Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the citizens of the most powerful empire the world had ever known. This was a letter to the Romans.

When the books of the Bible were originally written, they did not contain chapter or verse references. The Bible was divided into chapters and verses to help us find Scriptures more quickly and easily. The chapter divisions commonly used today were developed by Stephen Langton, an Archbishop of Canterbury. Langton put the modern chapter divisions into place in around A.D. 1227. The Wycliffe English Bible of 1382 was the first Bible to use this chapter pattern. Since the Wycliffe Bible, nearly all Bible translations have followed Langton's chapter divisions. The Hebrew Old Testament was divided into verses by a Jewish rabbi by the name of Nathan in A.D. 1448. Robert Estienne, who was also known as Stephanus, was the first to divide the New Testament into standard numbered verses, in 1555. Stephanus essentially used Nathan's verse divisions for the Old Testament. Since that time, beginning with the Geneva Bible, the chapter and verse divisions employed by Stephanus have been accepted into nearly all the Bible versions.

Now, according to the New Testament chapter divisions made around 1227 by Stephen Langton, Archbishop of Canterbury in the New testament and according to the New Testament verses division made by Robert Estienne in 1555, Romans 6:23 and September 11, 2001 carry the same message. Just take into account that 6+2+3 = 11 Now if we add the first and the last numbers 6 + 3 we get a 9 (Jesus is the first and the last, the Alpha and the Omega). In that message to citizens of the most powerful empire on earth, at that time, came the following warning to the human race: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Something worth considering: The message to the most powerful empire during Paul’s time in Romans 6:23 is the same message that fanatic Muslims gave to the United States of America in September 11, 2001. Something that we should take into account is that the 19 terrorists who wrote with their lives and with their blood that message were people brought up to believe that all Muslims leaving the Muslim faith and accepting Jesus Christ as their savior deserve to die and that they should be executed.

Now the question comes why all those 11’s and 9’s?: The answer is that there is a difference on how we humans and how God look at things. This is established in 1 Samuel: But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 6:16).

It is not that here is anything special in the numbers 11 and 9. The issue is that in order for us to understand any message this message needs to be re-enforced in many different ways and on numerous occasions.

Even though the numbers 9 & 11 do not have any intrinsic meaning in themselves, it is somewhat enigmatic that one is able to find those numbers associated with tragic events since the Author and Founder of the Christian faith at an hour labeled the “ninth hour” made a horrendously painful cry (And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” --Matthew 27:46--). It is also noted that Jesus’ age at the time of His death was about 33 or 3 x 11.

It seems like those numbers 9 & 11 have been followed by a dreadful kind of horror and agony. This strange coincidence was also evident based news reports that James Holmes (with a first and last name adding to 11 letters) just after midnight on Friday July 20-2012 committed the atrocious act of killing 12 and injuring 58 individuals. According to the online edition of the NY Times: “Some survivors thought at first they were witnessing a promotional stunt. It is remarkable that even though he had needed psychiatric care, Mr. Holmes’s only criminal history had been a traffic summons. It has been documented that Mr. Holmes earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in neuroscience in 2010 from the University of California, Riverside and once won a prestigious grant from the National Institutes of Health.

God is the author of life. Our lives depends on physical, biological and moral laws. If someone jumps off the roof of a tenth stories floor the body of that person will be violating physical laws of existence when impacting the pavement and that person has to die. Our heartbeats and our breathing need to go within certain rate in order for us to be alive. If the heart rate or the breathing of any person violates physiologic laws by going too slow or too fast, the biologic laws keeping that person alive will be broken and that person has to die.

Now, the Creator of the human race gave us spiritual and moral laws personally written in stone by Him and then given to Moses. After the human race (through the nation of Israel) proved that we are unable to keep His moral laws, He came to earth to be born as a human and teach us by words and example how to best keep His Ten Commandments. He accepted to die the death of an impostor and blasphemous sinner so through His example and response to an unjust and horrendous death we could learn to be saved from our own sinful tendencies by always looking toward God and trusting Him up to the last moment of our lives.

The problem is that the human race is trying its best to educate people to do the best it could be done to keep the physical, physiologic and biologic laws to keep us alive. However, regarding the spiritual and moral laws making possible functional families and societies have not been accepted by the human race because such acceptance would implicate One that has given Himself credit through the Fourth Commandment regarding what moral authority He has in giving us such spiritual and moral laws to follow.

9 & 11 giving a pattern of being followed by a dreadful kind of horror and agony is a very strong signal that God’s love is putting serious restrictions on the Evil one creating havoc and destruction. It is also a very subtle invitation for us to break that pattern of destruction when we ignore God’s spiritual an moral laws by inviting God the Creator to be part of our lives so we could change things around and that we could create a happier kind of interaction among all members of the human race.

People that don't believe in the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ are the same people who also don't believe in the real existence of Satan and that he is always trying to guide people into a path taking them to self-destruction. Many needless deaths will be generated in societies that provide legal and monetary subsidy to the belief that we are an end product of evolution while also believing that their citizens have a right to bear arms. Those societies will be cursed with many needless deaths because while Jesus teaches love and forgiveness, evolution teaches the survival of those who besides being the fittest also are more than willing to show an unbelievable level of cruelty.

Again the numbers 9 and 11 bring back to our attention the horrendous destruction on 9-11-01 by terrorists who were taught the opposite of Jesus teachings: On a busy Friday morning in Manhattan (August 24, 2012), nine pedestrians suffered bullet or fragment wounds after police unleashed a hail of gunfire at a man wielding a .45 caliber pistol who had just killed a former co-worker. The officers unloaded 16 rounds in the shadow of the Empire State Building at a disgruntled former apparel designer, killing him after he engaged in a gun battle with police, authorities said. Again the "strange coincidence" 9 people were injured by the "coincidental" fragmentation of bullets intended to put out of action a disgruntled killer. Number of dead people: 2 (the person killed by the killer plus the disgruntled killer). Numbers of people injured by accident: 9. 9 + 2 = 11.

Something very remarkable has been taking place in the USA and throughout the world. However, "mainstream" thinking and people in charge of shaping public opinion do not wish even to consider. This is that, since 9-11-2001, we have the ability of seeing a pattern of behavior in natural disasters and in man made disasters. This pattern of behavior could be easily considered "a fingerprint." This kind of "fingerprint" follows either two mathematical numbers or something that --if it were done by a person-- one would be able to understand what kind of agenda is moving such person into action.

If we decided to take into consideration all the "coincidences" of the numbers 9 & 11 of September 11, 2001, we would be able to detect a "numerical finger print" of something bringing to our attention human suffering and death. This is something that becomes really remarkable when we take into consideration the multiple numerical coincidences with the numbers 9 & 11 in very prominent tragic events originated by "nature" and/ or by men of evil. Let us use an illustration: In society, we have people with eyes; however, they are not able to see because either their retina, the lens of their eyes or their optic nerve is not functioning; we also have people with ears but are unable to hear because either they have an obstruction in their external auditory canals, their tympanic membranes are unable to vibrate or because their auditory nerve cells are unable to respond. In order to teach those people to function well in society, we need to use special methods so they could learn. Blind people need some special ways to learn and become able to read. Deaf people need to be taught sign language in order to enable them to do further learning and be able to communicate with other people. The same thing happens in our communication with God.

Now, since the Bible is the oldest book on Earth and since the individuals who wrote it believed that God is able and willing to communicate with us on a daily basis, we need to go to the Bible in order to figure out such kind of fingerprint given by cataclysmic events in nature and by people of evil committing horrendous acts against their fellow citizens. Therefore, when we read Genesis 3:15 (3+1+5=9) in the Bible while trusting God and praying to Him, through such kind of prayerful trust, we will understand that one of key meanings of that verse is that God has put hate between the Devil and the human race in order to prevent an unbreakable alliance between the Devil and humans against God's government in our lives. Through that biblical verse, we will certainly understand that whenever a person or a society tries to tamper with or destroys the jurisdiction that God has in the creation of good human values within the human mind, the Devil finds a great deal of joy and pleasure causing death and destruction among people.

This kind of "numerical finger print" is observed in the number 9 in October 29, 2102 when a hurricane, super storm Sandy, landed on American soil. Moreover, we get the number 11 when we add up 2 + 9. However, something much more eerie is that this "attack of Mother Nature" seems to be an attack against an American political process that really feels motivated to turn upside down biblical values given in God's Ten Commandments regarding the family units making up society. This natural event against the United States mainland was just about one week before the US presidential election in regions of the nation where the popularity of the incumbent president was not negatively affected by his personal opinion of family formation that has nothing to do with the natural biologic proliferation of the human race. In New York City, Nature generated a greater Sandy storm intensity "attacking" those places with more deadly force where there was a higher incidence of humans using their own reproductive organs with other humans of the same gender in a way that has not been designed by Nature. Moreover, there was nothing that the US Department of Homeland Security or that the very mighty US Department of Defense could have done in order to prevent such "attack" by Nature against the American mainland.

When we take into consideration the August 29, 2012 Super storm Sandy, August 27, 2011 hurricane Irene, August 29, 2005 hurricane Katrina, the March 11, 2011 Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, the January 12, 2010 Haiti Earthquake, the December 26, 2004 South Asian tsunami that came as a result of the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake, we are going to see how those natural tragedies have brought a great deal of suffering and death to thousands and thousands of people on Earth. However, the majority of individuals with "mainstream thinking" within the American society have decided that those tragedies are just related to random tragic events within nature without God or the Devil having to do anything with those awful tragedies. Nonetheless, "mainstream thinking" regarding a lack of any useful meaning behind cataclysmic events is not more than a wishful kind of thinking imposed by atheists and people who greatly prefer to avoid believing in the biblical account of the existence of God or the Devil.

The writer of the article above, shows an attitude shared by people believing in a government of a Godless secular ideology by a Godless secular ideology and for a Godless secular ideology. They feel contempt for people who take a spiritual or religious view of any tragedy taking place at any time. They have four problems. First: They don't believe in the account given in the Holy Bible, KJV, about the existence of any spiritual, intelligent living entity giving shape to our beliefs, actions and behavior. Second: They ignore that God and the Devil are two opposite spiritual, intelligent living entities. Fourth: They don't understand that the power God or the Devil have on people depends mostly on what they decide to believe or not to believe. Therefore, if the mother of Adam Lanza did not believe in teaching her son about the power of prayer for protection and for changing things that he disliked, we cannot expect God, who has given us the power and the responsibility to chose between good and evil, to do a last minute change against the fantasies his mind was trained for when he played violent video games, when he watched violent movies or the violent fantasies he had in his mind when he went with his mother to spend time sharpening their skills in target shooting.

Something that is being disregarded by those who are guided by a Godless secular ideology is that the first amendment was proposed in 1785 and enacted in 1791; this means that such proposal of the first amendment was three years after this declaration: “The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools.”- United States Congress 1782. Now, through the New Testament, we are taught to love and pray even for our enemies. Therefore, the general population would be less willing to be belligerent and less willing to use guns against people hated by them even with its freedom to bear and use guns. Therefore, when we do the opposite of what the United States Congress "recommended and approved" in 1782, we cannot expect that people are not going to be ignorant of their duty to love and pray for everyone including their enemies if they don't keep such thinking in their minds. People who are Godless secular ideologues should not be so irresponsible as to believe that people with a lack of knowledge regarding Jesus' teachings are not going to generate a thinking in their minds to use their guns in order to kill those they hate. Such lack of knowledge was imposed by court decisions in the 1960's and later, even though it was fully against a 1782 US Congress recommendation. Atheists just demonstrate to be God haters when they say nothing bad about a society that gives guns to people, take away Jesus' teachings of love, forgiveness and prayer from their schooling years and then accuse God of being monstrous and evil when people act out their evil desire after careful planning without no one in society seeing or hearing anything wrong or suspicious before such horrendous act.

Nonetheless, I fully agree that Mr. Lawrence M. Krauss stated a very good and legitimate question when he wrote: "But why must the nation grieve with God? After Newtown, a memorial service was held in which 10 clergy and Obama offered Hebrew, Christian and Muslim prayers, with the president stating: 'Let the little children come to me,' Jesus said, 'and do not hinder them. For such belongs to the kingdom of Heaven.' God has called them all home. For those of us who remain, let us find the strength to carry on." This question is based on how President Obama interpreted the words that Jesus said. The problem is that since the American Political Establishment has agreed with doing just the opposite of what the United States Congress did in 1782 of recommending and approving the Bible for use in all schools, we cannot expect a busy American head of state to use the Bible and come up with the right meaning of what it says. Of course that God is not going to use a demented individual to riddle the bodies of little innocent children in order "to call them home." When we study the biblical doctrine of the resurrection in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 we are going to understand that everyone who dies goes to the grave to rest until Jesus comes back to call them back to life through the resurrection. The Bible does not teach of children going to spend their childhood in heaven just after they die.

However, in Job chapters 1 & 2 we are able to see a "dynamic" on how God puts limits on the devil. Now, if every one becomes aware of Jesus teachings regarding our duty to love every breathing person (including those who are identified as our enemies) then the Devil would not have any significant foot hold on people's lives and we would have less American citizens killing their fellow American citizens.

However, "miraculously" his AR-15 semiautomatic rifle jammed, although the suspect managed to get the weapon working again before he moved downstairs and shot himself. Something also eerie is that the two victims he killed Steven Mathew Forsyth, 45, of suburban West Linn, a father of two who owned a business in the mall, and Cindy Ann Yuille, 54, of Portland the digits of both ages add to 9: 4+5 & 5+4; moreover, 45 + 54 = 99 or 9 x 11. Regarding the Sandy Hook killing, I also find it eerie that the school shares the same name of hurricane Sandy; Sandy Hook is a 9 letters name. The killer had his brother's identification and was initially identified as his brother Ryan Lanza, age 24; Ryan Lanza's first name and last name is 9 characters; the killer's name was Adam Lanza age 20; the number of letters of his first name and last name also add to 9. Both ages 20 + 24 add to 44 or 4 x 11. Of the six adults killed by Adam, Victoria Soto, age 27 (2 + 7 = 9); Rachel Davino, 29 (2 + 9 = 11); Dawn Hocksprung, 47 (4 + 7 = 11); Mary Sherlach, 56 (5 + 6 = 11); only two victims' ages Anne Marie Murphy, (52) and Lauren Russeau, (30) did not have digit numbers adding to 9 or 11. They just "completed" the number of 26; the killer "would not be allowed" to kill any other person and the killer would "complete the number" of people killed at Sandy Hook (name with 9 letters) to just 27 (2+7 = 9) or 3 x 9 = 27 individuals by killing himself.

We have two kinds of sins: Collective sin, this is when a whole group of people or nation sin against God; we also have individual sin, this is when one person or individual sins against God. Isaiah 45:22 is a statement of God from prophet Isaiah promising that if a group of people, nations (even all ends of the earth), look to God, then they will be saved. John 3:14-15 is an illustration of Jesus being lifted up in the cross in order to facilitate all people to look at Him. However, only those believing in Him will finally enjoy eternal live. Being saved is an experience that could be enjoyed by all group of people, nations including "all ends of the earth." Having eternal life can only be obtained by an individual believing in Jesus, this is by believing in God through the Spirit of Jesus working in his/her mind

Isaiah 45:22 is a blessing that God wishes to give to all nations. John 3:14-16 is a blessing that God wishes to give to every person believing in Jesus. However, when people, nations or individuals follow a suggestion from the Devil of doing the opposite, instead of being blessed with the end results of what God wishes for us, we end up with a curse that is just the opposite of God's blessings in our lives.

September 11, 2001 is just a symbol of how a group of people or nations end up with a curse of destruction when instead of looking to God, they end up in just looking into themselves in order to look for solutions to most of their pressing problems. For instance, when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, this was perceived as an insult to the doctrine of self-determination that nations should have. However, people's freedom to truly believe in God through the teachings of Jesus Christ was disregarded. The United States of America instead of trying to work in order to have all people in Afghanistan to acquire a truthful freedom to believe in God through Jesus' teachings, the USA began giving military help and training to people in Afghanistan to turn against Russian soldiers and kill them while they were invading that nation. The blessing of eternal life that God wishes to give to those believing in Him through Jesus was turned into a curse of killing those who have an opposing view of how a nation should be run. The Russians could not stomach the concept of having their soldiers being killed with no end in sight while being unable to establish their ideal of government in such nation. Therefore, the Russians had to pack and leave Afghanistan.

However, it is impossible to avoid falling in a curse when people or nations wish to disregard God's promise of blessings and freedom from sin and its horrendous consequences in order to favor something that God has never promised us. When the Soviets left Afghanistan, those trained by American soldiers in order to "free" Afghanistan from a foreign presence began to use that same training in order to attack any symbol of American power or presence in the Middle East. They even became an inspiration for many Palestinians to cross Israeli border with a bomb strapped to them in order to detonate this bomb and kill Israeli civilians while also killing themselves. The American news media did not condemn this kind of practice in a sure and unequivocal way. On the contrary, it just spoke of the kind of "desperation" that Israel was driving the Palestinians in order to get suicide bombers to such kind of action. This became a kind of "collective sin" within the American nation that paved the way for suicide bombers to do their horrendous act of destruction on September 11, 2001. After all the facts were put together of how those 19 terrorists from the Middle East were able do the horrendous destruction on American soil, we don't see the American news media explaining away suicide bombings as an act of "desperation."

While God says: "Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other" (Isaiah 45:22 NKJV) (4+5 =9:11x2=11), the Devil has been very successful in having people just to look to each other and to "the best" within them in order to seek peace and prosperity while forgetting about God the creator and sustainer of the universe. The Devil has been very successful by putting in people's mind that there is not such thing as a Creator and that everything became a reality through a self-spontaneous creation. Therefore, in a collective sense, instead of being blessed with the reality of God's blessings in our lives, we are having our head being "banged" by the reality of a curse generated by ourselves, by a collective sin (as a society) of death and violence that is having an ominous and strange numerical repetition.

Let's just examine Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's case. He is a 19 years old born in Chechnya, Russia; he is a Muslim from a region of the world that like Afghanistan one time ago, wishes to be free of Russian domination. It is also a very bizarre twist of reality that when we see this 19 years old Muslim, we can also remember that 19 Muslim terrorists gave us what we today remember as something that took place on September 11, 2001. Moreover, there has been an ominous and strange numerical repetition of the curse that on a collective sense we are putting on ourselves by no looking to God. Instead, we just try to keep looking to "the best" within us. For instance, the Boston marathon bombing occurred on 4-15-13 (15 - 4 = 11). The 19 years old Muslim involved in this (we had 19 Muslim terrorists who gave the USA a "black eye" on September 11, 2001). Something that is really mind boggling 11 years after September 11, 2001, this is September 11, 2012, this person became an American citizen who at the age of 19 (the same number of people giving a "black eye" to American psyche) on 4-15-13 (15 -4 = 11) would be one of two brothers planting a bomb that would kill Krystle Campbell, a 29-year-old (2 + 9 = 11) from Medford, Massachusetts, injure an 11-year-old Aaron Hern from Martinez California and that this 19 years old Muslim (we should not forget the 19 Muslim terrorists of September 11, 2001) would be in a shootout with the police that would critically injure a 33 years old police officer (3 x 11 = 33), Officer Richard Donohue.

Former President Ronald Reagan used to say that "it take two to tango." As people believing in Jesus Christ, we should not be happy with just trying to be free from our individual sins. We should also try to break off the kind of "collective kind of sin" that we and the whole American society is getting involved by disregarding the voice of God through prophet Isaiah when he wrote: "Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other" (Isaiah 45:22 NKJV) (4+5 =9:11x2=11). As believers and followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have nothing to lose and a great deal to gain if we go and with our right hands, in a gentle way, we tap the shoulders of the leaders guiding the destiny of this nation and tell them why we cannot fully agree with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry who praised law enforcement in their hunt for the Boston Marathon attack suspects when he said that: "I think it is fair to say this entire week we have been in pretty direct confrontation with evil... In the past few days, we have seen the best and we have seen the worst of human behavior, and it is the best that all of us really want to focus on." There is a real problem why things are getting much worse with no end in sight. This is because like US Secretary John Kerry, all US public officials being dispatched throughout the world to seek peace are just destroying the prospect of a truthful peace. They do this by trying to just focus "on the best" that is in us instead of trying to get all the ends of the earth looking to God through our Lord Jesus Christ so the business of salvation could be a business of salvation to "all the ends of the earth" as envisioned by prophet Isaiah.

I think he's referring to Hurricane Katrina, which made landfall in Louisiana/Mississippi on August 29, 2005 - and was major player in the 2008 Presidential election.

Regarding hurricanes having "a voice" on the American political process I decided to point out that something "very strange" was going on when were able to witness that "nature" was having some influence by "pushing" a particular individual to become the 44th (4 x 11) US President who was also the 9th US president since John F. Kennedy (35th US president) when Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was fighting for the black civil right movement.

....Considering man made disasters and hurricanes having "a voice" in American politics We need to be reminded that it was during a Republican administration, under the presidency of George W. Bush, during the first year of his administration when men of evil were able to cause death and destruction on American soil on September 11, 2001 during the 1st year of President Bush 1st term in office in 2001. This was followed by a peak of ferocious attacks by Nature against the American mainland also during the 1st year of President Bush 2nd term in office in 2005 when we experienced hurricanes Katrina and Rita attacking the USA in places of high violent crime rates. On September 1, 2008 hurricane Gustav forced the cancelation of the 1st day of the Republican National Convention Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was the first time in living memory that a Republican or Democratic convention was disrupted by a natural disaster. This disruption had a very negative effect, during a politically sensitive time, of projecting why the Republican nominee, Senator McCain would be a better US president than then Senator Barack Obama. Therefore, on September 2008, hurricane Gustav had a negative effect on the ability of the Republican candidate to create a build up of a good political momentum in his race for the presidency. Once again four years later, the first day of the Republican National Convention in Tampa Florida was changed from August 26, 2012 to August 27, 2012. Hurricane Isaac brought up multiple logistical questions on a stage where logistics matter: Conventions for both parties are highly choreographed showcases of the party in which the order of speakers, for example, is assembled carefully to ensure that both party insiders and the viewing public see an appealing image. Hurricane Isaac brought a distraction that could be a threat for the Republican party to project its message in order to capture the White House. However, this time around the Republican party was better prepared and the Republican candidate Mitt Romney was able to build up a good political momentum in spite of hurricane Isaac. However, on October 29 (2+9=11) came the "October surprise," a super storm named hurricane Sandy.

This natural event against the United States mainland was just about one week before the US presidential election in regions of the nation where the popularity of the incumbent president was not negatively affected by his personal opinion of family formation that has nothing to do with the natural biologic proliferation of the human race; on the contrary, in those regions, well organized and financed political interest groups were able to get political and legal support from the state for a "new kind" of "family formation" that is inconsistent with the biologic proliferation of the human race on Earth. This super storm named Hurricane Sandy did "the job" that Hurricane Isaac was unable to. This "job" was to destroy any political momentum the republican candidate Mitt Romney had for winning the White House. This is because President Obama was seen, by the general American public, as a good commander in chief while also showing brotherly love by hugging victims of the hurricane and moving the enormous power of the federal government in order to assist, as soon as possible, those victims of Hurricane Sandy. Now, commentators that feel pleased having President Obama to recapture the White House have used the political outcome of Sandy in order to put in ridicule those who believe in a God and Creator as stated in the Bible. They have asked: How is possible that God is going to punish the Republican Party by preventing their candidate to win the White House by sending hurricanes during a politically sensitive time? They have even asked: If the faith of the Evangelical Republicans is in a God that disapproves homosexuality, how is that God is going to have a president who has a way of thinking highly friendly toward homosexuality be able to recapture the White House by "sending hurricanes" during such politically sensitive time?

We need to first understand that because highly influential Evangelicals are Republicans, this does not make the Republican party the party of God. Also, according to Isaiah 55:8 (5 x 11:8), God has revealed this about Himself: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the Earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

We need to go back to the words of President Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg address in November 19, 1863 when he said that "the government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth." The problem with the Republican party is that many republican legislators are still in love with the Ronald Reagan pledge of making the government smaller because based on President Reagan's way of thinking the government is a big part of the problem and making the government smaller is the solution for putting the nation back on the right track. Republican legislators have taken a similar path shown by President Carter's speech of July 15, 1979 when he said: "But we can succeed only if we tap our greatest resources—America's people, America's values, and America's confidence." President Carter did not give any importance to inviting God to our hearts and minds so He could illuminate our minds and help us do great things through us and for us here on Earth. He just gave importance to: "America's people, America's values and America's confidence." Therefore, his presidency was left to the mercy of what he praised as "America greatest resources." President Carter did not keep in mind that a trust in God who had the power to create the Earth in six literal days of 24 hours and rest on the seventh day --who is more than willing to work within us and through us-- is really America's greatest resource. He is the Only One with the wisdom, the power and the ability to wipe away anything that is not good for us and our trust should primarily rest in Him and in His ability to provide us with a better understanding of how to best work things out.

Since President Carter did not have any inclination to teach that America's greatest resource is God working in us and through us, God had to let history take its course and America had to taste a bitter drink of having American hostages in Iran (who were released 444 days later, 4 x 111), helping radical Muslims that hate Christianity and also hate America to fight against Russian incursion in Afghanistan (those same radical Muslims that recruited those who on 9-11-01, a short time before 9:00 am EST, had Flight 11 of American Airlines --with 92 people including 9 flight attendants and 2 pilots --92 or 9 + 2 = 11-- hitting one of the World Trade Center towers 110 stories high, 11 x 10).

Through their words and actions, republican legislators are repeating President Carter's error. This is the same error of not putting first our trust in God so that we could invite Him to help us deal with our personal and national problems. Like President Carter, republican legislators are putting their trust in fallible, mortals and sinful people like you and I and not in God. They have adopted President Ronald Reagan's perception that America's greatest resource is America's confidence and that big government is the problem. In other words, they have adopted President Reagan's way of thinking: "Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." However, America's biggest problem is not a big taxing and spending government.

America's biggest problem is a lack of its citizens having a personal relationship with God who created this world in six days and rested on the seventh day and who --about for thousand years after our first parents sinned against Him-- sent Jesus Christ to this Earth so we could be taught to love one another as brothers and sisters. Brotherly love, as Jesus taught it, is the best solution against the negative effects of big government on society. Mitt Romney wished to give continuity to a Reagan's way of thinking of not even trying to look for potential tax sources that would not be detrimental to economic growth as a source to lower the federal tax deficit. Regarding FEMA, in a GOP debate in 2011, Mitt Romney promoted the idea of sending emergency management back to the states, or better yet, the private sector. Moreover, in April 24, 2012 he was quoted saying "That kind of campaign may have worked at another place over in a different time. But not here and not now. It’s still about the economy…and we’re not stupid." However, as Martin Luther King, Jr. once stated: "The Arc of the Moral Universe Is Long, but It Bends Toward Justice”. A super storm named hurricane "Sandy" came during a very politically sensitive time and it shook up what Mitt Romney said about FEMA before. Now, instead of sounding like President Ronald Reagan about making the government smaller, he had to go back to President Abraham Lincoln's ideal that the government should be for the people. The government should always be prepared to provide for needed assistance when a real need arises or an emergency occurs. In a way that is consistent with brotherly love, government should also be able to protect the welfare of its citizens; if those citizens have to pay taxes for it, so be it. How we should pay for it? The Lord Jesus already has given us instructions on how to do it: "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked (Luke 12:48). Moreover, God through prophet Isaiah goes even further: “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
