Well, Lev. 25:10-11 says fiftieth year. jubile kjv

In any case, what is so important if the cycle is actually 49 years?

Alchemy,

What is important is the fact that you would never hit another true Jubilee year. Which all the important new beginnings were. And that year is number one year of the next cycle of sevens but is also the fiftieth year that falls after a cycle of 7 times 7 years. Like BC 1437 the exodus, BC 457 the decree AD 34 Gospel to the Gentiles and many more. Then you can run it back to the the new beginning after the flood a new beginning and that is what a Jubilee yr. always is. That first year on earth was a Jubilee year, a new beginning.

I merely used it to show with certanity of how close to the end of this age we are and it is absolutely positive if you can get it through the cranium. I admit it is difficult at first but the study to see it is worthwhile.

Setting time, no way, reckoning time as He gave it to us, yes.

Well it makes more sense in that regard, as a pointer to the end of all things. I'm not sure it has a lot of value in that regard, but it is another of many yard sticks we could and can use to point to the "end is near".

More value than the other basics given by the bible that point to the time of the end? Maybe,, maybe not...

The 2,300 years certainly is a stalwart in that regard. Knowledge shall increase. Wars and rumors of wars. These and more comprise the basics. Recent new understanding of Daniel 11:40-45 I think is the most compelling sign, and far easier to understand than the obscure Jubilee calendar concept.

For those who have grown complacent about the "basics", it is doubtful some new take on illustrating how close we are will make much difference. But we are told by Sister White that a study of Daniel 11 will result in a "wake up call". I think mostly because of how relevant it is in terms of TODAYS news and world events. We can literally look at Fox News and SEE Daniel 11 being fulfilled right now! It is timely and easily understood (when presented properly). It doesn't take a ton of math and is able to reach the Christian and and non-Christian alike.

As to the few who find and follow the "narrow way", I don't let that bother me anymore. We know there will be a remnant of the remnant, it's just a fact. So when I teach, preach, counsel concerning these things to a large group, I understand I am really only talking to a few. It is for those "few" the message is given, the thing is, we don't know who the few are, so the entire group is worthy of our labor. God will sort them out in due time, our job is just deliver the message to all.

Gibs says,

"What is important is the fact that you would never hit another true Jubilee year."

That may or may not be true, it comes to close to "time setting" for me to use that illustration. No matter how reasonable it may be.

When is the next Jubilee year? And why won't we make it to that point?

You see, even though I believe we will be able to recognize the last generation, I don't believe we are in the last generation yet. What do you believe about this point?

Alchemy,

The last Jubilee yr. was 1994 and there will not be another Jubilee before this reign of sin is ended. Man was here on earth 5978 yrs then and 22 more is all that is needed to reach the 6,000 yrs and we would need 49 from 1994 to have another Jubilee.

There just is no doubt we are in the last generation. The Jubilee calendar is

solidly anchored and can't be moved one way or the other one Jubilee. Do the Math.

There is a slight possibility that it could be off one yr. one way or the other, but it don't look like it since Christ did die on the cross that middle yr. of that 70'th week of yrs. allotted to the Jews. You see when that week ended the next yr. should be a Jubilee yr. and it was, a new beginning, the gospel went to the Gentiles.

This is just one of the ways we can see we are at the finish line but this is the moat accurate I believe can be found.

I agree, but I don't see the need for a Jubilee calendar to come to that conculsion. But it's an interesting concept....

Gibs, Yes, I see your point about salvation being the real issue. Rev. 21:8 and 22:15 point out, however, what will happen to anyone with a lie or practicing a lie. So, since there is only one truth and it is absolute, then what is going to happen to all of the many different theories and opinions of those who are wrong about Revelation? After all, didn't Jesus come here to testify to the truth? (John 18:37)

Great discussion here, keep it up!

Gibs, you claim to believe in Ellen White.

"And He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week." The "week" here brought to view is the last one of the seventy; it is the last seven years of the period allotted especially to the Jews. During this time, extending from A.D. 27 to A.D. 34, Christ, at first in person and afterward by His disciples, extended the gospel invitation especially to the Jews. As the apostles went forth with the good tidings of the kingdom, the Saviour's direction was: "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 10:5, 6. {GC 327.2}

"In the midst of the week He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease." In A.D. 31, three and a half years after His baptism, our Lord was crucified. With the great sacrifice

328

offered upon Calvary, ended that system of offerings which for four thousand years had pointed forward to the Lamb of God. Type had met antitype, and all the sacrifices and oblations of the ceremonial system were there to cease. {GC 327.3}

The seventy weeks, or 490 years, especially allotted to the Jews, ended, as we have seen, in A.D. 34. At that time, through the action of the Jewish Sanhedrin, the nation sealed its rejection of the gospel by the martyrdom of Stephen and the persecution of the followers of Christ. Then the message of salvation, no longer restricted to the chosen people, was given to the world. The disciples, forced by persecution to flee from Jerusalem, "went everywhere preaching the word." "Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them." Peter, divinely guided, opened the gospel to the centurion of Caesarea, the God-fearing Cornelius; and the ardent Paul, won to the faith of Christ, was commissioned to carry the glad tidings "far hence unto the Gentiles." Acts 8:4, 5; 22:21. {GC 328.1}

Thus far every specification of the prophecies is strikingly fulfilled, and the beginning of the seventy weeks is fixed beyond question at 457 B.C., and their expiration in A.D. 34. From this data there is no difficulty in finding the termination of the 2300 days. The seventy weeks--490 days--having been cut off from the 2300, there were 1810 days remaining. After the end of 490 days, the 1810 days were still to be fulfilled. From A.D. 34, 1810 years extend to 1844. Consequently the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14 terminate in 1844. At the expiration of this great prophetic period, upon the testimony of the angel of God, "the sanctuary shall be cleansed." Thus the time of the cleansing of the sanctuary--which was almost universally believed to take place at the second advent--was definitely pointed out. {GC 328.2}

Not once does she, or the pioneers mention the 70 weeks as terminating in A.D. 33.

You seem to be in clear contradiction with the prophet. Or do you have some new, divine, revelation from God that has showed you that A.D. 33 was the termination, and that "some how" Ellen White "didn't have all the LIGHT" on this subject?

That's what the feast keepers throw at us. "Ellen White didn't have all the light on this subject!", yet out of another side of their mouth they use her writings to try and prove the feasts. Obviously, then, she did have light on the matter if they are using her writings to prove them. Feast keepers constantly shoot themselves in the foot like this.

But let's stay on track with your dates. You are clearly contradicting Ellen White. She never once says 33 A.D., she says 34 A.D.

Lysimachus,

The math proves it ended AD 33 and I can't help it if she missed the math on it as many do. That is a mistake that the majority make and maybe wasn't her math and who can tell now, any way it's a moot point, the math used is wrong, period.

What I want you and others to consider is, Why do you get a different number counting down than you do up? You count down starting with the year 457 through to 1 and get 456 yrs. but if you count up 1 up through 357 you get 457 yrs.

Just like you count from 1 up through 33 you get 33 yrs now shouldn't you get 33 yrs if you count back down, of course you should unless you made a mistake. The same goes for 457 down to 1 or 1 back to 457.

There is no "0" yr. period, it comes down through BC 1 and the next year is AD 1

Hey the math don't lie, but people make mistakes doing it.

I rest any more discussion on this as there is no more to say.

Have it however you would like it, as I can't argue with the true math.

HA HA HA,,, sorry, I had to chuckle. The suggestion that we should take Gibs math over the PROPHETS is worthy of more than a chuckle actually, it's a belly laugh!

What if Dr. Rich or Miz3 has a different take on the numbers? Or some web site that lays it all out in grand fashion? Just WHO are we supposed to believe? I'll go with Ellen White on this one, thanx for asking.

Igakusei,

What I gave you is something you seem to have not grasp. It's OK by me if you take no interest in the Jubilee Calendar. It is the time clock God has given us and man has chosen to forget it and not to give the land it's Sabbaths and to observe the Jubilees. Man for the most part reject the Seventh day Sabbath the same. It amounts to rebellion.

The math of the Jubilee Calendar just reveals without a doubt how long man has inhabited this poor old sin broken down destroyed earth within a yr. But it appears to not be off any as the fact is that the accounting hits all known Jubilee years.

I laid it out for your consideration, It's up to you what you make of it. I am not setting any time, just showing time accounting.

Yes Gibs, I would agree with your findings that 1994 was the last date for the JC. Good job.

Posted

Gibs you might want to study with Dr. Rich, as you have not yet figured out the exact dates of the end time events and the coming of Christ. I believe Dr. Rich has it pinpointed to almost the very day, with charts and all kinds of stuff laying it out.

Or, you could give up this foolishness and come home.

ClubV12,

We may use what is given us or we can leave it lay and that is the whole trouble all up through, man would rather leave lay what God has given and take up something else. Man wanted a king of his own and he didn't need any king of his own and that is the trouble now there are many kings men choose over God.

You see my king is God and I follow Him and Him only do I follow and for sure I am home with my King as only it can be until this trial of our faith is over and the faithful will be with the Great King they have chosen.

That time I think is closer than most realize.

I will not leave aside the Lords messenger, Sister White and her inspired counsel on end time events, and THAT is the trouble with men since the beginning. Discounting the prophets and going out on their own. The Holy Spirit works through the counsel of the brethren, light rarely comes to one man and one man only. Unless that man is a prophet. Do you make that claim, Gibs?

Posted

Clubv12,

Even if I was a prophet I wouldn't make that claim, they don't do that, a prophet is only the messenger, God is the prophet.

He has 144,000 on hand now, notice these are "the servants of our God".

Re 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

From what they go about it is seen that these are His Servants the Prophets. They are a special number, later John brings out the inmunerable number to man.

Re 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Oh,,, I forgot about your take on the 144,000. We part ways on that issue as well. I'll take the Lords messenger's advice on that, "silence is eloquent". While I will strive to be among that group, we don't know of whom it will be compiled or when exactly. I would not assume for a second that I or anyone else is in or will be in that esteemed group now,,, or in the future.

I do have an idea of how the "1335 Futurists" see the 144,000 and in general I find their doctrine on that opposed to what Sister White had to say on the subject.

One should not call themselves a prophet, well said my friend. Let me rephrase the question: Have you, like Loughborough perhaps, had divine dreams, revelations or visions? One doesn't have to be a prophet to receive such from the Lord.

Posted

Many Clubv12 are having dreams and visions and many no doubt from another master, but we will know if we know his Word and by the fruits.

Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

I don't see that I could ever stand with you on prophecy if you think it is all history. You are about to see the last of them come to pass very, very shortly. It is all in the prophecy of that Word and no need of any messenger need be sent if men would study the Bible and EGW said that of her day.

Yes it is all there right down to the consumation.

Gibs, the 144,000 are the first fruits, the bond servants of Jesus Christ.

The "Kingdom of Heaven" as found in Matthew 25:1-13 and Rev. 2 and 3 are the servants for the bride, as it is their job to get bride ready during the time of trouble.

Both the 144k (Priests) and the KOH are found in Rev. 5:9-10. They are two groups as it is the 144k who are the 'few' found in Rev. 3:4-5 who are the 144k. Notice that the 144k wake up the sleeping KOH who never saw Jesus come like a thief? This event is before the time of trouble. The coming in the clouds is after the 7th trumpet blows and all is over.

Rev. 7:9-17 is about another group, the multitude from every race, nation and country, who, because of what the 144k and KOH teach (the gospel of the kingdom which is not the same as what Paul taught), overcome sin during the first 37 months (new moons) of the tribulation and these are called the Bride.

There are your three groups as presented and found in Rev. 17:14. Enjoy!

Gibs, please listen closely.

If you were right in your calculations, you can be sure the sound scholars and mathematicians would have caught it by now.

Please understand 456/457 BC Tishri to Tishri was a sabbatical year, not a jubilee year. If you need confirmation of this, I refer you here (summary), and especially here. You will be hard-pressed to refute this.

Additionally, since the decree went into effect in the fall of 457 BC, we start the 70-week prophecy there. That first year then is 457/456 BC Tishri to Tishri. Yet more, since the decree went into effect in the fall of 457 BC, we start the 70-week prophecy there. That first year then is 457/456 BC Tishri to Tishri. We should use a fall-to-fall calendar because that's how the sabbatical years work. They go from fall to fall.

You sound like you are using inclusive reckoning for BC dates which is a little confusing. It would be better to say, "From Tishri 457 to Tishri 456 is year 1," etc.

Now if Tishri 457 to Tishri 456 is year 1, then Tishri 1 BC to Tishri 1 AD is year 456, not year 457. One must then add 34 years to that to get 490, not 33.

Therefore, we see that although the Lord's prophet Ellen White may not have known her math, the Lord inspired her to write these dates.

Why? Because God had already done the math LONG before Ellen White, and she was only writing what the Lord impressed her--despite her exactly knowing the ins-and-outs of how we arrive at those dates.

It is my hope that you will be willing to face this unswerving fact.

God bless.

BC 458 was a Sabbatical yr., 457 was the Jubilee yr, and 456 was the yr. after the Jubilee. So counting down to BC 1, BC 457 is the first yr to count as a # 1 and then BC 456 is # 2 and the next BC 455 is # 3 in your count down and finally when you count in the yr. BC 1 in you will have counted 457 years. To prove it you could count back then counting in BC 1 through BC 57 and again your count is 457.

You only need now 33 more yrs to come to AD 34 not including it and is the Jubilee. You have already counted BC 1 so in your count up you continue the count with AD 1 through AD 33 and you have counted 33 yrs. 457 + 33 and equals 490 yrs. I don't know how to make it clearer. It is absolute and can't be moved.

That's your problem right there. We just nailed the whole crux. But as I have showed, 458 was not a sabbatical year. It was 457/456 tishri to tishri. Read the links I have provided. As long as you hold on to this fallacy, you will forever come to wrong conclusions in your calculations.

Your whole premise is wrong -- using the Jubilee calendar for the 70 weeks, and it simply is not so.

When Were the Sabbatical Years? - Re-examines Ben Zion Wacholder's evidence for his sabbatical dates, and concludes that the standard position was correct after all. Using Josephus, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, ancient inscriptions and documents, the Talmud, and Maimonides, when the sabbatical years were can be determined. And this all has a bearing on Daniel 9's 70 weeks.

I implore you to read that article.

I'm telling you now you will never convince me different, that is the reason for the day for a year prophecy. You may sell it to someone else but the Jubilee calendar in anchord so solid it is unmoveabe. You mess with it and it will hit no Jubilee yrs and there is many of them.

I am not going to try to convince you no further. Adam was here on the first Jubilee yr. a new beginnig, he lived into his 931'st yr. and lived 19 cycles, the next was a Jubilee yr. and then on up you will hit all known Jubilee yrs. Our last one was our year 1994.

Go and believe as you like, I am set and sealed here.
