Gibs, I have shown proof clearly proving the error of your position. You know you can't refute any of those Biblical proofs I presented. But you could just keep your eyes closed to truth that unfolds and don't heed the words of Sister White herself:

1. According to Sister White, is it right to assume that all our doctrines are without error?

Quote:
“There is no excuse for any one in taking the position that there is no more truth to be revealed, and that all our expositions of Scripture are without an error. The fact that certain doctrines have been held as truth for many years by our people, is not a proof that our ideas are infallible. Age will not make error into truth, and truth can afford to be fair. No true doctrine will lose anything by close investigation.” {RH December 20, 1892, par. 1} CW 35.2 (Counsels to Writers and Editors)

2. What is our duty when newly-found truths are revealed to us as we humbly study God’s Word?

Quote:
“The prophet of God declares that in the last days knowledge shall be increased. There are new truths to be revealed to the humble seeker. The teachings of God’s word are to be freed from the errors and superstition with which they have been encumbered. Doctrines that are not sanctioned by the Scriptures have been widely taught, and many have honestly accepted them; but when the truth is revealed, it becomes the duty of every one to accept it.” 4SP 186.3 (The Spirit of Prophecy Volume 4)

3. Can we expect harmony among God’s people when new truths based on the Bible and the Bible alone are received?

Quote:
“When God’s word is studied, comprehended, and obeyed, a bright light will be reflected to the world; new truths, received and acted upon, will bind us in strong bonds to Jesus. The Bible, and the Bible alone, is to be our creed, the sole bond of union; all who bow to this holy word will be in harmony. Our own views and ideas must not control our efforts. Man is fallible, but God’s word is infallible. Instead of wrangling with one another, let men exalt the Lord. Let us meet all opposition as did our Master, saying, “It is written.” Let us lift up the banner on which is inscribed, The Bible our rule of faith and discipline.” {RH December 15, 1885, Art. A, par. 16} 1SM 416.2 (Selected Messages Book 1)

4. What group of people did Sister White say God will have upon the earth?

Quote:
“But God will have a people upon the earth to maintain the Bible, and the Bible only, as the standard of all doctrines, and the basis of all reforms. The opinions of learned men, the deductions of science, the creeds or decisions of ecclesiastical councils, as numerous and discordant as are the churches which they represent, the voice of the majority,—not one or all of these should be regarded as evidence for or against any point of religious faith. Before accepting any doctrine or precept, we should demand a plain “Thus saith the Lord” in its support.” {RH June 7, 1906, par. 5} (GC 595.1)

5. There are people whose profession it is to study Scriptures, who understand what the Bible says in its original tongue, why don’t we just let them do the studying and tell us what to believe?

Quote:
"Satan is constantly endeavoring to attract attention to man in the place of God. He leads the people to look to bishops, to pastors, to professors of theology, as their guides, instead of searching the Scriptures to learn their duty for themselves. Then, by controlling the minds of these leaders, he can influence the multitudes according to his will." {RH June 7, 1906, par. 6} (GC88 595.2)

Samie, you may as well hang it up as what you are seeing has no grounds, only to you.

Any SDA I know understands this well, it is one very solid pillar of Adventism.

Some Adventists don't know and understand the Jubilee Calendar which the prophecy is on and make 457 BC through 1 BC only 456 yrs instead of 457, some I have gotten to see it and others just will not. But at least this is not a salvation issue.

457 BC being yr 1 and the 50'th year for the Jubilee has to have 457 BC counted 1 as it is the # 1 yr of the next cycle of sevens. It is 7x7 recurring for all eternity

You may as well push off aomewhere else.

It is the lie that must stop, Gibs, not the truth.

Samie, do the math right and then you could agree with me.

457 BC is your #1 year, so 457 through 1 BC is the 457'th yr. We now need to go 33 more yrs. Starting 1 AD through 33 AD and that is the end of the 70'th week allotted to the Jews. Now that last week was the yrs, 27,28,29 - -30, -- 31, 32, 33 AD.

You would have to change the starting date to 458 BC to come out to make 31 AD the middle of the 70'th week!

Who is spreading the lie as the math is so simple a 5'th grader could get it right!

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Nothing in your math applies to prophecy in Daniel, Gibs.

457 BC is NEVER year #1 of the 70-week-prophecy which will still find fulfillment shortly before the 2nd Coming of Christ. And 70 weeks = 490 days, NOT years. What happened with your math, Gibs? The start of the 70 weeks will be marked by the issuance of a decree for building and restoration of Jerusalem; the decree of Longimanus was for beautification of the temple.

The 70 weeks is related to the taking away of the daily which is precursory to the setting up of the abomination of desolation. Christ Himself told His disciples the setting up of the abomination of desolation ushers in the great tribulation at which end celestial phenomena occurs and capped by the 2nd Coming (Matt 24:15-31).

Believe in the Savior's words, Gibs, not in your math.

Posted

Samie and I suppose you take the 70'th wk and attempt to move it down here at the end. No my friend it is a yr for a day prophecy. Daniel was move greatly because of the length of time it was to be.

Nope! My math is correct!

This the scripture that sets it solid that Jesus died before sundown on our day called Friday,

Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

The breaking of the legs was done to those who had not died to speed the death befor Sabbath.

They found Jesus already dead and his legs were not broken.

Now that coming Sabbath was "an high" day because the Babylonion Jews kept the Pass over two days late and to them it was "an high" day.

They did not see the first sliver of the new moon for two days as sometimes it cannot be seen. But the ones of Jesus and the Disciples did it by accurate calculation and did it the right Day for it.

Again, very simple math!

Gerhard, I see you don't get it and I know if I wrote more you still would not.

Yes the scripture is plain but too many pull something else from it and reject that Christ died before sundown on what we would call Friday.

I've presented the truth of this matter to all who will look at it the way and time it happened.

They also did "inclusive" reckoning in those days and most don't understand that so you are left in the dark. Friday then was reckoned as a full day.

With them at that time the "moonth", a moon month is what they used not our calendar.

Gerhard, You would get so much better of understanding if you didn't use all the terms you do that people would have to spend a lot of time checking out.

Now as I've stated before it is so simple a 5'th grader can get it with just a simple verse or two and doing the math right and coming to the precise yr of His crucifiction. It is absolutely simple math, learning how the Jubilee calendar is is all that is needed and no big words or Greek words are at all needed.

Jesus died before sundown Friday, a new day begins at sundown and He was taken from the cross before Sabbath began.

Preparation day is the day before Sabbath,

Joh 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Jesus legs were not broken because He was already dead and as prophecy had stated, not a bone of Him was to be broken.

That is the plain and simple easy to understand truth of the matter!

No great intellectual stuff is needed!

Gerhard, Idon't understand your posts on the subject, you use words not in my vocabulary. You try to make yourself out a great scholar using wording not needed for a clear explanation.

As far as I can see you realize Jesus was crucified on our Friday before sunset and taken down from it before ist set. Where is your argument? The scripture makes it absolutely clear that is the case.

What day before sunset do you think it was if not our Friday.

I am tired of this go around with you to be truthful. What I posted is the truth of the matter, if you don't think so make your own thread and see who can agree with you. Use a different title though than mine.

You are progably a young man compared to me, I may be the oldest one on this forum, I am 81+ and so I wasn't born yesterday, thanks.

LifeHiscost,

LOL, Sometimes I think they, but not all of them think we should still be taking care of them and we are never to need any help. My wife is an invalid and I am especially thankful for her youngest sister that helps a great lot in taking care of her and then the one daughter about a 100 miles away is some help also.

I am blessed and no complaints. Thanks Bro. LHC.

Nope!, when evening is past, a new day starts, evening is a small amount of time before the sun sets, soon as sun has set it is night, a new day has begun. Jesus was taken down off the cross before the sun set, before the Sabbath began whether you like it or not.

Joh 19:31 ¶ The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Preparation day is the day before Sabbath that food and all is prepared that work is not done in the Sabbath. They needed to get the work done of takeing Him off the cross before Sabbath, which would begin at sundown. A simple solid see and the ones who want to make it something else can't see and never will!

Sell your idea somewhere else, it isn't bought here Gerhard.

Quote:
I thought you are a Seventh-day Adventist, and SDAs believe days end and begin sunset before evening and evening after sunset

"God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day." Genesis 1:5 NKJV

Seems pretty clear to me. Then again;

"Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day."Gen 1:31 NKJV

As soon as one can come up with that which indicates something different from the Word, I'll maintain the succession of the days as such without putting a great deal of trust in the phrase, "This is what that means". Besides that makes it easy to allow the Seventh Day to maintain its' integrity, the only 24 hour day of which Jesus claimed He is Lord.

At sunset a new day begins whether you see that evening continues after that don't matter. After sunset then is considered the dark part and then we have the light part ending then at sunset. See it as you will it don't matter, but sunset ends and starts a new day.

Christ died and was taken down off the cross before suset preparation day is what matters in this discussion.
