Moderators Bravus Posted April 6, 2005 Moderators Posted April 6, 2005 yeah, maybe that's a big part of the problem: we've started expecting monarchs to be like politicians, all poll-fed and smoothed-out... Quote Truth is important

Neil D Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 So, what do you all think of Camellia? And yeah, she looks like she's had a make over in the PR department, at least from my perspective over here on the west coast. K Posted April 8, 2005 Posted April 8, 2005 I think her hair was in definite need of a redo. She needed an extreme makeover, and I think she got it. K Quote Proverbs 15:15 He that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted April 11, 2005 Moderators Posted April 11, 2005 How much is a stone? [in weight] I heard the British reporter on CNN say Camilla had lost almost a stone in weight, had her teeth whitened and her hair lightened. Amelia Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 I saw pics of Camilla from when she was in her 20's. Amelia Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Camilla beaten by dung at charity sale A signed picture of Camilla, the new Duchess of Cornwall, was beaten at a charity auction by a pile of dung. She also donated a letter and a book to the sale to help raise money for the Aberglasney Gardens near Carmarthen, West Wales. The lot went for £15 - while 12 tons of vintage 15-year-old horse manure fetched £70. Auction organiser Jacqui Mitchell said: "The Duchess's items were among the last things that she signed as Camilla Parker Bowles. But the most interest was in the manure - it is very hard to come by at this sort of age." The auction raised £3,600 reports The Sun. SandyColorado Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Quote: She is NOT the Princess of Wales. She has been given another title. Quote: She will change her title to Princess Consort when the Prince of Wales becomes king. [/] Telgraph News I took a historical tour of the local cemetary recently and there was a tombstone of a big important man (Mr. Smith), and next to him on one side was his wife and a couple of kids, and on the other side a stone that said "Jane Doe - CONSORT of Mr. Smith." The historian explained that CONSORT meant his mistress. I guess that Camilla is properly named, if you ask me. Quote

I dont think consort means only mistress, it can apply to either gender - Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh is also the Prince Consort I think - or has been.
