bonnie Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I don't know how you reached that conclusion, but then, I don't really care to know. Ah don't despair,we know government control must come for prophecy to play out.Depends on where we are at in this old world's history whether it can be repealed thru getting rid of Obama. We will not lose our freedoms overnight and it will not be by force. The american people will be willing sheep if they here the word "free" enough.Look at what Obama has done with DOMA and this "new immigration". The laws are still there but the monarch has said they do not have to be obeyed. For PO to dare to implement the existing laws our monarch has now set up a hotline to report them,He will take care of it. Keep in mind, more and more "christians" are embracing socialism. The government does not have to use force. Just think if this stands we can have the medical utopia that other countries enjoy We can be like my niece in the UK.Thought there was superior medical care there. She waits until her medical problem becomes incapacitating before she can be treated. I have a couple of online friends in Australia, another wonder of medical utopia. Both needed surgery, weren't in the class that could afford their own insurance. One was put on a four year waiting list. Will give them credit tho,she was moved up by a few months as her condition if left would have resulted in being permanently paralyzed. The other had a 2 year wait for hip replacement. She must not have been as important as those that carried their own insurance.Great bargain, that concept "free" Wonder where family members of mine living in Canada will go now when they are told to wait? We know it is coming but it is quite amazing to see those that will champion this man. Wonder what law he will walk over now in his attrempt to get re-elected. Has to be something as he needs more in the wagon Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman

OzarkWoman Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 No, it is not more alive than it has ever been and it is not ridiculous at all. They have been shredding the Constitution for well over 100 years now. You just can't see it for some reason. I am sorry but I might not know as much about the Bible as many in here but the one thing I do know about is American History and the Constitution since I have a Masters in American History. Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted June 28, 2012 Moderators Posted June 28, 2012 They have been shredding the Constitution for well over 100 years now. On the contrary America has been steadily maturing in the application of the basic provisions of the Constitution. Abolition of slavery !4th Amendment was quite a significant improvement do you think? Voting rights for Woman Voting rights for African Americans. Native American civil rights I think, however, that the Patriot act was definitely a significant reversal. God Bless America! OzarkWoman Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 What you named were all Amendments, which are constitutional. What Obama has done with the healthcare bill is not, along with many other things. Heck, even Social Security is not constitutional. Quote
bonnie Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 It isn't a tax according to the monarch Obama and the SC says a mandate is not acceptable so what is it? By Jacqueline Klingebiel Sep 20, 2009 9:00am Obama: Mandate is Not a Tax Email 326 Smaller Font Text Larger Text | Print ht barack obama george stephanopoulous ll 120628 wblog Obama: Mandate is Not a Tax Pete Souza/Official White House Photo, Sept. 2009 President Obama signaled in our interview that he was prepared to address some of the concerns raised by key Senator Jay Rockefeller, who called the Baucus bill a “big middle class tax increase” this week. That means he’ll support more subsidies for middle class families. But in our most spirited exchange, the President refused to accept the argument that a mandate to buy health insurance is equivalent to a tax. Here it is: STEPHANOPOULOS: You were against the individual mandate… OBAMA: Yes. STEPHANOPOULOS: …during the campaign. Under this mandate, the government is forcing people to spend money, fining you if you don’t. How is that not a tax? OBAMA: Well, hold on a second, George. Here — here’s what’s happening. You and I are both paying $900, on average — our families — in higher premiums because of uncompensated care. Now what I’ve said is that if you can’t afford health insurance, you certainly shouldn’t be punished for that. That’s just piling on. If, on the other hand, we’re giving tax credits, we’ve set up an exchange, you are now part of a big pool, we’ve driven down the costs, we’ve done everything we can and you actually can afford health insurance, but you’ve just decided, you know what, I want to take my chances. And then you get hit by a bus and you and I have to pay for the emergency room care, that’s… STEPHANOPOULOS: That may be, but it’s still a tax increase. OBAMA: No. That’s not true, George. The — for us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it’s saying is, is that we’re not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore than the fact that right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase. People say to themselves, that is a fair way to make sure that if you hit my car, that I’m not covering all the costs. STEPHANOPOULOS: But it may be fair, it may be good public policy… OBAMA: No, but — but, George, you — you can’t just make up that language and decide that that’s called a tax increase. Any… STEPHANOPOULOS: Here’s the… OBAMA: What — what — if I — if I say that right now your premiums are going to be going up by 5 or 8 or 10 percent next year and you say well, that’s not a tax increase; but, on the other hand, if I say that I don’t want to have to pay for you not carrying coverage even after I give you tax credits that make it affordable, then… STEPHANOPOULOS: I — I don’t think I’m making it up. Merriam Webster’s Dictionary: Tax — “a charge, usually of money, imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes.” OBAMA: George, the fact that you looked up Merriam’s Dictionary, the definition of tax increase, indicates to me that you’re stretching a little bit right now. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gone to the dictionary to check on the definition. I mean what… STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, no, but… OBAMA: …what you’re saying is… STEPHANOPOULOS: I wanted to check for myself. But your critics say it is a tax increase. OBAMA: My critics say everything is a tax increase. My critics say that I’m taking over every sector of the economy. You know that. Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we’re going to have an individual mandate or not, but… STEPHANOPOULOS: But you reject that it’s a tax increase? OBAMA: I absolutely reject that notion. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Moderators lazarus Posted June 28, 2012 Moderators Posted June 28, 2012 What you named were all Amendments, which are constitutional. Yes of course. As a result of these amendments things got better for Americans. Quote: What Obama has done with the healthcare bill is not, Yes it is. SCOTUS says it is. You can't decide what is constitutional. That is like the people who believe that the 14th Amendment means that anyone and everyone who is born on our soil is an American citizen. That Amendment was written for and about the children of ex-slaves and not for any Tom, Dick or Harry that decides to illegally step into this country. Quote

OzarkWoman Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 I have always disagreed with FORCED bussing, but most especially because of the way that taxes are collected and used in the St. Louis County districts. BTW, it is not how America works. The majority of the people in this country did not want ObamaCare but Obama and Dems pushed it through no matter what.
