As a matter of fact you believe that to worship as I do is a sin.

I am saddened to hear you say that. For it is clearly FAR from the truth. You are free to worship as you believe. God does not condemn you for doing as you know to do. If HE sees fit to lead you in a different direction than the rest of us. WHO are WE do condemn that?

Brother - welcome to the fellowship of believers.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Which to me screams a whole lot of misogyny

I agree that misogyny is in both the world and in the church.

Ah Woody it is not something I worry about. I don't think its a sin, I am actually very secure in how I worship and whom I worship. I appreciate those that can see it for what it is and still accept me as a "believer" as IMO we are all moving to the same goal. I only bring it up as an example of things considered to be a sin.

Here is what continues to confuse me.

Many Christians believe homosexuality to be a sin. I don't agree at all, but its not my place to tell you what you should and should not believe.

But you all believe a great number of other things are sins. As a matter of fact you believe that to worship as I do is a sin.

Curious, now. How do you worship?

Not in a church, not the same deity as you. Includes a great deal of meditation and thoughtful communication (or prayer)

However in the end I think, as I mentioned before, its all in the goal of a closer walk with the divine, we are just on different roads to get there.

Jesus the Christ doesn't necessarily have to be worshiped in a brick building with rows of benches.

Not the "same diety." Who, or what then?

What or whoom do you think of during your meditation? Who or what do you "pray" to?

Does the "divine" have a name, or title? Who is he, or she?

Thanks for your help, curious.

regards,

g

Possibly in a different thread Olger? So this one does not get taken too far off track, or if you want to pm me I would be happy to explain my beliefs.

Has been that way for a long time!! Don't know about other forums but that is a dominate theme around here...especially when it gets slow.

Moderator Note:

Somewhere back down the track this topic went off the rails. Just add homosexuality to the growing list of topics that people on this forum seem unable to discuss calmly and rationally without turning on each other.

This topic is now locked for a cooling off period and to give some time to consider possible remedies.

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
