...He will recycle the elements of the earth....

Pure, unadulterated speculation! ROFL

Noting the verses of 2 Peter 3:10-12 more closely it is apparant it looks like this is when He comes again and not a 1,000 yrs. later. So the language used is not as it appears. Note "the day of the LORD" in verse 10 and "the coming day of God in verse 12. Then notice the admonition in verse 11. "what manner of persons ought ye to be".

That wouldn't be a statement for the ones in the Holy City who been with God a 1,000 yrs. First verse, it "will come as a thief in the night" and at the second ressurection the burning does not. They know it is coming dreadfully quick!

2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2Pe 3:11 ¶ Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

This is a prophetic description of when Christ comes again for His own.

Now Jeremy gives us a description of earth after this event,

apparant

Jer 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

Jer 4:24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

Jer 4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

Jer 4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

Jer 4:27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

Jer 4:28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.

Verse 28 above, "yet will I not make a full end". It rests a 1,000 awaiting His recycling of all it's elements to a more glorious place than it was now 7,000 yrs ago.

That is what I see and I am not any prophet but just a man with a man's reasonings. Could I be wrong? Yes of course. The issue of salvation is the one there is so much on it that we have no excuse to not see it.

I concede it will be new one way or the other. We also will be new creatures but still knowing each other from this life.

Robert, but what is Jeremy seeing, the text of 2 Peter 3:10-12 says burnt up but it is the language of what the prophet saw, What did Jeremy see? I find he saw what will be seen when the 1,000 yrs are ended and while it rested.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Peter saw what will happen after the wicked die the 2nd death. All things are burnt up....End of story.

Then God creates a new earth and a new heaven (solar system?)

Robert, Peter is describing the first coming and not the second death time, that would be 1,000 yrs down the road.

Quote:

We won't even be human as we know it.

"Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”

So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”John 20:24-28 NKJV

"And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends."Zech 13:6 KJV

"Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high..."Hebrews 1:3 KJV

God blesses! peace

Jesus could walk through doors.....His humanity was different. As I said, we will be as the angels.

1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1Jo 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1Jo 3:4 ¶ Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1Jo 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

God is not restricted to time. If it were not for time we could pass through walls as well. Right now we could stand in front of a wall until the passage of time caused the wall to fall down...then we could pass through. God is not restricted to time so could do so immediately Nuff Sed
