cooldude Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 How does the 'Family Values' crowd's obsession with sex square with the Song of Solomon? Quote
olger Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Solomon's description of intimacy with his favorite wife adds to the sanctity of marriage and quite simply reveals that God is not the enemy of physical intimacy, but rather the author of it. As to polygamy, that was not God's will. Not a'tall. Those who participated in it were known in scripture as being men of faith BEFORE their polygamy. In all cases of polygamy there were consequences and regrets later on. rejoice always, g Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Dr. Shane Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 We have to remember too that prior to modern medicine women outnumbered men much more than they do today. More baby boys died from childhood illnesses and more men died in dangerous lines of work. Because societies were male-dominated, it made it very difficult for a single woman or widow to be able to support themselves. Thus polygamy was a solution to a societal problem that doesn't exist today. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

LifeHiscost Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Quote: If you are prone to look at porn sites, there are porn filters that can be installed on your computer. Perhaps different strokes for different folks.I've found the addictions largely disappeared when I became addicted to kneeling by my bedside as I rose in the morning, inviting the Father to enter my heart and take control of those things of that day I felt so helpless to control. I'm not quite so disciplined as that now, but the habit of turning to God at any moment of the day has literally given me the joy of the Lord and His presence on a continuing basis. "...“Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”" Nehemiah 8:10 NLT God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
