BobRyan Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Wondering how many of the regular posters in the Theology section are attending the Adventist Church and are supportive if the 28 as well of the GC and local conferences. Please let us know your status. I am an SDA church member - attending a local church and I am one of the church officers. I am also a voting member of this years local conference constituency meeting. in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." Overaged Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I am still not sure exactly what we are being "counted" for in this thread; however, I am always glad to say I am a Seventh-day Adventist, and I love all their Biblical teachings, and the people. This church is my spiritual home; I was not born into it, but when I was born again; I was. Sometimes I go to church; other times life circumstances keep me away; and then this forum is my church; or, sometimes, even :the wilderness of life's trials is my only church; but I love what God has done in my life through this church; and I will never stop telling the world how Jesus walks "amongst the seven lampstands," (Rev 1:12-13, 20, and 2:1) and how He has led me to the Adventist Church, and to this amazing people. My life would have been over a long time ago if it wasn't for Seventh-day Adventists who love Jesus and practice what they preach. "A Shelter In The Storm," is truly a song that would apply here. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ
Neil D Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 There is one more thing to say about this place.... Long ago, there was a core group....Let's see, some of you would consider Woody as a long time member.Or maybe Shane.....Well, I can say that some of the oldest members were member of the core group...Stan, Amelia, Gail, Naomi...[Not sure if Tom was of that group or not. Not sure about PLaney either..possibly] ....But there were others...who were friends and the joking around and the topics were easy... Of course, there were some proods here, these were those who held up the STaNDARDS of the CHURCH.... There were others who tried to infect others with thier brand of negative theology, the conspiracy theorists who just KNEW that there was the great possiblility that there were JESUITS hiding in here.....we made fun of those beliefs...and the obnoxious ones were removed from the forum after a LOT of chances to change thier tunes..... But it proved to be a loosing battle...There were just tooo many conspiracy theorists, negative people, negative theology, people disgruntled with the church, and disgruntled with people/leadership. It was a sad time as more and more were allowed in.... ....and some of the origional folk got tired of hearing the same ol' rhetoric....and they left...Anyone remember Madeline? and her husband? They were from England, and NICE people....... ...Some of the people that are here might remember a few of those who were standards here...... CoAspen, Do you remember some of those? Gail? Amelia? Tom? PLaney? Why did they leave? They were solid people...They were Adventists in deed and in spirit....Some of you THINK you are adventist in deed and spirit....And dare I say, some of you are actually wolves in sheep's clothing....? Just thought some of you might want to remember those who left...and why.... Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. George Bernard Shaw

Overaged Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Neil, fear not. I am a goat in wolves clothing... A few years ago we had two pet goats, pigmy goats to be exact. I sold them to some neighbors who ate goat meat when they ate a brand new gel-tec seat cover I had just bought for my bicycle. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..."
