Gibs Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Yes I believe He proves us, EGW speaks, "Except a man be born again, he can not see the kingdom of God. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a new heart of flesh, Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, the new man which is created after God in righteousness and true holiness. Thou shalt be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord shall name. The Lord your God proveth you to know whether you love Him with all your heart and with all your soul. He shall sit as a refiner and purifier and silver; and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Every man's work shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is." {SpM 350.4} 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 Love or charity by the KJV it is revealed if we don't have it we are, it tells us, "nothing". 1Co 13:1 ¶ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 1Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 1Co 13:4 ¶ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 1Co 13:8 ¶ Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. Taking note of the verse in blue, rejoicing in truth and not iniquity, truth is opposed to iniquity, the lie! Noticing then the verse in dull red, Charity, Love never fails, cease or vanish but the others mentioned do. Yes dear friends we must Love Him with ALL our hearts and souls above all else at ALL times and we will please Him as His Commandments and His Will are our thing we love to do. Don't you know we do what we love to do, "with love and tranquility in doing it". Let us prove our love! 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Gibs Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 On doing some reading in the SOP I found this and does it ever fit here. "Supreme love for God and unselfish love for one another--this is the best gift that our heavenly Father can bestow. This love is not an impulse, but a divine principle, a permanent power. The unconsecrated heart cannot originate or produce it. Only in the heart where Jesus reigns is it found. "We love Him, because He first loved us." In the heart renewed by divine grace, love is the ruling principle of action. It modifies the character, governs the impulses, controls the passions, and ennobles the affections. This love, cherished in the soul, sweetens the life and sheds a refining influence on all around. {AA 551.2} John strove to lead the believers to understand the exalted privileges that would come to them through the exercise of the spirit of love. This redeeming power, filling the heart, would control every other motive and raise its possessors above the corrupting influences of the world. And as this love was allowed full sway and became the motive power in the life, their trust and confidence in God and His dealing with them would be complete. They could then come to Him in full confidence of faith, knowing that they would receive from Him everything needful for their present and eternal good. "Herein is our love made perfect," he wrote, "that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear." "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: and if we know that He hear us, . . . we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him." {AA 551.3} 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Gibs Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 If we have the love described above we will do all His Will and love what He loves and not break any commandment. Yes we can have it. We must walk continually with this Greatest One we love Supremely, it is our pleasure if we do love Him Supremely. Does Jesus Really Reign in our heart. If so we are obedient, He tells us that. "Supreme love for God and unselfish love for one another--this is the best gift that our heavenly Father can bestow. This love is not an impulse, but a divine principle, a permanent power. The unconsecrated heart cannot originate or produce it. Only in the heart where Jesus reigns is it found. I feel this cannot be Emphasized enough. Can we sin while walking with Him and He is holding our hand? His hand is reaching out for ours always. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Robert Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Then give all your goods (and you do have some) to your neighbors and walk in His shoes of complete and utter self-denial. No excuses! Do it now! Again, "Jesus...thought not, planned not, lived not, for himself." “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.” Those who follow him must share his poverty. “If any man will come after me,” he declares, “let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” “So shall ye be my disciples.” [RH 7-4-1912] Quote
Gibs Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Yes, those with His Love will be homeless before too long, we can know that. Our means will be completely used as He will guide by His Spirit before any means would not do any good. Soon houses and land etc. will be of no value anyway. All need to have His guidance as to when to dispose of all worldly possesions. Many greedy men are hording the worlds wealth and it will not save their souls. We must turn over our heart and soul to let Jesus reign in us completely. He restores us into a new creature in Him. Ps 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Yes, those with His Love will be homeless before too long, Quote
Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 1 Cor 13:4 "Love (agape) ....5 is not self-seeking." "You will have that love which seeks not her own, but another's wealth." [DA 439] Please note you will not seek your own wealth (which is iniquity), but another's wealth. That's loving your neighbor as you naturally love yourself. In other words take that love of self, bend it out from yourself, and instead project that love to your neighbor. Your ambition in life, then, should be your neighbors' welfare & wealth. That's how it will be in heaven. Keep in mind no iniquity will be there. You'll be perfect. Since you claim we must be perfect now (overcome the flesh), then I suggest you stop thinking of yourself and sell what little you have and give it to the poor. Don't think about yourself, think about others. That's agape and agape is the fulfillment of the law. Quote
Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 That's how it will be in heaven (i.e., no thoughts of yourself) "In heaven none will think of self, nor seek their own pleasure; but all, from pure, genuine love [agape], will seek the happiness of the heavenly beings around them." [2T 132] Quote
Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 And, BTW, if you do decide to take the highroad and deny yourself by selling all your possessions, let me point out something first: Go to 1 Cor 13:3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor,.... Let's stop here. Is giving ALL your possessions away so that the poor might eat a good thing or bad? Good! Ah, but the law looks at your motive. So if you decide to stop living for yourself your motive must be perfect. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor...but do not have [agape], it (the act) is meaningless. So if you decide to give all your possessions away don't tell anyone! Be completely anonymous. Don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing. In this way nothing will return to you...no credit...no "you are a righteous man"...no praise from others. In other words do it with no thought of yourself at all. That's denying yourself. That's agape. Quote
Gibs Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 He will be our guide on that there is no doubt as His faithful ones are very precious to Him and His Spirit talks to them. These all have His Love and do His Will and care to do nothing else. This the proof that they have that great love. To give away your last morsel to another when hungry to another who is hungry is that kind of love. It will be the few as Jesus has told us. This will not be the pseudo followers but those who have His True Love. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Gibs...do it now. Stop sinning now, be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect. Don't condone sin.... Quote
Gibs Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Sing in our hearts, I love God, I hate sin, I love God, I hate sin and keep singing it. You know if we really do love Him more than sin we do hate sin and you will cease from it! Sure thing if you believe you can't you sure can not. Gather up the faith, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Remembering, Jesus says you can and Satan says you can't, who will you prove is right? Christ in you is our hope of Glory. Mt 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. I know I can, and all can, it's the mind and heartset. We must love Him above all, with ALL THE HEART AND SOUL. IF is a big word, Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Mt 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Then sell all you have and give all your profit to the poor and go and walk as Christ did..... Quote
Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Mt 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. I'm glad you quoted the above. Let's expand it within the context: "25....Who then can be saved?" 26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." 27 Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?" What prompted Peter to ask the question - "Who then can be saved?" Can you tell me, Gibs, within the immediate context? Quote
Gibs Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 I am a very poor man and all I have left is not much, thieves don't even want it. My means for survival is not for long. I'm being blessed to stay on the internet to converse here and some other places, may not be much longer. They finally got the lines fixed and now finally about the time I'm about to submit a post it don't drop out on me and then have to do it all over again. It is not galling at all to walk as Christ walked, it is our priviledge and honor to please because we love Him with ALL that is in us. Pleasing Satan is a no, no don't do. He is our enemy to destroy our souls in the hell fire. There is no doubt, yes we are all sinners but He pulls us up out of the stinking wallow and will come and dwell within all who will come and be broken then you are strenthened to not fall back into it. Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, Jude 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I am a very poor man and all I have left is not much, thieves don't even want it. Gibs...that's poor mouthing. You have much compared to Christ. He never had any self-interests in His life; therefore He received nothing in this world. Face it - there's still iniquity in your life. You aren't living Christ's life, which answered all the law. Therefore you have no right to demand of us that which you don't do yourself - i.e., be perfect. Quote
Robert Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 "25....Who then can be saved?" 26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." 27 Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! Gibs Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 Robert, I don't demand anything of you, not one thing. As to your question, the answer is the same for us today as to them. Lu 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Lu 18:26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? Lu 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. He had just told them it be harder for a rich man to get through the eye of a needle than to enter into the Kingdom of God, then they say, "who then can be saved?" He tells them, things that are impossible with men are possible with God. So God will be in any who will fall on Him and be broken, so ALL can be saved but will not! Christ, God in you and yes it is now possible. Him in you and His Power is yours and besides Satan sees Him in and now he knows he is defeated. Just don't let loose of Jesus's hand. Who can't walk with their very best friend and enjoy the walk continually?. It just requires the old man be dead and not ever resurrected again. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Robert Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 He had just told them it be harder for a rich man to get through the eye of a needle than to enter into the Kingdom of God, then they say, "who then can be saved?" Okay, well, King David was wealthy. Abraham was rich also. Job, etc. All these guys can forget heaven, huh? Quote
Gibs Posted September 12, 2012 Author Posted September 12, 2012 That is God's decision and you remember Job was restored too and counted righteous. Well when a man becomes righteous it looks as though God will allow him to be rich and be a benefit to those around him and under him. Not so with the great majority. According to these verse it is possible. Lu 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Lu 18:26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? Lu 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Are they rich for self or rich to be right for his fellow man and help him and provide for him if necessary. God is rich too we know, but He is not a tyrant. Most rich become tyrants and crookeder all the time. With a Godly rich man whom He dwells in it looks possible. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. LifeHiscost Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Quote: He received nothing in this world What about the seamless robe He wore. "When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom." John 19:23 NLT According to the theology presented that would make Jesus tainted with just a small amount of selfishness, which is contrary to the Word. "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin."Hebrews 4:15 NKJV God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
