miz3 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Where IN THE BIBLE does it state that Satan says it is "unfair" for you and I to enter Heaven?
skyblue888 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Where does it not? "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
miz3 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 Skyblue888, I was NOT asserting anything! However, many persons on this website have asserted in a most strenuous way that Satan accuses God of being unfair and that it is unfair for humans to enter heaven. I just want to know where in the Bible this is stated! Are you able to this Sky?
Sonny Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Zechariah 3:1 NKJV Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. BC- PK -TI- Prophets and Kings -CN- 47 -CT- Joshua and the Angel -PR- 02 -PG- 588 The tempter stands by to accuse them, as he stood by to resist Joshua. He points to their filthy garments, their defective characters. He presents their weakness and folly, their sins of ingratitude, their unlikeness to Christ, which has dishonored their Redeemer. He endeavors to affright them with the thought that their case is hopeless, that the stain of their defilement will never be washed away. He hopes so to destroy their faith that they will yield to his temptations, and turn from their allegiance to God. "Are these," he says, "the people who are to take my place in heaven, and the place of the angels who united with me? They profess to obey the law of God; but have they kept its precepts? Have they not been lovers of self more than lovers of God? Have they not placed their own interests above His service? Have they not loved the things of the world? Look at the sins that have marked their lives. Behold their selfishness, their malice, their hatred of one another. Will God banish me and my angels from His presence, and yet reward those who have been guilty of the same sins? Thou canst not do this, O Lord, in justice. Justice demands that sentence be pronounced against them." But while the followers of Christ have sinned, they have not given themselves up to be controlled by the satanic agencies. They have repented of their sins and have sought the Lord in humility and contrition, and the divine Advocate pleads in their behalf. He who has been most abused by their ingratitude, who knows their sin and also their penitence, declares: “The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan. I gave My life for these souls. They are graven upon the palms of My hands. They may have imperfections of character; they may have failed in their endeavors; but they have repented, and I have forgiven and accepted them.”
Administrators Gail Posted June 28, 2011 Administrators Posted June 28, 2011 What else do you think the "accuser of the brethren" is accusing the brethren of? When you or I accuse our fellows of something, it's usually of something wrong that they have been doing. The reason? I think it could be a couple, either to make ourselves look better than the accused, or to justify something bad that we ourselves have done. Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
skyblue888 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Gail, but in this case the devil is not wrongly accusing because, as Sonny's above post clearly shows, the devil is calling attention to the sins of God's people and he is arguing that if he was 'cast out" of Heaven because of his sins, then all of us should be kept from entering Heaven. sky "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Administrators Gail Posted June 28, 2011 Administrators Posted June 28, 2011 I didn't say he was accusing wrongly... When either people OR Satan accuses, they are focusing on sins. Personally I have a hard time with people that accuse (when I do it, too!) because that is Satan's work. Not only is he the father of lies, but he is the accuser of the brethren. Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Moderators John317 Posted June 28, 2011 Moderators Posted June 28, 2011 I agree. Satan doesn't have to lie when he accuses people of sinning and of betraying God. But what Satan doesn't include is the fact that Christ has died for us and has the right to forgive us. Satan also neglects to include the fact that God's people have changed and are no longer committing those sins that he accuses them of. See 1 Cor. 6: 9-11 and 1 John 3: 4-10. So when Satan accuses us before God, Christ is able to tell him to sit down and shut his mouth. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
miz3 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 BC- PK-TI- Prophets and Kings -CN- 47 -CT- Joshua and the Angel -PR- 02 -PG- 588 The Bible Sonny, the Bible! Nothing against Ellen White, I just want to see it from the Bible!
miz3 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 You are correct that Satan is accusing us by pointing out our sins. That is nothing new! We have already established that Satan by pointing out our sins deems us not worthy of heaven but that is not the question. We also know that God shuts Satan up because of His blood! That still leaves the question I have asked. What I want to know is where in all that does Satan accuse God of being "unfair" by then letting us into heaven.
skyblue888 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I agree. Satan doesn't have to lie when he accuses people of sinning and of betraying God. But what Satan doesn't include is the fact that Christ has died for us and has the right to forgive us. Yes if only his mouth could be shut for good. sigh can't wait for that. sky "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
miz3 Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 You still have not answered where in the Bible does it say, "that Satan says it is unfair for us to go to heaven"? No credible answers yet! Saying it "goes without saying" is not an answer let being anything close to credible!
miz3 Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 I am amazed! I see this statement all over this website that "Satan says it is unfair to let us into heaven". Yet not one is stepping up to the plate to give chapter and verse from the Bible. It would seem that such a prevalently used statement would surely have clear unambiguous Biblical support and would be easy to call up for ALL TO SEE! What's up?
Sonny Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 No one wants to talk with you because you are a known it all....Believe me, we hear it from you all the time. So be it.
whatisthis Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Whoa! I am studying for the final part of a three week semester right now, have two days to go, and so busy I haven't followed this whole thread, probably will Friday night. But, here's one thing I want to say: It is not true that nobody wants to talk to you! more later
miz3 Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 Sonny, You are sore because of you did not succeed on another thread. Calling me names does not get it done. Let's see your Scripture Sonny that is the answer to this question! Do you have any Scripture Sonny?
miz3 Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 Fine ClubV12, you don't have to participate. No one is forcing you or Sonny or anyone to participate. However, one has to wonder if those who think the question is stupid are the ones who have no answer. These same ones will use this statement (I have seen you use this statement ClubV12 many times) but then have no answer to the question posed! Could it really be that there is no Biblical answer to the question yet people throw this phrase and this concept around all the time. Do you have a Biblical answer ClubV12?
skyblue888 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Sonny has already replied to your question but you disregarded it miz. sky :) "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
cricket Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I don't think it's a pointless question. I haven't given an answer though, because I don't think it does say in the Bible that Satan says it is unfair for humans to enter heaven. It may be implied such that people infer it to say so, but I don't think it is written literally in scripture that Satan says it's unfair.
ClubV12 Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 It's a question that will only lead to division, a mole hill becoming a mountain. And to what end? To what purpose? The answer is obvious to any reasonable person of average biblical knowledge.
cricket Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 It is important to know exactly what the Bible says. It is less important to know what others think they believe the Bible is saying.
