John Stewart tends to be more convincing because he causes people to laugh - not because he advances a more thought-out argument.

And how can one laugh, unless one sees the absurity of the positions that Jon Stewart brings out? And that is why he does advance a more thought out arguement.... He takes the opposing view point and..and.. juxipositons it......Oh, what's the use? I am amazed.....I am just the idiot who sees something that you don't...and my jaw drops...and I wonder in amazement...

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.

I think "won't" would be a better word than "don't." I choose not to watch vulgar comedians. I certainly don't need to watch Jon Stewart to understand liberal ideology. I don't watch SNL either. I have repented of that.

But as we can see, some folk can be far nastier, and much more vile and disgusting than John Stewart without ever uttering a single bit of profanity, crudeness, vulgarity or obscenity.

It doesn't take profanity to be mean-spirited, hateful, and contemptuous.

I'll take a good-natured cusser any day...

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

I am not one that believes cussing itself is a sin. Of course, taking the Lord's name in vain is but much cussing does not use the Lord's name in vain. Cussing is disrespectful and often provocative. It does not bare the hallmarks of an educated dialogue.

Interesting to not care to listen to someone foul mouthed is mean spirited, hateful and contemptuous.

Wonder what description would fit well describing your post.

If you enjoy listening to him that is your free choice.Just as it should be for those that believe he is foul mouthed and don't care to or find it necessary to find "sound arguments" thru a foul mouthed comedian.

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.
