Praise God - we are judged by our heart. God knows us better than anyone. And I find great comfort in that.

Is suicide a sin?

Yes. It is murder-- self-murder. It is definitely a violation of God's law, which defines sin. 1 John 3: 4; James 2:9; Romans 7: 7.

Yes, God takes everything into account when He judges. He also takes into account our knowledge of truth and judges us accordingly. The more we know, the greater are our responsibilities to live up to the knowledge God has given us. If a person is out of his mind with pain and suffering, that is one thing; but if a person kills themselves because of selfishness and lack of faith in God, that's a completely different matter altogether. Christ had far greater pain than we will ever have, yet it didn't occur to him to commit suicide. He's our example. He gives us power to endure all suffering and provides a way to resist and overcome all temptation to do wrong.

Do you mean "had NOT been baptized"? That's the only way I can make sense of your question. If a person totally believes in Jesus and loves Him, Jesus said that he/ she will follow Christ's commandments, including the commands He gave regarding baptism. John 15:10; 1 John 2: 3-6.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

According to the Bible we will be eternally judged by the things we've done regardless of what we think is in our hearts. The deeds of the flesh. For out of the heart the mouth speaketh. "For out of the heart proceeds...murder" Suicide is rarely a self contained act. It almost always has a deep effect on others, usually for the worst. Parents, wives, children, friends,ect...all are left with having to deal with the physical, emotional, and spiritual ramifications.Suicide is often a conscious attempt to inflict pain on society as punishment for perceived wrongs.Suicide is a sin against the One who made us in His image.Apart from some physiological defect that alters the neuro system there is no excuse.

OzarkWoman,

Christians are sinners, too. The difference is that they recognize their need for a Saviour and the blood of Christ cleanses them. You will never find a perfect person to baptize you. There has been only One perfect individual: Jesus and He Himself baptized nobody. Even John the 'Baptizer' sinned. Don't hold others to the same standard you yourself cannot meet.

Yes, we most certainly are sinners but you have no idea of the things that have been done, so you would be better off not trying to diagnose the situation about me because you come off as being holier than thou with that reply of yours.
