Overaged Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 "Many many" is an emphatic ruse not even based on the "philosophy of science; and it paints a picture totally foreign to the reality. I don't mean to argue with you; but to dissociate the parents sexuality, and family situation from this kind of thing with an eleven year old child simply does not make sense. I understand what you mean though re the philosophy of science. It is important to take that into consideration - but when it is used as a debate tool; it kind of loses it's flavor. Dr. Shane Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 You know a lot of little boys don't like girls until they go into puberty. Letting the boy go into puberty may just solve the problem. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Dr. Shane Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 the suspected causes of homosexuality in Christian counseling circles does not sit so much with the parent's sexuality as much as the type of loving relationship (or lack of) between the child and parent and the introduction of sexual abuse or erotica at a young age. I don't want to mischaracterize anything. Most of the Christian material on the subject I have read and those I have spoken with in the field do believe one is born with a pre-disposition but on top of that are the environmental factors I mentioned above. Moderators John317 Posted October 21, 2011 Author Moderators Posted October 21, 2011 One little quick question: how many children of heterosexual couples have experienced gender dysphoria? How do you account for that? No one is saying that hetersosexual parents don't have children who have gender dysphoria. Most of them-- in fact, almost all of them-- are born to heterosexual parents. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
olger Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 One little quick question: how many children of heterosexual couples have experienced gender dysphoria? How do you account for that? All are children of the first Adam, living a life of confusion and rebellion. When they come to Jesus, they(we) are adopted into a new family. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Mark Aurelius Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Bravus's question is completely a propos. This sexuality stuff if pretty confronting, but we don't know much about the formation of gender identity or sexual orientation, so I think it would be best to not immediately blame the sexual orientation of the parents. I feel sorry for the poor kid, not liking his own gender. Quote ἡ ἀλήθεια ἐλευθερώσει ὑμᾶς
