I'm looking for healthful vegetarian dishes that have none of the following ingredients: gluten wheat soy msg walnuts peanuts legumes aged cheeses (parmesean, romano, etc. ) corn sweet potatoes kale cabbage sauerkraut mushrooms almonds pecans tahini sesame seeds spinach poppy seeds turmeric okra cranberries black tea cinnamon amaranth buckwheat potatoes cream of tartar pistachio rice milk-vanilla soy milk strawberries raspberries curry black pepper bananas apples iceberg lettuce romaine lettuce sesame seeds corn syrup cornstarch vinegar carrots I'd have to see it to believe that he is REALLY allergic to all the above. Windsor Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 It angers the vegetarian members that may accidentally eat it and it simply confuses the non members who are surprised to later learn that Adventists have traditionally preached a vegetarian diet. But I would say they are probably more fundamentalist and judgmental than most in the NAD. Kiddingly, I mentioned that it was so well-received because it had been rum-soaked. I was anathema on the spot!--didn't even have time to share that the alcohol had long, long ago evaporated leaving only the goodness of flavored sugars... It was a very co$tly cake, too. I bought a whiskey barrel to use at a planter and left it in my mini-van for a couple of hours. Upon returning my entire van smelled like the inside of a whiskey bottle... and it was Jack Daniels (my drink of choice). Anyways, I take your point and note that: good thing you weren't into Listerine, Binaca, or hair tonic. Had an alchy roomie who'd at times strain hair tonic through bread to drink the come-through. ...my hair tonic, until I opted for the blown, dry look. My mother prayed for me constantly - else, for certain, I'd have ended up straining hair tonic also. Bet she's still praying for me on the other side... Aye, mums, bless thems, ones an' all. Quote
