Church immune to natural disaster?

I think it is of no worth the way you interpret them. That would be true.

I guess the thread title specifies natural disasters, but SDAs sure weren't immune to being hacked to death in Rwanda. The far more disturbing part is that they were also not immune to doing the hacking.

In reference to SDA's loosing their life, that was noted by an official SDA agency in Japan early on in this crisis. There was, at that time, no confirmation of any SDA deaths, that could change.

I do not assume that all official members of the SDA church are true followers of Christ, but in name only. Likewise, not all sincere followers of Christ are SDA. Sin and crimes against humanity may be committed by anyone at any time, regardless of their affiliation.

So the original question/comment might better be phrased as, those "true followers of Christ" as opposed to SDA's. So, are the true followers of Christ afforded any special protection during natural disasters? The consensus of the matter seems to be "no" they are not. But I think the true followers of Christ are indeed afforded special protection myself, in some manner that may not be easily discerned by us.

Great Controversy, page 512, talks about those who determine to follow Christ are appointed a Guardian Angel at that time. Some believe we all have a gauardian angel from birth, maybe, maybe not...

I've been to Japan, when I was not a christian, and recall being impressed with what a "godless" society they seemed to be. Temples and various non-christian methods of worship and adoration abound. I found the various religion based traditions and ceremonies to be of little or no value, at least to my limited basic judeo christian sense of values.
