Ed, we should, as Sister White said, be conscious of the fact that all we say and do is now being recorded, and will be measured and judged. But the final decision of who is to receive the seal of God and who is to receive the mark of the beast, has not been made yet. The judgment in Heaven does not come to that point until the test over the image to the beast can come to all now living on earth; and that test over the image to the beast is only possible when the Sunday Law is enacted, forcing the choice upon everyone whether to obey God or man, whether to worship the Creator or the Creature.

This "will be" should be "NOW" being judged to agree with the prophets words. I agree that people will be tested over the "image beast" a length of time AFTER the image beast is initated and a long time before the 144,000 are sealed, but for SDA their testing will not be THEN. It is now, "the door is closed to those who would not enter, it only remains open to those who have never hear truth before" See 9T 97

I was referring to ED's using the quote from 1T. She is talking about how to prepare for the latter rain. The latter rain has not yet occured. It explains who will be saved and who will be lost. But it tells us nothing about when the judgment of the living will occur.

Ed. as usual, you take part of a sentence and make it say what you want it to say. But when looks at the entire passage, one discovers that it has nothing to do with the church being judged now.

The mercy of God is shown in His long forbearance. He is holding back His judgments, waiting for the message of warning to be sounded to all. Oh, if our people would feel as they should the responsibility resting upon them to give the last message of mercy to the world, what a wonderful work would be done! {9T 97.3}

She is referring to people who have heard the "testing truths". Perhaps they attended evangelistic campaings. Maybe they had a SDA neighbor who witnessed to them. Maybe they watched 3abn. But they heard about our key doctrines and or had an opportunity to hear and rejected them. These are the people to whom the door of mercy is closed.

The burden of her article is to awaken SDA's to take our message to everyone. God is holding back His final judgments because we have not done our job.

Again, this has nothing to do with WHEN the judgment starts with the living.
