olger Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 What should have happened to the banks during the recent troubles? They should have been allowed to fail. Zing. If we prevent people from failing, we also prevent them from succeeding. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
bonnie Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Yes, and unless you are hiring illegals (out of greed) your employees have rights. That's so you want take advantage of them. Employee's rights do not supercede that of employer's. A fair wage for a job well done.Safe working conditions.Unless of course the employee wants to "enjoy" the headaches, sacrifice, and trying to weather economic storms with the employer.Perhaps as a employee they are willing to wait for a paycheck as the employer often does getting up and running profitably.Funny,we never had one offer to do that,no matter how tough times were Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Dr. Shane Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Employee's rights do not supercede that of employer's. Actually OSHA regulations only apply to employees. Many owners do incorporate their companies and make themselves employees of the company and thus they fall under OSHA but that is by their own choice. Remember what OSHA stands for. When a worker sees an OSHA representative he or she cries out "Our savior has arrived." Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity

Many call the government their savior, there isn't anything new about that.Look at the trouble that will get them in the end. I am glad as a worker you have memorized the phrase Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Dr. Shane Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 The statistics on worker safety since OSHA was created are very impressive - especially in construction. In the decades following the creation of OSHA, as the population grew and the economy boomed, the number of workers in construction constantly increased. During that same time the number of fatalities in construction constantly decreased. There are many women that are not widows because of OSHA. There are many children that are not orphans because of OSHA. A bit of government regulation can be a good thing. Many children have daddies to tuck them in at night because of it. I think I have consistently said an employee deserves a fair wage and safe working conditions. Local, state and government does have a limited role,I have consistently said that. There are those that want more and more government control under the guise of "fairness" Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
