To me it is mere "theatrical display" as Mrs. White would call it I am sure.

"Do not encourage the men who are to engage in this work to think that they must proclaim the solemn, sacred message in a theatrical style. Let everything connected with the giving of the message for this time bear the divine impress. Let nothing of a theatrical nature be permitted, for this would spoil the sacredness of the work."

"I am instructed that we shall meet with all kinds of experiences and that men will try to bring strange performances into the work of God... These performances, which savored of the theatrical, were to have no place in the proclamation of the solemn messages entrusted to us." Evangelism,137,138.

I am of the opinion that this video falls under the "strange performances into the work of God" category.

Nothing to do with imagination but with revelation.

Can you honestly picture the Saviour using "rap" talk to draw the youth? I don't think so.

sky

Revelation????

I'm not sure what rap talk is but of course he can use various means of expression to draw people to him.

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

"The precious Gospel, which it has cost so much to bring to the world, is abused... There is, with some, rapid talking, with others a thick, indistinct utterance." Evangelism,147.

this video: Rapid talking with the kind of music that usually accompanies rap talking and singing with sounds and visual effects that are theatrical, for the theater.

To be sure, this video savours of a "theatrical display" no one can deny.

I would call this an exception rather than the rule... To some nowadays this might be the only language they understand.

Not saying that this should be done like this in church, though. There is a beauty that shines through a simple message given by an instrument (speaker) who is non-glitzy. There is also a drawing power, too- for me, at least.

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

I do believe this would be called 'reaching' to reinforce a bias!

Evangelists use theatrics in their style quite often...I'm speaking of SDA. It's a method used to get peoples attention and to keep it from wondering, to reinforce a statement, etc.

Dennis said, "So, Jesus saves ALL mankind in spite of their choices, but especially those that 'believe'? Is this true, and if so how?"

Did not Jesus say, "I am the way, the truth, and the life."

Then He is the life of everything that lives.

These statements were directed at seventh-day adventists telling them what to do and what not to do. Looks like they rejecting the light! They are still doing it.

Sky makes a valid point about theatrics, and it IS overdone with some Adventist Pastors.

But I'm still OK with this video considering the target audience, time and place have to be considered.

NO! He is the Way, the Truth and the Life ONLY for those that choose Him as their WAY, their TRUTH and their LIFE.

There are two types of 'breath'; 'nephish', which is the animal breath that God puts into all living creatures which allows them to live for a time on the earth; the other type of breath is 'N'shamah', which is the spirit that allows communication between man and God. This spirit He gives only to those that obey Him, and in obeying receive the Holy Spirit by 'new' birth. Not everyone that says they have been born of the Spirit actually has been; only those that demonstrate obedience will achieve that 'birth'. This is the same birth that the Woman of Rev. 12 gave to Jesus; that Woman is the Holy Spirit. If we are to become brothers and sisters of Jesus we must become born of the same Spirit that gave Jesus birth. Only then will we enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

MM, sky is doubtless talking about the fact that everything that lives, lives ONLY because of Christ, whether they realize it or not.

"For in Him we move and live and have our being."

That's a different quality of life from the "eternal life" referred in 1 John 5: 11-13.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Thats right, it is not eternal life and yet it is written, "All created beings live by the will and power of God. They are recipients of the life of the Son of God." 1 S.M.302.

In Christ all created beings, and that includes the angels, good or evil, live and move and have their being.

"Not only is He the Originator of all but He is the life of everything that lives." Education,197.

He is both physical and spiritual life, all in all.

The answer to that question proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that He is indeed the life of everything that lives.
