Stan Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 There are subjects that are toxic to many that people like to discuss, they will be put into another town hall, that will be index by google, but not shown in the active topics.. Similar to US Politics, people can subscribe to that particular forum and get notified of all new posts. Most of these are topics that are not as clearly laid out as many think they are, on either side. Looking for similar - - Trinity - - Nature of Christ - - What day was Christ Crucified? - - Issues, Complaints, against the SDA's leaders, 28 Fundamental, Doctrine: especially attacks on the denomination Looking for others that reflect this graphic.. Woody Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 The topic of 'apologies' might fit the bill also. May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Gustave Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Does the SDA Church not have a formal statement on the Trinity that individual SDA's must believe to consider themselves SDA? ...I've seen multiple SDA's categorically reject as heretical even what I've read the SDA Church says the Trinity is.
Gibs Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 The one of these only that I see is toxic is the third one listed, - - Trinity - - Nature of Christ - - What day was Christ Crucified? "What day was Christ Crucified" Well there will always be about as many opinions on that as the number of people who study it. The other two are not so difficult to come to a see of as it in in the Word and can be shown what the answer is. The Word only gives a very few clues on that 3'rd one, it don't lay down the yr, the month and days and the two passovers observed and this makes for a more complex unraveling than but few are adepted to do. Yes to read each and all opinions is taxing to say the least. Do that with that one Stan, the other two I don't mind. A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Administrators Naomi Posted November 4, 2012 Administrators Posted November 4, 2012 Great idea!!! I don't know how to word it, but something along the lines of Issues, Complaints, against the SDA's leaders, 28 Fundamental, Doctrine: especially attacks on the denomination Or, maybe it is just me that this bothers, I realize that I am over protective of my God, church family, friends If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God

Woody Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 All of those doctrines which go against my interpretations of scripture should be banned. Or at least hidden from sight. May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

BobRyan Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 If the fundamental Doctrines were worded so cryptically that scores of Individuals within SDAism.... ...Are free to repudiate the historic Trinity. ...How can you say that those individuals have an issue or complaint about fundamental doctrines of SDA? ...When no one can say for certain just what the doctrine really is? Good question. However when we read those debates - is the issue that the denomination does not know what it believes and so is stating/wording it's beliefs in such vague terms that nobody knows what it is saying? I don't find that to be the case in most of these examples. In most of them - even the dissenter's admit to what the denomination's position is - they may object to it or claim it not "historic" - but they know what the current statement says. in Christ, Bob John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." BobRyan Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Do we have any examples of someone pointing to the same 28 FB that we have now and saying "see - the SDA denomination today claims there is no Trinity" or "Claims Christ is not God the Son" or "Claims that the Holy Spirit is not the Third Person of the Godhead"? If someone has made that argument --- I missed it. I believe there are people who take that position themselves - but I don't know anyone who claims the entire denomination today is against the Trinity or that a non-Trinitarian POV is the current thinking in the denomination or that is was the intent of the framers of the 28 Fundamental Beliefs (Given that those guys are still around for the most part). Rather I think those anti-Trinity guys are lamenting loudly the current stated beliefs of the denomination in that regard and they think that the current beliefs have deviated from the intent of leaders in the 1800's. in Christ, Bob John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." Gibs Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 The Trinity doctrine isn't "toxic" to me but I do care to teach is isn't Biblical. I would say most of you have caught that by now. Don't we have "fun", well not really but that is what makes a forum work, differing opinions! Blessings to all who truly love and study His Word. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. BobRyan Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 There are a number of topics on this board where I do not post - nor does it bother me that others are happy to post on them all day long. So I guess I am missing the point of the current direction of this hread. in Christ, Bob John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." Gustave Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Example: 4. Son: God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. (John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.) How long has that statement on the Son been worded exactly like the above?
