(I really haven't followed this issue very closely at all. It's not a big deal to me, and I am just wondering why the President doesn't simply let the world see it. I would.) So I am wondering if the state of Hawaii has a law against releasing it. But if so, why? I'm sure that the Presdient could order it released fairly easily. I can't imagine the state would refuse the President's order. I actually like a lot (but not all) of the things Ron Paul says, but I know he won't be the Republican candidate or win the election. He's not the type that wins national elections in the USA. If I were a betting person, I would place my bet on Romney's getting the nomination. If I were Romney, I would pick either the Louisiana governor or the former governor of Minnesota as my running mate. If the economy doesn't improve substantially between now and the election, and if the wars in the Middle East aren't concluded successfully by then, I think Romney would win not only the nomination but the general election. I could be completely wrong, though, because we don't even yet know who all will be campaigning for the nomination, and there are many things that can change the political landscape between now and then. The crazy right is now claiming that the birth certificate Obama released a few years ago is only the "short form" (as if anyone has two birth certificates). I see you don't know anything about birth certificates. No, not two birth certificates. 0 birth certificates. The short form, (which is what that one is) is not actually a valid birth certificate. A long-form birth certificate is the copy of the actual certificate of birth on file with the locality where the birth took place. The short-form birth certificate is a notarized document stating that the long form certificate exists and is on file. Place of Birth The long form of a birth certificate gives details as to whether the birth took place in a hospital, birthing facility or home. The short form does not have this information. File Number The short-form birth certificate will have a file number. This should correspond with the file number of the original long-form Certification of Birth. Attendant The attendant physician or midwife is listed on a long-form birth certificate, but not on the short form. Country The long-form birth certificate lists the nationality of both parents, but the short form does not. Quote

In the US, all he has to do is call the county where he was born and order another official copy. Due to identity theft there are a few things they will ask for him to prove he is who he claims. I have had to do this twice. It is not too difficult. The claim being made is that Hawaii issues two birth certificates. One is issued by the hospital and the other by the county. I don't know if that is true or not. I know that is not the case in Iowa or Texas. The "claim" is that the "Certificate of Live Birth" that Obama produced was the one issued by the hospital and birthers are demanding the county version. It is ridiculous really. Let's put it in perspective. There are only two kinds of citizens. 1. Natural born. 2. Naturalized. Which is Obama? He is natural born. It doesn't even matter on which piece of real estate he was born. He is natural born because his mother was a US citizen at the time of his birth. The US Constitution does not say a person must be born on US soil. It says the person must be natural born. The only other kind of citizen is a naturalized citizen. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
