Members phkrause Posted May 23, 2012 Author Members Posted May 23, 2012 I think your right! What they have for an answer is: Tie him with seven green withs (or fresh thongs) (Judges 16:7) What was the name of the prisoner freed in preference to Jesus? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Administrators Gail Posted May 23, 2012 Administrators Posted May 23, 2012 I just happened to be at that spot in my Bible reading last night and saw that, too, about the green thongs. I was going to say something about being bound with a green thong, but repented... LOL I don't quite understand the difference between a green thong and a new rope (the next thing he told her), but I think I was close but no cigar. On to the next: The name of the prisoner who was freed instead of Jesus was Barabbas. Interesting, but I would guess that Barabbas meant, Son of Father or Daddy. Instead, the crowd wanted the blood of the Son of our Heavenly Father. Ironic! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause Posted May 23, 2012 Author Members Posted May 23, 2012 Barabbas is it. (Matt 27:16-26) What did Jesus mean by the "sign of Jonah"? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Members phkrause Posted May 28, 2012 Author Members Posted May 28, 2012 Well I guess no one wants to give it a shot? Esther (Est 8:9)(The king's secretaries were summoned at that time, on the twenty-third day of the third month, the month of Sivan; and a decree was written according to everything Mordekhai ordered concerning the Jews, to the army commanders, governors and officials of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, 127 provinces, to each province in its script and to each people in their language, also to the Jews in their script and language.) Administrators Gail Posted May 28, 2012 Administrators Posted May 28, 2012 Wow! That would be a challenge to memorize! Well, we had quite a discussion about who entered the tomb first. I at first said, John, because he outran Peter (Pete was old...) But John 20 says that John didn't actually go IN to the tomb, but Peter went straightway in. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
