SDAnonymous Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Hello to the people of ClubAdventist.org. Thank you for having us here! We're a relatively new ministry that was launched, consisting of Students and Laypeople of the SDA Church who are passionate about the writings of Ellen White. We came together from a mutual interest in the unpublished writings of the Lord's Messenger, which are now out of copyright. We have been collecting these writings for some time and were recently blessed with help from within the White Estate to complete the collection. When we finished our collection we believed it was our duty to provide these to the world, and so we are releasing the letters and manuscripts, first as searchable ebook volumes (we need to compile them digitally first) and eventually on a searchable CD-Rom which will be compatible with the Complete Published CD-Rom. We are also working on translations into other major languages. We have now released all the letters and manuscripts from the first 20 years after 1844 - right up to the time when the SDA Church became officially organized. We are only interested in covering the costs of web hosting, software and translation, for we believe there is a real need in these last days to know all that the Lord has revealed to His remnant Church. We have released over 800 pages of material at present, over 350 pages of which is published for the first time ever. The period covered by this bundle includes the following critical events in the life of Ellen White and the SDA Church: -The Scattering and Gathering Time -The Sabbath Bible Conferences -The Age-to-Come Error -The Early Apostasies -The Laodicea Message -The introduction of the Investigative Judgement Teaching -The Great Controversy Vision -The Civil War Period -The Organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church -The Health Vision -The Death of Henry White Please check out our website for more information about our ministry and our writings - unpublishedellenwhite.com And if you are interested in supporting our ministry, please check out our bundle of the 4 Volumes we have released so far. Our next 500 supporters will receive all future volumes at only $1.20 each. Here is our supporters pack on our Ministry Store God bless and thanks for having us here! Quote UNPUBLISHEDELLENWHITE.COM
Moderators Gerr Posted April 27, 2012 Moderators Posted April 27, 2012 Are you saying that the most recent CD-ROM in circulation which is supposed to contain the COMPLETE writings of EGW is not in fact complete? Quote
SDAnonymous Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Hi Gerry, Thanks for the question. The CD-Rom you are talking about only has the Complete PUBLISHED Writings. There are many writings that have never been released. Check out our FAQ page on our website where you can find out how much has material this is. We estimate that between 1/3 and 1/2 of what Ellen White wrote is still locked away. God bless Quote UNPUBLISHEDELLENWHITE.COM
Woody Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Personally I wish there was less of EGW published because I fear that much of what is published - was not meant by our prophet - to be published. I do know one thing - much of what is published - is abused far beyond the original intent of the writing. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Light Fox Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Well, that is interesting. I'm unclear on what is being sold on the site - are you offering an ebook file download, a hard copy book, etc? Quote www.Adventistry.to/Answers
Moderators John317 Posted April 27, 2012 Moderators Posted April 27, 2012 ....I fear that much of what is published - was not meant by our prophet - to be published. This is no doubt true. The problem is, though, that some very vocal people in the church have become paranoid and think that the EGW Estate or someone else in leadership is hiding the truth from them by "suppressing" or changing what she wrote. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Moderators John317 Posted April 27, 2012 Moderators Posted April 27, 2012 How did you obtain these unpublished writings and is the EGW Estate helping you collect them? Do they favor what you are doing, and if not, what is the reason they give for their position or attitude? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Woody Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Good Questions John317. Were these materials published with permission or did someone go against the wishes of the church/EGW estate and thus HER wishes? If it is going against HER wishes to have these published - then we are on dangerous ground here. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators John317 Posted April 27, 2012 Moderators Posted April 27, 2012 Are you finding that Ellen White wrote significant things about the Trinity or Godhead which weren't published before? In your work on the Unpublished Writings, what are some examples of how the Unpublished Writings are necessary in order to fully or correctly understand Ellen White's positions or views? Do you expect Unpublished Writings to cause any changes in people's thinking about Ellen White, either theologically or personally? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Moderators Gerr Posted April 28, 2012 Moderators Posted April 28, 2012 Personally I wish there was less of EGW published because I fear that much of what is published - was not meant by our prophet - to be published. I do know one thing - much of what is published - is abused far beyond the original intent of the writing. Now, if she wrote down what God revealed to her, does it make sense not to have that information published? People misuse the Bible all the time, so why should we be surprised that her writings are misused as well? As I see it, the problem with not having everything laid out in the open is that it just engenders suspicions that somehow there are damaging pieces of information that cast doubt to her prophetic ministry. Moderators Kevin H Posted April 28, 2012 Moderators Posted April 28, 2012 There is a lot of personal mail, some she said is advice that could be used for people with similar situations, some she asked the people to burn the letters after they read them (which they obvously did not) and much she wanted private for a long time so not to embarras the family. Also there were a series of letters, she wrote on child guidance that she later wrote to the family telling them not to follow the earlier letters because the ideas don't work. The big thing that I find useful about the unpublished writings being published is a more ballanced view on her writings as she wrote some very sharp letters to some of the heros of the more conservative elements of our church complaining on how they are misusing and not understanding her writings. Yet the views of these people who she wrote those letters to are still very popular in our church among those who are looking for a meaningful relationship with God and think that there is something more than the typical Adventist expirence. The danger I see in this is how more people who do not understand Mrs. White would end up misusing these writings and more people who would deserve letters referred to above. Mrs. White grew as she had more visions. She saw a special frame work that she saw as coming from vision, the rest was filler and other topics that she had to deal with that took her time away from what she felt was important. We have to be careful that we don't miss the forest for the trees and end up focusing on the filler, advice that she gave from the perspective of having had visitons but which may not be the best application, and other things that she had to do as a prophet but which she saw as having a more imediate application and taking away from her work that had a more broader application. Also, it has been pointed out that a number of problems in our church are based more on the older writings of Mrs. White at the expense of later writings. Quote
Gibs Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I personally would like to read the letters she wrote to all the leaders in the denomination after 1844 onward to when she quit. There is a lot of them. Most have been taken off the new discs and the ones left are hard to find unless just the right search words are used. Sometimes too she expressed her true thoughts to ones close to her she wouldn't to the church and I like those too. Those are of course mostly unpublished. The attitude of, we know better what you need than you, they can run down into the swamp with that. I will sort for myself thank you. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ

Gibs Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 SDAnonymous, I for one hope you get it completed in good time that the saints can use it as the time is short. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit in them it is needed for the coming fray I do believe. I pray His Blessings that it be completed shortly. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Moderators John317 Posted April 28, 2012 Moderators Posted April 28, 2012 Who did Ellen White want to be in charge of her writings and in charge of editing and releasing them to the church? Moderators John317 Posted April 28, 2012 Moderators Posted April 28, 2012 We did find an instance where she used the word "trinity", but it doesn't favor any of the positions... it's rather neutral. Could you please give the reference and the quote? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. LLHBeck Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Mrs. White in her will provided for a group of people to take care of her writings and a way to replace the original trustees if they were unable to carry their responsibilities or died. She also made provision for future compilations to be made as need arose. I really do not think she would have thought we would be here this many years latter, still not in the kingdom!! In her desire to protect people’s privacy, she did not want just any one to have access to some sensitive documents, but these people have long since passed off the scene and that is no longer necessary to keep these documents out of the public eye. Happy Sabbath!! Quote

LifeHiscost Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 What they mean by "the Complete Writings" is all the writings that had been released up to the time that the CD-ROM was made. It was never intended to be understood as containing everything she ever wrote or said. If we are to feel it important to search out more of Ellen White's writings up to this time not published, in order to feel more secure in our understanding of God's desire for us, perhaps we ought to spend more time seeking out these writings as well. "Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written." John 21:25 NLT Personally I've found more than enough that has already been revealed in the Word as well as in her writings, to accomplish this below without fear of overlooking something, for anyone who sees the Holy Spirit as their most important guide. "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;" Ephesians 4:11-13 NKJV "..of Whom the whole family in the heavens and on earth is named, that He may give to you, according to the riches of His glory, with might to be strengthened through His Spirit, in regard to the inner man, that the Christ may dwell through the faith in your hearts, in love having been rooted and founded, that ye may be in strength to comprehend, with all the saints, what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, to know also the love of the Christ that is exceeding the knowledge, that ye may be filled -- to all the fulness of God; and to Him who is able above all things to do exceeding abundantly what we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us, to Him [is] the glory in the assembly in Christ Jesus, to all the generations of the age of the ages. Amen." Ephesians 3:15-21 YLT Brackets their's LHC God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
Gibs Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 LifeHiscost, SDA's need some of the writings she sent in letters to the leaders since 1844. Some of those would surprise about all pretty greatly. Those letters used to be accessible on the old original discs but are not on the later ones. There is much contention not known about to day by todays Adventists and to some it would be a great awakining. The same with the manuscripts, only accesible now it you happen to type in the precise right search term. I'm of the opinion they are of value at least to some for edification in the right track. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
