Moderators John317 Posted March 23, 2011 Moderators Posted March 23, 2011 I wish the whole world truly beleived and accepted the Adventist Message. But I'll settle for the whole world hearing the Adventist Message and making a decision whether to accept it or reject it. When that happens, Jesus will come. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
cricket Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 To be 100% honest, I'm so glad that there are some friends of mine who are not Adventist. I feel stifled in the Adventist environment and in the non-Adventist environment I feel free to speak the thoughts on my mind. (And I don't mean here, online. Online seems to be entirely different. Perhaps due to the semi-anonymity of the nature of online communications.) Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Stan, God would probably love to have the entire world right now be the Kingdom of Heaven as Jesus said they would look like in Matthew 25:1-13. And as anyone can read, this is clearly the Adventists today. Problem is that they are all spiritually sleeping even though their works are good as we see in Rev. 2:19, "I know your deeds, and your love and faith and servie and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first..." So yes, they are teaching and preaching the "Adventist" gospel BUT NOT the same gospel that Jesus said to preach. Jesus made it clear that it is the Gospel OF (about) the Kingdom of Heaven that would be preached to all the world. (See Matt. 24:14) Quote
CoAspen Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 No....just accept Christ! Then the end will come.....or to put it in positive manner, then the future begins!!! Quote
skyblue888 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 There is a difference between the adventist message itself and professing to be adventists. I find that the true adventist message is either far from being understood by most adventists or no longer palatable to them. First I'll settle for professed adventists to hear the third angel's message in verity and for them to make a decision and then go to the world with that message. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Moderators John317 Posted March 23, 2011 Moderators Posted March 23, 2011 No....just accept Christ! Then the end will come.....or to put it in positive manner, then the future begins!!! But merely hearing the popular gospel and accepting that version of Christ will not bring about the return of Christ. That "gospel" is a false one. There's a big difference between that one and the "everlasting gospel" that Rev. 14 says will be preached to all the world before Christ returns. There will be billions of people who have claimed to accept Christ but who will receive the mark of the beast and the seven last plagues and be lost. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Moderators John317 Posted March 23, 2011 Moderators Posted March 23, 2011 If people all truly knew God and followed the Bible, they would be SDAs. They would certainly keep the Sabbath and be looking for the second coming. I'm getting the impression that some people don't really want everyone to accept the Adventist message or else don't believe that it is the truth. If the message is true, why would we not want people to hear it and accept it? Are we saying we want people to remain in the false churches and not know the truth? Or are we saying the SDA church doesn't teach any more truth than the other churches? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Moderators John317 Posted March 23, 2011 Moderators Posted March 23, 2011 I know you don't like the SDA message and don't believe it, but what about Seventh-day Adventists, people who do believe the SDA message? skyblue888 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Here is the correct answer hahaha good one! If the message is true, why would we not want people to hear it and accept it? Are we saying we want people to remain in the false churches and not know the truth? Or are we saying the SDA church doesn't teach any more truth than the other churches? The answer is easy. Some are thinking of SDA as in what they currently experience with SDAs. The other group is thinking of the SDA in purity. Jesus takes people where they are at and then helps them grow. The primary thing is to love Jesus. The other aspects will come. And some of the things that SDAs currently think is important ... are really not of concern to Jesus. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
teresaq Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 There have been some intelligent answers here. I have to agree with Cricket, that many times it is much better for me to be around non-SDAs than SDAs. The non-SDAs seem to hear what I'm saying, while the SDAs are too busy hearing what they think I'm saying and "teachy/preachying" me. Having been born in this church I'm quite sure I'm just as bad as the worst. One thing that disappoints me is it seems too any times we are worshipping the idea of being Adventist, or the church, without having an honest clue of what it is really about. It's like the saying, "I'm proud to be a Christian". Talk about a contradiction in terms!! Not to mention too many times an outright lie!! What helps put it all in perspective for me is remembering Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. with Revelation3: 14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;... 20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. I'm fairly positive He isn't standing inside knocking to get out. Our "knowledge", that has come to us from the prayers and hard works of others has made us far too prideful, in my opinion, without realizing how truly destitute we really are. Destitute of the Holy Spirit, and the true love of God. We can't manufacture that, but we can plead with God til we are filled...then we might have something to boast about. I liked the hog cartoon, Stan. That was cute. Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.790

CoAspen Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 What must I do to be saved...was asked several times in the NT. What was the answer....believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. NOT a false Gospel! But then, you do seem to enjoy suspecting the worse. The future does begin with an acceptance of Christ. Continuing to play with 'words' of others and not looking at the inference is very tiresome. There is a difference between claiming and accepting and I do not believe humans can look at any ones heart so I leave that to God. The Gospel is believing and accepting Christ as our Savior. Quote
CoAspen Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Yep that would be true, also if the whole world were Jewish also!!! And don't forget the vegans!!! Quote

Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted March 24, 2011 Administrators Posted March 24, 2011 What does it say about Adventists when pigs are rooting for us??? Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
