MM, check out Judges 5: 8.

Would you translate it "renewed gods" or "new gods"?

Jeremiah 26: 10 has "New Gate." Do you agree?

That is the identical word found in Jeremiah 31: 31, "new covenant."

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Yes, the Old Covenant-- the one made at Sinai-- didn't contradict the Everlasting Covenant. It was intended to lead the people to the New Covenant. God simply allowed the people to see for themselves that they couldn't obey the law of God on their own, "in the flesh," to use Paul's language.

The following is from Nehemiah the prophet of the "New Covenant", the covenant of the restoration of Israel and Judah. When Israel and Judah returned to God with all their heart and mind, then God would make a new covenant. The reason that God needed to make a new covenant with them is that a covenant no longer exsisted between God and His people/nation. When Israel, and later Judah, broke the covenant, by following after other gods, and other atrocities, God drove them out of the promised land, just like he did with Adam and Eve when they disobeyed. When we look at the context of the restoration prophecy of Jeremiah 31 we can clearly see that this applied specifically to the reassembling of the two nations, Israel and Judah.

Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,

Nehemiah 1:4 When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days ; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven. 5 I said, "I beseech You, O LORD God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who preserves the covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, 6let Your ear now be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer of Your servant which I am praying before You now, day and night, on behalf of the sons of Israel Your servants, confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You; I and my father's house have sinned. 7 "We have acted very corruptly against You and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses. 8"Remember the word which You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful I will scatter you among the peoples; 9 but if you return to Me and keep My commandments and do them, though those of you who have been scattered were in the most remote part of the heavens, I will gather them from there and will bring them to the place where I have chosen to cause My name to dwell.' 10 "They are Your servants and Your people whom You redeemed by Your great power and by Your strong hand.

The third commandment is a command to keep "My" commandments. It does not appear that God thought it was impossible to keep His commandments "in the flesh" as Paul would have us believe.

Deuteronomy 5:10 NAS

but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments

1 John 5:3 NAS

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments ; and His commandments are not burdensome

There is no indication by God, or his prophets/apostles, that there is any change in the requirement to "keep My commandments" literally, not spiritualy or figuritively. Jesus did not keep the commandments so we would not have to.

Romans 10:4 NAS

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Romans 7:25 NAS

Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord ! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

Remnant keep God's commandments

Revelation 12:17

(17) And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:12

(12) Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Remnant have spirit of prophecy

Revelation 19:10

(10) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Remnant lead by a prophet

1 Corinthians 10:11

(11) Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Hosea 12:13

(13) And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

ensamples=types

Israel was a type of God's church in the last days so God's remnant will be lead by a prophet

Remnant is worldwide

Revelation 14:6

(6) And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Matthew 24:14

(14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Remnant raised on time

Daniel 8:14

(14) And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Revelation 14:7

(7) Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Remnant preaches truth about sanctuary

Daniel 8:11-12

(11) Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

(12) And an host was given him against the daily by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

Revelation 13:6

(6) And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Daniel 8:14

(14) And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Daniel 8 is sanctuary language and the little horn cast down the truth about the sanctuary and and the end of the 2300 day/year prophecy the remnant would teach the truth about the sanctuary

Galatians 3:29

(29) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Remnant began 1844 each of these points to what the remnant will do from 1844, although they can be found before that but it points to what the remnant will do. Your thoughts will be good.

Galatians 3:29

(29) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Shortly after 1844 the work of God upon the earth was to be finished and cut short in righteousness. But it wasn't. See G.C.457,458. The latter rain would have enabled the bearers of the message to proclaim it in demonstration and power of the Holy Spirit and thus they would have grown up into Christ until the full corn of His character would have been in the ear, and they would have received the final seal and thus be prepared to pass through the time of Jacob's trouble.

The proclamation of the third angel's message would have gathered a people from all nations, tongues, and peoples, but only those who would have passed the scrutiny of the judgment of the living at the time of the great final test at the end of the loud cry would have become the "remnant" people of God to go through the time of Jacob's trouble and be translated without seeing death.

The "remnant" are those who at the end of the loud cry receive the final seal and they are prepared to go through the time of Jacob's trouble and be translated without seeing death.

Those who will accept the message during the loud cry to the world but are put to death for their faith, or die of old age, or whatever reason, will be raised in the special resurrection just before Jesus shall appear in the clouds of Heaven.

So the "remnant" must be the 144,000.
