There are subjects that are toxic to many that people like to discuss

I am God's dog; I live on the crumbs that fall off his table loaded with the Bread of Life!

Man, and am I having a feast! The guests at table wipe so much Bread off the table they scarcely taste a crumb themselves!

It's fine with me to go sniff for God's Word on the threads’ trash heap ... just fine, thanks!

Ja, I must scavenge among a lot of real toxic stuff from the regulars' smartly decorated tables; and sometimes even dig the Word out from under their vomit over me.

The Word's crumbs though have marvelous healing properties and never get bad or taste bad.

I'm a dog in my seventh heaven ... won't swop for any other place on earth!

???

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

There are a number of topics on this board where I do not post - nor does it bother me that others are happy to post on them all day long.

So I guess I am missing the point of the current direction of this hread.

thumbsup It's called intolerance of anything outside of our own pet beliefs.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Actually, I think you are missing the point. What is the point you say, well....stop and think about it. Stan is mjust seeking to put certain topic into their own forum so that the general public or browsers can ignore or not even see them. A lot of the discussions are not very Christ like regardless of the protests. Civility is lacking and the Mods are trying and doing their best to keep it under control. Citing 'intolerance' is a R-herring. Stan and the mods are very tolerant and need to draw a line at times. Suggesting this is all about intolerance seems to me a way of inciting more.........well, you fill in the blanks!!!

Not all disagreements are toxic. The ones I find toxic are the endless ones about the same old subjects, ones that can not be quote as "and in John 43:95 it says jesus was crucified on Tuesday"

The are good to be discussed by those trying to make it clear in their own mind. AND they were interesting the first few times..

I know others want to have any challenge blocked and banned..

Example:

4. Son:

God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. (John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.)

How long has that statement on the Son been worded exactly like the above?

But you have to admit - no ambiguity.

It's cognitive dissonance, and blatant at that.

A)

He lived and experienced temptation AS a human being

B)

and was attested as God's PROMISED Messiah

It would have flown right by me had I not known about Ellen's "He could have sinned and Lost His own Salvation" teaching...

...Do you see it?

Titus 1,2

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began

Check the Strong's Greek meaning of that...

...It means the promise was TRUTH eternally.

...That = zero possibility for God's promise to be broken.

...Which IT WOULD HAVE BEEN if Christ potatoe'D Salvation

Can't say that I have recognized that characteristic about you, Naomi. But that could be as a result of agreeing with you on most points you make. Not to mention a fulfillment in your life of this principle:

All of those doctrines which go against my interpretations of scripture should be banned.

Surely you jest. Would you see a similarity to a particularly genocidal organization of the past that is experiencing a resurgence of recent? Or am I just missing some jocularity with tongue in cheek?

Gustave, you quoted EG as saying Jesus could have lost his own salvation. I am not challenging this, I'm truly interested. Is the biblical evidence of this thought? Once again, I'm not challenging this view, just wanting to know where this comes from.

Thank you

Satan in heaven had hated Christ for His position in the courts of God. He hated Him the more when he himself was dethroned. He hated Him who pledged Himself to redeem a race of sinners. Yet into the world where Satan claimed dominion God permitted His Son to come, a helpless babe, subject to the weakness of humanity. He permitted Him to meet life's peril in common with every human soul, to fight the battle as every child of humanity must fight it, at the risk of failure and eternal loss (DA 49).

Thank you Olger. My next question would be ,how was a baby Jesus different from me, or what advantages if any did He have to help him from sinning?

I'm guessing that this is off topic from this thread. I have been thinking of the Trinity and the nature of Jesus, so when dreading that the Trinity was a toxic subject I had some questions.:)

Adventist home chapter 77

In His wisdom the Lord concealed the place where He buried Moses. God buried him, and God resurrected him and took him to heaven. This secrecy was to prevent idolatry. He against whom they rebelled while he was in active service, whom they provoked almost beyond human endurance, was almost worshiped as God after his separation from them by death. For the very same purpose He has concealed the precise day of Christ’s birth, that the day should not receive the honor that should be given to Christ as the Redeemer of the world—one to be received, to be trusted, to be relied on as He who could save to the uttermost all who come unto Him. The soul’s adoration should be given to Jesus as the Son of the infinite God.1The Review and Herald, December 9, 1884. EGW

Agreed. ..... I knew a couple who came close to divorce over this serious issue.
