Only a blind man could read the following passage of scripture and say that all of these things taken together happened in the past in 70 A.D.

The Lord is projecting long in His answer about the time of the end still pending and there is nothing recorded in the historical record that verifies the same events ..... none of this has ever taken place as presented .... but it is coming

He answers His early followers who were all Israelites and speaks of a remnant part of the nation that will be present in the land during the coming 70th week decreed, but does not tell them the dating of the setting [Jeremiah 30; 31:31-37; Daniel 9:24-27; Micah 5:5-15; Zechariah 12; 13; 14]

There is no intent by the Lord to give allegorical hype to the events of the time .... and He is not speaking to His church composed of both Jew and gentile in matters of salvation .... but to His nation of Israel at the coming time of the end of this present age .... He is Himself an Israelite by his humanity .... the Lion of the tribe of Judah [Revelation 5:5]

Israel has returned to the land in part today just as the prophetic scriptures tell, and in place to experience these things that are scheduled .... and a believing remnant will turn to their Messiah and King [isaiah 11; 27:13; Ezekiel 20: 33-37; 36:1-13; 38; 39; Romans 11:36-45; Revelation 7:1-8; 14:1-7]

He will restore the kingdom to Israel [His coming millennial kingdom upon the earth] [acts 1:6] .... but first He must come to bring judgment for the purpose of taking back the earth which is rightfully His [Revelation 6;12-17] .... men will not bring in this kingdom .... only the Lord can and will do this .... to believe that this kingdom has been operating on the earth for 2000 years by the efforts of man is pure folly

His kingdom of the church is a hidden one, living in the world, but not of it, and waiting for their immortal translation to rule with Him at His coming [1Corinthians 15:22-23; 15:51-58]

The Bible is one book and not to be pieced up into parcels for the purpose of supporting the pre-conceived doctrines of men

Luke 21

21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. [He briefs them of their own fate before all of these things will come ..... and all of which are all still pending at this time even today]

21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish [because they will live eternally].

21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. [Zechariah 14:4-5; Matthew 24:15-16; Revelation 12:6; 12:14-17]

21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Only a blind man? LOL

Only a blind man could continuing posting this ridiculous interpretation of scripture!

That is a pathetic response club .... sounds like you are a bit rattled

If you don't like my views of the prophetic scriptures you should ignore them .... you do not want to look like a troll on a message board

Those who are trapped in cult like religions often behave and respond as you have .... ranting at a poster that they do not agree with by personal attacks

This tells much about your lack of confidence in what you claim to stand on .... those who are steadfast and unshaken in their beliefs never have the need to win by railing at others

I have to agree with that, even though it is easily debunked. But who has the time to waste on it? I'll see if my friend Marcos want's to do it. I think this doctrine is right up his alley.

I agree with most of what you said - Jesus was not speaking about 70 AD.

You still have this mistaken notion that the focus of the last days is on the Jews and not Christians.

Don't get me wrong - Jews as individuals can be saved if they accept Jesus Christ, but as a nation they sealed their fate 2000 years ago.

I do personally support Israel and hope for their success, but I don't believe modern Israel is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Their life as a country today depends on military power, and particularly on American military power. I don't see that in the prophecies. A great many Jews in Israel don't even believe in the God of the Old Testament, and very few believe in Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of their Messianic hopes. My view of prophecy is that God would bring the Israelites back when they returned to Him, but it is obvious that modern Israel does not consist of people who have returned to God at all.

Is the Lord finished with His nation of Israel?

Jeremiah

31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

31:35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

31:36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

31:37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

31:38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

31:39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

31:40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.

And who are the subjects of this vision?

Ezekiel

36:1 Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:

36:2 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:

36:3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

36:4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;

36:5 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

36:6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:

36:7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

36:8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.

36:9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:

36:10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:

36:11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

36:12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men.

36:13 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations:

36:14 Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.

36:15 Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.

36:16 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

36:17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

36:18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:

36:19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

36:20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.

36:21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.

36:22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

36:23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

36:29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

36:30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

36:31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

36:32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

36:33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

36:34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

36:35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36:36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

36:37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

36:38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Jeremiah

31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

The NT tells us that this is the New Covenant that Christ made and ratified with His blood at the cross. See Heb. 8 and 10.

Do you agree that Christ ratified the New Covenant that Jeremiah refers to here?

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

"Do you agree that Christ ratified the New Covenant that Jeremiah refers to here?"

>Hebrews 8; 10; point to the same Lord's future dealing with Israel as a nation just as the O.T. prophets tell .... at His second advent which will include the 70th week decreed for the nation [Jeremiah 30]

>All of this is still pending fulfillment .... the things written have never come to pass .... but they will

>Daniel view of the same is spelled out in chapter 9 .... the future destiny of his people only .... the Lord's church of both Jew and gentile is not in view

>The details, subjects, and locations given by the prophets related speak of Israel returned to the land for shaping the core of the Lord's coming millennial kingdom on the earth [isaiah 11; 27:13; Ezekiel 36:6-11; 36:17-38; Matthew 24:29-31]

>This has nothing to do with today's church and it will be a kingdom of mortals [Joel 3:18-21; Micah 4:1-3; 5:7-8; Zechariah 14:6-11]

>Israel for the most part has rejected the nation's Messiah and King and very few have believed over the centuries .... His church is composed of mostly the believing gentiles of the nations

>His church will rule with Him during the period, but as immortals [Revelation 5:1-10; 20:4]

Did Christ ratify the New Covenant by shedding His blood on the cross?

Quote:
Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

8:7 For if that first [covenant] had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

8:13 In that he saith, A new [covenant], he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old [is] ready to vanish away.

It seems to me that the writer of Hebrews is saying that this New Covenant is the one under which we are living today, after the cross. If not, what is he saying?

What covenant do we live under now, and don't Jews live under the same covenant? I'm thinking of Galatians 3: 26-29, etc.

Quote:
3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

3:29 And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

John 3:16-17

His church is composed of both a few Jews and a multitude of the gentiles .... but in matters of salvation .... not national identity

This passage of scripture that you suggest is the same view that parallels Jeremiah 31:31-37 .... this is national Israel of the future that will experience His millennial kingdom upon the earth .... a kingdom of mortals

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:"

The church of today is not "the house of Israel" and it should be obvious that the passage points to a future day in which Israel will accept Him as their Messiah and King

We gentiles must remember that we are the ones grafted in, but Israel is the root ..... and still is

The Lord is not a white anglo-saxon cowboy .... He is a Jew by His humanity and the Lion of the tribe of Judah [Revelation 5:5]

And we are told not to boast against His intents [Romans 11:18-36]

National Israel has not become the church .... and the church has not replaced national Israel

The theme of Israel runs throughout the prophetic scriptures from Genesis to Revelation .... from its beginnings to its future redemption

The nation has been set aside because of unbelief .... but this is going to change during the coming 70th week decreed .... and beyond

So would I but in the turmoil this world is in, not sure I'm interested anymore. But I guess though if an opportunity comes up I would probably go. Yes I know a few Messianic Jews. One went to AUC a few years ago. I do believe though hes an SDA now or might have been already than. But he used to go to all the Messianic temples in the area and also in the NY area. There is also a Jewish SDA Pastor here in Florida that has a Messianic Temple that he pastors as well as a SDA church that he pastors. I believe I sent you a link to his Temple? If you would like another link I can send it to you.

Take a careful look at Israel in the Middle East today

Why has a remnant part returned to the land surrounded by their ancient enemies of the Middle East?

[Psalms 83; Jeremiah 30; Ezekiel 36; 38; 39; Daniel 9; Daniel 11:41; Daniel 12; Micah 4; 5; Joel 2: 3; Zechariah 12; 13; 14; Matthew 24:15-16; Luke 21:20-24; Revelation 12]

The Lord is drawing the world's attention to the Middle East in many ways today ..... and there is a reason [Zechariah 14; Revelation 6:12-17; 19:11-21]

There are many verses of the prophetic scriptures that apply, but I will give you one .... if you want more I will respond

Isaiah

11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

The first time was the return from the Babylonian captivity ..... the Lord is now drawing Israel back to the land the second time from dispersion [70 A.D.] for the purpose of experiencing the 70th week scheduled and still pending which will culminate in His appearing to rule the earth from Jerusalem [israel's capital city]

All ethnic Israelites will experience His coming visitation, both those in the land and those still residing in the nations at the time .... and He knows who they are

Two thirds of the nation will be killed in unbelief, but the balance will survive His coming hour of trial and judgment .... the purpose .... to pressure Israel for turning and to punish the nations of the gentiles for intransigence and refusal to recognize Him for who He is [2Thessalonians 2:2-12; Revelation 6:12-17]

A remnant part of these will turn to Him and they will enter and populate [reproduce in] His coming millennial kingdom on the earth

It seems to me that God had an original plan for Israel-and the world-stated in the bible, of which that one portion was a part of, and that Israel went their own way far too often-as do we-and so God was not able to bring it to pass.

I take it you see it differently?

"I take it you see it differently?"

I believe that the scriptures explain the Lord's position on the matter

We must remember that He is the Lord and does His will for His own purposes even if we think differently

I will give one example ..... there are many

The idea that His church of today has become Israel is simply not true .... He has preserved His national people since its beginning for His purposes which will be carried out at the end of this present age

Read the following passage of scripture carefully which describes His intent, reasoning, and purpose [it should be obvious that today's church is not in view in this discourse]:

36:3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people: [this setting is developing before us today in the Middle East [Psalms 83; Ezekiel 38; Obadiah 1:1-21]

36:4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;

[The Lord reveals His response]

36:10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded {Isaiah 11]:

[He reviews Israel's behavior in the past]

[Notice His reasoning for gathering a future remnant of Israel]
