LifeHiscost Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 All should be held to accountability. I wonder if anyone finds accountability and bowing only to Jesus as somewhat inconsistent or perhaps as somewhat less than humble. "But they didn’t answer, because they had been arguing about which of them was the greatest. He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”"Mark 9:34-36 NLT God blesses! Lift Jesus up!!
Moderators Bravus Posted November 22, 2010 Moderators Posted November 22, 2010 The concept of servant leadership is an apposite one that seems to be being missed here. I don't see anyone in the leadership or moderation team setting him/herself up as any kind of king or ruler or dictator. Rather, I see a continuous, on-going attitude of humble service to the community. Truth is important
LifeHiscost Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 If this is not what you are seeking in your journey toward finding a social circle, then I am sorry. I have never asked you to leave at all, nor would I like you to. But your idea of what the site should be and what it is may be two different things. It may be that simple. Some of us are just full of ourselves. "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts."Proverbs 21:2 NKJV God blesses! Lift Jesus up!!
LifeHiscost Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Can I support a board that operates a system that is opposed to gospel order, Christian accountability, and operates the principles of satan, encouraging lordship of one over another? If I had a burr under the saddle of the horse I was riding I would get off the horse before it pitched me off, especially if the horse wasn't mine. "Love...does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged." 1 Cor 13:1,5 NLT God blesses! Lift Jesus up!!
LifeHiscost Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 If every jot and tittle were to be argued here, this board wouldn't have room for Jesus. And sometimes the word "wouldn't" could best be replaced with "doesn't". " It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."1 Cor 13:6,7 NLT God blesses! Lift Jesus up!!
Members phkrause Posted November 22, 2010 Members Posted November 22, 2010 I have taken some counsel from a poster who has asked to be nameless. They have helped me to see that the way I deal with error is not correct. As this counsel was given in a true Christian spirit I can accept it. It was something I was not aware of, but once it has been revealed, I have confessed my sin to God and asked Him to cleanse me from it. I will endeavour in future, not to "attack" error. But rather reveal error by sharing the truth. I did not understand this principle and I apologise to those that I have offended through my ignorance. I thank those on here that have been true friends and offered me support and counsel in an appropriate manner. God bless, Mark I don't think there is anyone here that I've seen that doesn't support you. Only those that disagree and those that agree. Like what has been mention above, I've also been here on this forum for many years and have not seen anything at all like you mentioned. All I've seen is those that disagree with you, you think are unchristian. Not sure that I actually agree with your complaint Mark. Personally I've appreciated most if not all of your posts. You need to be able to take as well as you yourself have given out. phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
LifeHiscost Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 I apppreciated the comment (I think of Pam's) where some Chritian behaviour falls lower in common courtesy and respect than that of the secular-minded. I have thought hard about that many a time and wished it (and I) could be better!! " It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles...."1 Corinthians 5:2 NASB So why should we be so surprised as to the underlined above? Human frailties have remained the same since the first bite. God continues to give us opportunities to be like Him, which I believe Twilight took advantage of when God gave him the way on which he insisted and/or understood. "The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe."John 20:25 KJV It could be so much easier if we all had written into the frontal lobe of our mind, "It's possible I could be wrong!!!" LifeHiscost Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Trivia: If you google "totalitarian moderator," ClubAdventist is #16 on the list. If you google "totalitarian moderator vendetta," C/A is #9. If you google "totalitarian moderator vendetta stan," C/A is #1. (I know...I have a warped sense of humor..) Seriously, that is funny. However as we get closer toward the end, all disciples of Christ will have the judgement of this world passed on them just that way. God blesses. Lift Jesus up!!
Stan Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 over the years, and we have been operating over 10 years now, someone will come here, say stop everything, this needs to be run the way I tell you to. Anyone else ever witnessed that? Rarely has the problems been about the ideas or thoughts... although I can recall one regretful time, but has been about the delivery. If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted November 22, 2010 Members Posted November 22, 2010 I'd like tea and crumpets served to me whenever I log into C/A. Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Dr. Shane Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I never got into fresh ground coffee. The best coffee I have tasted, and that I drink in my home, is a local supermarket brand, medium-dark decaf. In fact, I am drinking a cup right now. Pastoral Family Counselor... cardw Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 That can be aggravated by a system, that does not allow someone to express their own feelings or fears Gail. The FACT that you have spent almost three pages of ranting and complaining without being censored should be evidence enough that your statement is false. Rich http://tiny.cc/CM2j8
Twilight Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 I would like the moderators to now lock this thread. I have publically apologised for my wrong approach in dealing with error and those that present it. That apology unfortunately has not been accepted by many posters here, or acknowledged by anyone other than John317. But God has accepted it, and the moderator here has accepted it, so I am at peace. I have made my point that Gospel Order means all have to be held accountable in a community. This point has not been shown to be incorrect from scripture by any poster. So I maintain that point. But I request the thread be locked now. The best wisdom is always second hand...
Twilight Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 If somebody wants to start a thread that deals with Gospel order and accountability in a Christian community, I would be happy to discuss that issue there. The best wisdom is always second hand...
