Gustave Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I didn't mean it that way Ozarkwoman and I'm sorry for your loss. What I meant was that your other post was saying you didn't think you were going to be a member of the SDA church. I was only assuming that prior to being a member you would "know" & agree with their teachings.... ...Ellen White being the most serious teaching or important teaching that denomination has. Quote

I am not done with the baptismal classes yet. The reason I said I didn't think I was going to be baptized as a SDA is because my pastor said he would not baptize me if I was still smoking. So, far, I am not smoking anymore. Quote

Sounds like He is giving you strength! Remember, you will go through some downs....that nicotine attack will come forcefully....but hang in there....once you get over the hump, once after your body has gone through detox, the craving will slowly but surely begin to decline and become less and less. And I wouldn't worry too much about Ellen White. The most important thing is you understand the basic doctrines. Take out some time to read Steps to Christ and The Desire of Ages--oh, and Thoughts on the Mount of Blessing, and you will be richly blessed. Her writings are profuse with scriptures. Many out there think that when you are reading Ellen White, you're not reading the Bible. But they forget that there are Bible verses and sometimes full passages spread on virtually every page of most of her books. Quote ~Lysimachus (Marcos S.) skyblue888 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 When I read the SoP I am reading the Bible explained by the Spirit of Christ. After all, her writings are called the Testimonies of His Spirit.
