Lysimachus Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 A new video by Dennis Priebe has been uploaded. For me, it puts ALL the pieces of the puzzle together: ~Lysimachus (Marcos S.) Author of article, Vindicating the Year-Day Principle of Prophetic Interpretation (see attachment for article) Currently writing a book, Vindicating the Historical School of Prophetic Interpretation Founder of the largest and fastest SDA Apologetics Group on Facebook, Seventh-Day Adventism - Defending the Pillars of the Faith Writer and apologetics contributor at Adventist Defense League Vindicating the Year-Day Principle of Prophetic Interpretation.pdf
Administrators Gail Posted January 18, 2012 Administrators Posted January 18, 2012 I'm having a hard time downloading it... but will try to have it in the background. I'm interested in what he has to say! Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Administrators Gail Posted January 18, 2012 Administrators Posted January 18, 2012 The clip stalls at about 38 sec. at Youtube also! Weird! Someone's not wanting me to watch it, I think! No worries, though, because I've already read and heard lots of GOOD news about the Judgment. Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted January 18, 2012 Administrators Posted January 18, 2012 It's working now- thanks! :) Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted January 18, 2012 Administrators Posted January 18, 2012 I like it!! It petered out at about 42 minutes, but that was enough for me to get the gist of it. Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Gibs Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Yes on Dennis Priebie, he has preached this message for many years and not fallen from it any that I can see. All need to sit up and pay attention to this presentation. Lysimachus, you found a gem here in my see and opinion. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Administrators Gail Posted January 18, 2012 Administrators Posted January 18, 2012 Something bizarre just happened to me... Just had a deja vu moment with the last post... nothing important, just the feeling that I've seen it before. Thanks, you guys! :) Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
miz3 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Alright Lysimachus, I listened to every single word this Dennis Priebe spoke in the video of your OP. Here is my take on this: 1. He contrasts only Greek Philosophy with Ellen White's theology. Unfortunately these are not the only two ways to look at the issues he raises. 2. This is typical SDA Church .org presentation and reinforces the view that the SDA Church .org places Ellen White far above the Bible. Every "authoritative quote" Dennis Priebe made was from Ellen White. There were a couple of other quotes from some other human sources but Dennis Priebe used Ellen White as his "ultimate source and authority". NOT ONE SINGLE QUOTE FROM SCRIPTURE (THE BIBLE)! Dennis Priebe had no Bible with him nor did he make even "one" little quote from the Bible to support his views. Thus, I can only conclude that the you Lysimachus like the rest of the SDA Church .org hold Ellen White and her writings and beliefs above those of the Bible. 3. The Bible and the Bible only does not support what this Dennis Priebe holds to be the "gospel". Just to begin with his view of Justification is totally against what Paul states in Romans chapter five. Dennis Priebe view of the Nature of Jesus Christ is not supported by the Bible and the Bible only because he takes only the words of Ellen White as his authority. He cited not a single word from the the Bible let alone a single verse. 4. There is nothing in what this Dennis Priebe said that shows the Sanctuary/the Investigative Judgment/1844 is a valid doctrine. He referred to these items only as resulting knowledge from his main theme of "perfection". 5. There were times through out the video that I found myself laughing at how foolish this man was while he was thinking to himself how profound his views are. This Dennis Priebe is full of high sounding words but very little substance and cogency, if any at all. This is sooooooo sad I need to stop. How can someone be this full of nothing and while thinking they have the truth? It was basically forty-nine minutes of empty air. If I were you, I wouldn't associate my real name with this kook. Are you serious? Does this person speak for the SDA Church .org? I hope not. This Dennis Priebe is just too embarrassing. This is a joke, right?
Gibs Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Yes Gail, Dennis is an old hand in Adventism and it is one of his standing messages and I think is new on you tube and very clear in image and sound quality. It is a furtherance of getting out his messages. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Lysimachus Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 I will briefly concede, however, that I do think he should have interwoven scripture in his sermon a few times. I know that's what you wanted to hear. Nonetheless, his logic is spot on. ~Lysimachus (Marcos S.) Moderators John317 Posted January 18, 2012 Moderators Posted January 18, 2012 Excellent link. Priebe has it right. Thanks so much for posting this. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Administrators Gail Posted January 18, 2012 Administrators Posted January 18, 2012 I for one don't mind the historical take on this sermon. It helps me understand the angle that family and friends who believe this way come from. One thing that is making itself clear- as he said that the paradigm one has adopted will determine whether and/or how one will be able to understand the sanctuary/judgment message. I'm seeing that more as time goes on. That makes sense, too, comparing to experience. Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
miz3 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 What are these "other" ways to look at the issues he raises? The Bible and the Bible only perspective for one.
miz3 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 He didn't need to. The point of criticism by men such as Dale Ratzlaff was "Ellen White's logic". They quoted her to argue with her logic, but did not use scripture themselves. His point was to show how their own logic falls flat on itself when one takes it to its furthest conclusion. You never ever do what Priebes did and that is to refute error with more error. The Bible and the Bible only is the only source able to make the claim of having TRUTH.
miz3 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 There is no contradiction with Romans Chapter 5. Try Hebrews 12:14, where it says "sanctification without no one will see the Lord". Paul in Romans 5 is not saying the whole human race was saved. Legally, the human race was purchased and ransomed IN Christ, but only those who take hold of that free gift and show it with their actions will be saved Dennis Priebes is in total contradiction with Romans chapter five. Romans chapter five says that God "Justified all humans" once and only once forever. Jesus Christ did this for all humanity past, present, and future. Humans have to do nothing in order to be saved. Unfortunately many humans either "reject" God's free gift in Jesus Christ and/or many humans try and do something themselves in order to be saved. Nothing that humans "DO" CAN SAVE THEM EVER. Whatever humans do will only cause them to be lost. Only God/Holy Spirit and Their efforts can save a human. This why only God will ever get the Glory because He did it all. All other methodologies are intended whether meant or not meant to give humans glory. In addition, Dennis Priebes is also wrong in regard to the Biblical Truth of Sanctification. This is because Priebes follows human theories instead of the Bible. Dennis Priebes never once even used the Bible to tell the Truth. This methodology of study will ALWAYS END IN FALSEHOOD.
miz3 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Dennis Priebe established the "basis" for WHY the Sanctuary/Investigative Judgment doctrine is REJECTED. And that has to do with the belief that we must strive to overcome every sin in our lives and claiming that this gives us "no assurance" of salvation. You see, it goes against their fleshly doctrine that all they have to do is "believe" with their mouth and a mere mental ascent to the truth, and then be saved! To believe according to what Sister White taught, that we must overcome sin in our lives and strive for perfection goes against their grain. Her writings in harmony with scripture. The real reason for the source of the rejection of this doctrine had to do with carnal reasoning--then later scriptural juggling was invented to try and dismantle the 1844 date as well--but that was not the REAL reason for rejecting the 1844 doctrine! The real reason was NOT because 1844 could not be proven. It was because they didn't like the doctrine that we are to put sin away from our lives, and strive for perfection. This is nothing more than jibberish/psychobabble. It is nothing more than an attempt to make those who reject the Sanctuary/Investigative Judgment/1844 to go on some "guilt trip" because they disagree and know that such stupid doctrines are not Biblical. Its an attempt to say "you will be lost and burn in hell" unless you line up with our view of these phony doctrines. SDA Church .org has employed this "tactic" in every "evangelistic thrust" to the general public. It is akin to the evangelist's alter call, when he says, "may no one leave this place unless they give their heart to God or they may be lost by being killed before the next day". Such tactics are despicable and not from God. No one knows when/what others should and should not believe by a certain time. Only God knows. To put such "guilt pressure" on people is just despicable. This tactic is the tactic being used by Dennis Priebe in his erroneous and stupid theory which has zero basis in the Bible and the Bible only. Satan loves it when SDA use such tactics to push their erroneous theory of the Sanctuary/Investigative Judgment/1844, just as satan was happy with the Jews and their man-made theories that they put on the people. Theories that even the Jewish Leaders themselves could not sustain. The same is true for the SDA Church .org and its unBiblical doctrines.
miz3 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 He referred to these items only as resulting knowledge from his main theme of "perfection". 5. There were times through out the video that I found myself laughing at how foolish this man was while he was thinking to himself how profound his views are.
Gibs Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Miz3, We would like to see what your see of these passages are, First this question was asked to "THAT CERTAIN SAINT" Palmoni, Da 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? and then Palmoni answers and gives him some plus information, namely, "then shall the sanctuary be cleansed". Da 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. Da 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision. Da 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision. Da 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. Da 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days. Da 8:27 And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it. Now I want to tell you something, D. Priebie can teach the same thing from those verses but for SDA's it is more preferable to get it from EGW. I can see it clearly from those verses and understood it before I knew of EGW. Wondering your view of it and if you don't have view it is OK but you must have or would not have responded so decidedly. Many don't have a view but pound that one, along with pounding one, give a better one is the best answer. Miz3, I admire your outspokenness, and unafraid to stand alone. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. miz3 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 You haven't even begun to understand Biblical orthodox Adventist soteriology miz3. It's not even worth trying to help you understand. You look at things from such surface angles that you cannot penetrate the deep beautiful truths of Christ's work in heaven on behalf of sinners. You desire to hang on to your carnal views of salvation that you have been saved once, and now you don't have to do anything at all to be saved. The serpent is whispering in your ear that you can partake of the fruit (sin), and you will not die. I might begin to "understand Biblical orthodox Adventist soteriology" if you, and Dennis Priebe would quote Scripture. However, you sent to a forty-nine minute string of Ellen White quotes which is not Biblical at all because no Scripture in this empty speech was ever quoted at all. NOT ONE SCRIPTURE WAS QUOTED. If no Scripture was quoted then tell me how this could be about "Biblical orthodox Adventist soteriology"? Only if the total base were built on the Bible and the Bible only could we say that it was "Biblical". Again, I reiterate, "NO SCRIPTURE WAS USED, NOT EVEN ONE TEXT". You seem to be very confused. Please tell me how it could be Biblical, when NOT ONE SCRIPTURAL TEXT WAS USED FROM THE BIBLE? Secondly, you say that "I hang to may carnal views" because I use the Bible and the Bible only. And your views are "spiritual" because you place Ellen White and her writings above the Bible and the Bible only. My friend Lysimachus it is not I that have carnal views because I use the Bible and Bible only. You on the other hand use the views grounded in the human source and you place the Bible under those human sources as only a "secondary source". It seems as if you are very confused. This always happens when you use human sources over the Bible and the Bible only because the Bible is the "ONLY TRUE WORD OF GOD".
miz3 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Excellent link. Priebe has it right. Thanks so much for posting this. So you believe that Ellen White is over the Bible in regard to Truth. I have noticed that, that is the true case by reading your many posts. It is a shame that the Bible is only a "secondary source" in the SDA Church .org.
CoAspen Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Quote: It is a shame that the Bible is only a "secondary source" in the SDA Church .org. That is totally false! It is not taught but refuted time and time again. You may find individuals who use her in that way but it is not endorsed by the SDA church. Do not blame the .org for the misuse by some of its members. I have been a member my whole life and have never heard any church official or document claiming to put EGW above the Bible, only the laity.

My friend we judge not by what the SDA Church .org "says", but we judge the the SDA Church .org by what it "practices". Such as the video of Dennis Priebe which is extremely typical of what most SDA in the SDA Church .org practice. So I am NOT TOTALLY FALSE. In FACT I AM TOTALLY CORRECT IN THAT THE BIBLE HAS BECOME THE "SECONDARY" SOURCE AND ELLEN WHITE THE PRIMARY SOURCE of the SDA Church .org.
Woody Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Just because someone like Dennis Priebe has done this - does not mean that the rest of us faithful SDAs fall for it miz3. May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
