SivartM Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Oh, the irony... Don't you realize that if you are guaranteeing a quality of life for those who don't try, and those to do try and fail, that you are guaranteeing everyone for there is no one left other than those who do succeed? This incentivizes those who are lazy to do nothing for they are guaranteed their needs. It's pure lunacy to encourage lazy people to not work. Quote "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar WildeDo to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." - Jesus
Overaged Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Thats quite true; but it looks like joeb was just speaking for himself and giving his own experience as an example. He didn't say every non christian was like that... Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." There's a far stretch from helping people who don't have work, and encouraging people to not work. It's like saying that helping people to exercise would only encourage them to eat more. Or that saving people from drowning would only encourage them not to learn how to swim on their own. It's silly. There are people who genuinely can't get work, because they are ugly, uneducated, sick, and etc... and this system leaves them out on the streets. I don't think that helping those people would constitute discouraging them from being better. Quote

I worked with those homeless in the alleys and the overpasses of a large Canadian city for two years. They would all back you on this statement. Overaged Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Quote: I've worked in hospitals... that is when I rail against what you say, Joeb. It's stupid, it's judgemental, and it's truely anti-Christian. It's with holding help when help is available. It's a refusial to help those who desire help and it's making judgements about people that we have no business making.... [/quote'] Joeb was not saying what you say he did. I wonder who is really being so judgmental here? All joeb said was that it is "lunacy" to encourage lazy people to NOT work; and you are so judgmental that you call him antichristian, stupid, etc, just for that?? Wow. You and another poster here seem quite bent on smearing joeb's character, just because you can't stop twisting what he says...You need to get a grip on reality and remember it is the mark of the beast to lie and slander like this.
