I guess we will have to continue to disagree. I don't believe Jesus loves those that reject him any less than he does those that accept him.

In the now I agree with you. However I and many others plan on spending uncounted milennium in His embrace. Will Jesus continue to love those who don't make it? If one doesn't believe in death, just a continuing life in another place some call hell, I would suggest you would be correct. It's biblical that when one dies the second death there is no more life in any form for them and the love those individuals once had from Jesus, ends.

Of course.I wasn't aware we were talking of eternity. We are not there yet regardless of the plans any of us have.

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

I would suggest that eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus.

"“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."John 5:24 NKJV

"And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life." 1 John 5:20 NLT

Any opinion on the news article that some one found a piece of tablet which inscribed that Jesus said "my wife" speculating that Jesus had a wife?

Won

NPR interviewed a scholar from Princeton that put it into perspective.

The fragment that is causing all the stir was a fragment. There was not enough of the text to get the context. And remember that Jesus is the Bridegroom and the church is the bride, His wife if this was actually a metamorphic expression.

Thus in the text in question, Jesus could actually be speaking about His Church rather than a woman.

2Thess 2:1-2 Paul urges the Church to be "very careful" about being snookered by a letter - faked - forged as if it had come from Paul - claiming that the 2nd coming had already happened.

Hmm wonder why Paul thought that fakes and forgeries were possible in his life time - making claims TO people in the first century ABOUT things said in the first century! False statements about what someone did or did not say in the first century - floating around while the Apostles were still living - in an effort to snooker the people who were living IN the first century!

How much more so - 2000 years later to try and snooker us about what was or was not said 2000 years ago.

If a scholar from Princeton interviewed by NPR said it, I believe it, and that settles it.

Very few scholars believe it's genuine. I read an article a few days ago which quoted one expert as saying it gives a lot of evidence of being a bad imitation of an ancient text, not the real thing.

But I wouldn't care if it was a genuine ancient text or not.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
