Administrators Gail Posted January 25, 2012 Administrators Posted January 25, 2012 It wouldn't be the first time I've heard someone talk about Revelation's being written in the form of theatre. One person I know charted it all out into 7 acts. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause Posted January 26, 2012 Members Posted January 26, 2012 Excellent post Kevin, excellent points. Almost all theologians, SDA and non agree about Revelation and also Daniel being written in that form. Also Messianic Jews believe that as well. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
doug yowell Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 What a sheltered life you must live. New York is home, and relatives out on the west coast that I visit a lot and some in Norway. Lived and worked in Israel in a multi religion ministry consiting of Christians, Jews and Muslims, studied with a Methodist Archaeologist who was a professor at Hebrew University. Was a Chaplain Assistant in the US Army and a Psychiatric Tech and then Psychiatric Nurse in the Air Force Reserves, work for the State of New York and have lived and worked in Japan and Germany. My favorite former girlfriends I knew from Israel, Japan, girls who have been Catholic, Buddists, different Protestants, how much more do I need to expirence before I'm no longer living a sheltered life? You need to hang out with miz more often? Quote
doug yowell Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 In Ellen White's day it was the "thing" to spread the Gospel (truth) in a context of "fear". "Fear" them into the SDA Church .org and then keep them afraid to maintain control. Diabolical at the least! Quote

LifeHiscost Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 There's no reason to fear those things if a person is truly "in [union with] Christ." Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Administrators Naomi Posted January 30, 2012 Administrators Posted January 30, 2012 Quote: The above is an excerpt from a Yahoo news article, just happening today. For at least 10 people, for all practical purposes today was both the end of the world and the second coming of Christ. I would venture to say there were few or none among those ten who weren't surprised or unready for either event, when it could have been so easy to meet the criteria necessary to meet both safely, for eternity. Yes, each day many lives suddenly end. None of us know if we have 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days ..... It's what we do this minute, this day that counts. We may not have another opportunity. Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Gibs Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 To Miz3, Rev 16:15 is a verse that is after the 6'th plague and before the 7'th and makes it clear to me when Jesus comes. Re 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. And then notice "HE" gathered them together, Re 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. Re 16:17 ¶ And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. It leaves no question in my mind, the context isn't broken. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Dr. Rich Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 What? Please explain to me how the coming like a thief can possibly be the same as the coming in the clouds? And if you can, explain why even those who are now known as the Kingdom of Heaven (SDA) do not see Jesus come like a thief as found in Matthew 25:1-13? Jesus said once that when Jesus comes ALL eyes will see Him come, yet when Jesus left, only His servants (disciples) saw Him leave and the angel told them that Jesus would come back just like He left. So please tell me, how can this be? Quote
BobRyan Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Dan 7 - Coming in the clouds to the Ancient of days. Is that same "Coming to his Temple" to sit as purifier and judge that Malachi speaks of - It happens in way unknown to those on earth - no signs light up for us here when the judgment passes over to the cases of the living. in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.

So please tell me, how can this be? Dr Rich, not sure that that's what that statement means. I always thought that the coming as a thief had more to do with events that take place before our eyes and are rejected as "whatever," instead of being the same as the actual coming of Jesus in the clouds. Those that are still living and are ready for his return will definitely see him coming in the clouds.
