Nobody really cares about those since he would have scrubbed any financial dealings, investments, dodgy tax deductions, etc. before he started his campaign. And he was supposedly no longer in charge of Bain Capital by then. But he is running on his record as a successful businessman running Bain Capital, someone whose business acumen was good for America and the economy and creating jobs. He claims to have great financial and business experience and expertise. Tax returns tell a lot about that sort of stuff specifically. It is important to see what exactly he accomplished while the head of Bain, other than enriching himself and his investors. Tax returns will show his offshore investments and business interests, assuming he reported them properly. (If not, that is a serious problem for him. They will also confirm his representations about his personal finances. The bottom line is just as George Will suggested. Not releasing them, only suggests he has something serious to hide.
