more safety or less safety. Me thinks we Americans need to suck it up and get over ourselves. The occasional pat down does not hurt any one...plane going 'boom'...well that might just hurt! Political correctness is a religious issue that works well with those who have a religion that commands them to pass the death sentence on to the infidel (Christian) while ignoring the collateral damage that results as a consequence of over response. God blesses! That's where ignorance and fear really shines, so help me by answering the following questions. 1) Since the invention of flight, how many passenger planes exploded because of terrorist blew themselves up on-board using explosive device? 2) How many bombs did TSA find and prevent from getting onboard? 3) What would you say to a person on the street who would accuse your wife of carrying an explosive and demand to x-ray her or feel her up in a very violating manner? How about your daughter? Why should TSA be any different? 4) What's so different that these policies are being implemented now... 10 years after 9/11, during which these were absent with no planes exploding in mid-air? 5) Do these searches prevent people from smuggling explosives in their anus or vagina? What happens if someone does do so? How far are you willing to go to fly? Quote

Doug Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Amazing how this topic seems to stray, as many do, into the world of religion or ethenicity! I reckon it goes along with the desire to blame someone or something. It is really a 'rights' issue. Do we give it up for safety or not and suffer possible consequences. We Americans seem to have a rather narrow focus at times....me-me-me-me! Hmmmm...maybe we are just like everyone else!! Flying on a plane is a privilege, not a right. Well at least I see it that way. Quote
fccool Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I'd describe flying on the plane to be more of an agreement... a contract, a service. Sure, you can describe it as a privilege, but not being molested in public has to be some sort right. Imagine a bus driver saying that for the safety of all of the passengers he has to personally feel them up! That would be uncalled for. But what's the difference? You have the same dangers of exploding a bus as you would exploding a plane. Similar safety issues. Yet, no one really scared of stepping on the same bus with people who are unsearched and unchecked. If driving on the bus is the same type of privilege... the government regulation end where my personal privacy begins. There's NO, absolutely NO business for government officials touching my wife in a very intrusive manner, or taking a naked photos of her. There was no need for it a year ago, what changed now? Quote

LifeHiscost Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I suppose it is also a privilege to go to the restroom. Have we all become slaves to the wrong master? Who is in control-the government or the people? The terrorists have turned the American flight industry into a segment of perverted activity for what is considered by some to be a necessary evil. The proper culprit is the original malefactor, the indiscriminate lawbreaker. The final recipients are the bystanders who still wish to be secure while maintaining their personal freedom. When one chooses to avoid or ignore the perfect law of liberty, all members of society lose a measure of their personal freedom to the slavery of licentiousness. The solution is the coming of Jesus, now to the heart of the unbeliever and believer. Next to this world, in all Christ's glory. "...because of the abounding of the lawlessness, the love of the many shall become cold; but he who did endure to the end, he shall be saved..."Matthew 24:12,13 YLT In the meantime; "And He called his...servants,...., and said unto them, Occupy till I come."Luke 19:13 KJV I don't think I'll be flying anytime soon, at least not until it's the Master who gives me my wings. One day at a time. God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Administrators Gail Posted December 3, 2010 Administrators Posted December 3, 2010 I just got a taste of this today when I tried to send a parcel down to Baltimore via Purolator. They told me that because of U.S. Customs, they would have to tear my parcel apart and inspect it. All the Christmas items... Besides that I am not allowed to ship food, medicine, jewelry and non-medical goods like lip balm. I said, "Well there goes the hemp lip balm that's in the box!!" I told them, "I know it's not you guys; it's the Government" and then the employees and I recounted all the weird stuff we have seen on Facebook happening at the airports. I didn't know about the 60-year-old woman who was told to remove her mastectomy prosthesis during her search, but I do now! I decided to try Canada Post. I just filled out the customary declaration form and the worker at the Post Office said, "If they want to open it, let them. I'm not doing it!" Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

LifeHiscost Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Just incredible. Sorry you have to endure that.. I wonder if it is a case of... "Men's hearts failing them for fear..." BTW, remember those eyeglasses that use to be advertised enabling one to see through the clothing of others. If they worked, why not buy them for the TSA employees. Nobody would be suspicious unless all of the employees started wearing them. But of course, when the passengers found out about them, there would be a run on them and the price would go so high, only the government could afford to buy them by printing more money. You just can't win for losing. LoL God Blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
