What should have happened to the banks during the recent troubles?

What should have happened to the banks during the recent troubles?

Like every other badly run or organized business. Out.They should not have been bailed out

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

And especially General Motors. Should have NEVER been bailed out! Gov't should not be in the business of bailing out private companies. WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS, NO LESS!!!!!!

General Motors would simply have filed for bankruptcy protection, streamlined, kicked ot the garbage and gone on.Worst case scenerio other auto manufacturers would have absorbed General Motors

! Gov't should not be in the business of bailing out private companies.

The problem is that it has always been in that business. Governments of all complexions have given bailouts.

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

Even with it's flaws, capitalism is the best system we have.

I for one am waiting to hear the solution to capitalism. It has flaws and fraud,it has good things and helps many.It has been praciticed since the fall and suddenly everyone acts as if it is a new evil just invented with the sole intention of depriving some.

Everyone, including pastors care for the needs of their families because of a direct result of capitalism.

The pure capitalists will tell you that government intervention is what caused the recent troubles with the banks in the first place. I am sure that is part of it but I certainly am not one that believes in a totally free-market system with little or no regulation.

UNIONS = dinosaur1.gif

Without those unions you wouldn't have the labor rights you now enjoy.

Nonsense Robert.

Please don't make such ignorant statements before you check your facts.

Wikipedia: Labour laws arose due to the demands for workers for better conditions, the right to organize....

Zactly!

I'll be real happy when China/India or Mexico takes your job. Then I'll send you a beer (or near-beer) for you to cry in.

Really Robert, that would make you happy?

Labor unions were probably the easier way to get many of our rights that we take for granted today. Labor unions got us worker's compensation and a 40-hour work week. The other option, which other nations have used, is to overthrow the government. So in a way we can thank the labor unions for preserving the Constitutional form of government that we have.

Only so that your pride would be placed in the dust where it belongs.
