The first half of your statement is very well said indeed!

The second post may or may not be referring to some of my posts. Rest assured to all, I am not trying to misrepresent the SDA church. My posts come from real questions I have about my own beliefs. My intent is to stimulate thinking, and to find answers, not to sew dissent. I will make this statement very clearly though: in my experience as an SDA I've found many fellow church members who really don't want to be stimulated. They want to follow the path of one who does not question, and for those that do question, well, they are heretics and thus deserving of attack. I find this disturbing. We are made in God's image, with brains, he wants us to think. Imagine the creator of this majestic and wonder-filled universe *not* wanting us to question, discuss, and consider the boundless glory of His love! Impossible. So I will stroke broadly with a brushstroke of patience those who tend to immediately get defensive as soon as someone questions their beliefs. After all, didn't most of the people in the Bible go against the flow of accepted theological thought? Why then do we not want to accept it now?

One thing is for sure, that the rest of the world asks hard questions and by not answering hard theological questions we are not going to made headway into the more educated demographic of the planet. The idea that Christians should not explore the Bible unrestrained is somewhat medieval.

Good try Woody, but every verse you gave and statment you wrote was from someone other than the words of Jesus Christ. Like I said before, Jesus NEVER said that all Christians will be saved. In fact, Jesus said that MOST of them will be on the wide road to destruction. How sad!

Not sure where you got that. I said that none of us qualify to be members according to the Manual because we all fall short of the Law. Please provide quote if you are going to try to claim I said something. I never stated that ALL will be saved. For all most certainly will not be saved. Many reject Christ.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Nope, I was not referring to your posts at all, Flyboy. The ones I'm referring to will not see it in themselves.

There is a difference between asking "hard questions" and intentionally sowing discord and heresy regarding the church and its members and beliefs.

It would very interesting to me to find out if other denominations allow this kind of chicanery on their forums. Perhaps I'll check that out...

If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony.

Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?

Haha... I once tried to bring up a hard question on another unofficial SDA forum and was immediately and unkindly told that there would be no discussion of accepted doctrine on that forum. I made no further posts. A group of people like that just sit around slapping each other on the back and saying "amen". Maybe good for them but not for me.

Yeah. As you have seen - there are some here that don't appreciate it. But you will survive. Some of us will support your right to ask them hard questions.

deleted because I don't think I would have gotten a straight answer to my questions...

Flyboy, I tend to agree with what you said about others other than Christians being found in heaven. The verse I wrote here from the words of Jesus also pointed out that those who do good will be rewarded for what they do and those who do evil will also be rewarded for what they do.

You are also correct in that there were some old geziers who went to heaven without even hearing the testimony of Jesus because they were perfect in God's eye and because they had overcome sin.

My own opinion is that God wants people who are honestly seeking the truth and making their own choice to obey the law that is in their heart. But having said this, it is also my opinion that the last generation will sprout the 144k who have learned the truth from the words of Jesus ONLY and will get a chance to share this with the whole world during the time of trouble.

I believe the time of trouble is given to the whole world to get people to move off of the fence--one way or the other. The full real truth will be taught and preached by the 144k at this time so there will not be any more division of religions as you see today. It will be the kingdoms and nations of the world against those who keep the ten commandments and hold fast to the testimony of Jesus as found in Rev. 12:17. But hey, what do I know?
