Administrators Gail Posted April 4, 2005 Administrators Posted April 4, 2005 Sometimes I wonder what the moral is to this story... Is true love forever? Does the mistress win in the end? It's nobody's business? They should have married in the first place and have been done with it? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Moderators Bravus Posted April 4, 2005 Moderators Posted April 4, 2005 Yes. Erm, I mean, yes to the last one. Charles and Di was a fairytale marriage - literally. It was constructed cynically by the royal family, and it broke. Charles should have had the testicular fortitude to stand up to mumsy and marry who he wanted. Quote Truth is important

Amelia Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I believe the problem to Charles marrying Camilla first, was she didnt have the bloodline needed to produce proper heirs to the throne. As a mistress and second wife she is ok. One of the same reasons Edward abdicated. William will have the same trouble when it comes his time to wed. Neil D Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Quote: She is NOT the Princess of Wales. She has been given another title. Ok, becoming the princess of Wales, then. Camilla, Princess of Wales [:"green"] Camilla will be Princess of Wales By Catriona Davies and Paul Chapman (Filed: 04/04/2005) The Government will confirm today that Camilla Parker Bowles will be given the title Princess of Wales after her marriage to Prince Charles. Although she will legally have the same title as the late Diana, Princess of Wales, Mrs Parker Bowles has said it is not how she will be known. Instead, Mrs Parker Bowles will be known as the Duchess of Cornwall after the wedding on Friday. The position will be set out formally by Christopher Leslie, the constitutional affairs minister, in a written parliamentary answer to the Labour MP Andrew Mackinlay. A spokesman for the Department for Constitutional Affairs said yesterday: "She will be the Princess of Wales but she will not use the title. ''Clarence House have said this all the way through." Buckingham Palace has been wary of public sensibilities over Princess Diana's death in choosing Mrs Parker Bowles's title. She will change her title to Princess Consort when the Prince of Wales becomes king. [/] Telgraph News Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. Moderators Nan Posted April 5, 2005 Moderators Posted April 5, 2005 I think in this country most would not want to see Camilla as queen. There has been debate here for years about whether Australia should become a republic (still within the Commonwealth) and thus whoever reigns in the UK, would not be our head of state. Many republicans feel that the prospect of Charles and Camilla reigning over Australia, even it is only titular, will aid their cause. Quote
Ron Lambert Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 They should have regular breaks during the wedding for commercials advertising laundry detergent. The whole Royal family has been an absurd soap opera for generations. Quote
K Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I noticed on the cover of Today that Camilla looked more like Princess Di than ever. I think the PR people have gotten her and are trying to make her more palatable to the masses. Do the women out there have any respect for Price Charles??? I think he is a big whiney weany.
