That's insightful, Daryl. Under the oversight of Raj Attiken, the Ohio Conference has been the petri dish for the Emerging Church virus. And I'm not talking behind his back, these are things I have discussed at length with him. It's not a pretty picture.

Quite right! Reading on we find that the "higher sphere" sought by restless modern Eves pursue are:

(Now of course we can disregard what she defines as reaching for "a higher sphere" and make up our own definition irrelevant to the thought. But I will leave that to others more daring than I.)

I reckon when people fall to 'smear' and other such tactics, we know where their heart really is. I don't care if someone disagrees, that is their right, but to stoop to name calling, innuendo and other such tactics, that speaks volumes about the person making the accusations and nothing about the other person/s spiritual life and leading. That is truly sad and I hope that passerby's don't see this. We are not representing Christ with such talk. Haven't we had enough of this?

We need a moratorium on this whole subject till all has been said and done or else blocked to the general public, because we are a disgrace.

The name-calling and innuendo being posted by some here is the same kind of C-rapp that make people want to blow off this blog. Witchcraft - REALLY?

EGW may not have had ministerial credentials; but (according to SDA culture) she definitely had a anointing! Does someone really need a "credential" from a church to practice Spiritual gifts with which they are anointed by the Spirit of God? If I have a spiritual gift for the prophetic, or for healing, or for evangelism, do I need to seek the permission of a man-made denomination before I practice? I'm a male; so does it make any difference if I'm a female with these gifts? My pastor of the past 6 years is a woman; and she is the most gifted spiritual leader I have ever had the privilege of following. Why is she a pastor? Because there were no men with the stones to take on the job!

In a more general sense (not just this topic), I'm in total agreement with CoAspen that personal insult, innuendo, judgement and condemnation are becoming far to prevalent on CA. Both the cons and the libs (myself included) are guilty of it. It is a terrible witness to all non-SDA's on this blog.

This is one of the few post that I am going to answer and not worry about who I am going to get backlash from ... I have almost stopped and am ready to blow off the entire forum off so it really doesn't matter. JoeMo, I agree with you!

We can agree, disagree, agree to disagree but fighting and insulting each other and being on the attack over God and His word just isn't cool! Moreover, I really don't believe anyone is all liberal or conservative anymore than anyone is all good or bad. But the labels are being used as backhanded insults and that is just wrong. Praising God and attacking and insulting your fellow brothers and sisters just doesn't feel right. And, this is not directed at anyone in particular.

The tone here has become such that I think most who visit are on the defensive; not a good thing.
