Moderators Bravus Posted June 6, 2005 Moderators Posted June 6, 2005 The new Photopost site (http://www.clubadventist.com/photopost/index.php) is very cool indeed. In just the couple of days it's been up I feel I know so many of you so much better. But at the moment it feels a little disconnected from this main CA site (Stan is working on that). So I thought I'd start a thread in which we could pass (complimentary only, please!) comments on some of the posted photos, and perhaps ask clarification questions or whatever. Let me start: Richard (cardw) - it looks like you guys must have a blast in EnRoute: making music and laughing! Dennis (wicklunds) - wow, what a cute little guy! (and the baby's not bad either - hehe, just kidding) You and your wife are very blessed, and must be very proud (in a good way). As you can see by the photos, we're 10 or 12 years further down that road (and others are much further than us) and what a fun road it is! Quote Truth is important
wicklunds Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Thank you kindly Mr. Bravus. I appreciate you and praise God for your photos also. Thank you for sharing them. You also are blessed with life's most virtuous and special blessings. Dennis Quote It is a backsliding church that lessens the distance between itself and the Papacy. {ST, February 19, 1894 par. 4}
K Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 I am enjoying the photos a lot. It puts faces to the thoughts expressed. The scenic pictures show people's hearts. What a great idea this was Stan. I was wondering if there is an easy way to get back to CA???I haven't been able how to navigate back. Am I missing a link?? K Quote Proverbs 15:15 He that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
Stan Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 getting back to CA in both the Chat and the photos is a problem, it appears as if we are not the only site having that problem, I do not know why it should be so complex.. aka Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Stan, Good to know you know that we all know it is impossible to know how to find the way of escape from Chat to MainIndex of CA as well as from PhotoGallery back to MainIndex of ClubA Quote
aka Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Entering my password I am sent to the MainIndex. My habit is deeply ingrained to first click on "Who's Online. Then after wondering who the 50 and more Anonymous could be who are lurking as recorded under the visible logged in member names (minus the invisible ones), I click on "My Home" from that page up above to answer the PM's to calm down the flashing envelope icon. I have no problem being moved to "Active Topics" on which I next click from my homebase page. Now if all the links work in this group that you have upper right on pages : Entrance · My Home · Main Index · Search · Active Topics .Who's Online · FAQ · Calendar· Adventist WebDate · Chat Room· NEW!!!PHOTO GALLERY · .... except for the last two items, then those two items should also have the possibility of intregating the same techniques of process as the other links, into them. I hope you will get that flash of genius to solve the problem, brother... Here's praying for you... The Turmeric ..................................................... Quote
aka Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 It is possible to look, read, see the words and not comprehend what is going on behind them. Today the penny fell in the slot just right and I got an anwser to how I can make albums on the Photo Gallery. I click on Photo Gallery, then click on Members Gallery. There is a task menu line just above the list of members and their photos : My Photos · My Albums · My Favorites- I click on MyAlbums. Then fill in the form. What I like is the option to let my album be for full public viewing or to keep it as _view by invite only_. Could someone tell me how to utilize MyFavorites, please? Turmeric Quote
Stan Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I do have three links in there now, including a link back, but, they are hard to read... some things are not as simple as they first appear. aka Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Whaytago, StanJensen!! I am so impressed with your stick-to-ativeness. The link back to the Main Forum is up and working. Also the new possibility of seeing home video clips from the others is up and functioning. I think all this technique is sooooo neat. I really like it and especially am glad seeing great features actually working. Nice... Quote

Amelia Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Boss, is there any way of having the program list the newest photos for the day? aka Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Amelia, I see he got that fixed and we can view right off the group of most recent uploaded photos when we open the home page of Photo sector. Quote
aka Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 The photo album I just uploaded of General Conference in Toronto 2000 pictures needs an explanation or two. Sadly to say, I did not visit the GC in Toronto. I experienced it only via online at the GC website as they put out bulletins. Or from the reports by Adventist Review online who covered it daily, and likewise ANN. I, along with hundreds of you, moved over to the four newly opened SDA Forums in spring 2000 which were offered after SDA Compuserve and Adventist Online closed down. The sea-time forum I was using then as the GC 2000 was in progress, was my first wobbly attempts at doing online reporting of events while at the same time starting out on developing writers skills. It took me daily upwards to eight hours of reading, condensing, reading, regurgitating and then submitting a rather involved report into that Forum. It was a whole week of intensive online work that was quite hard for me in concentration. It seemed that the sysop wanted to bock-the-system and ignore the condition of the software company he was using for paying the use of the Forum with by their advertising. He pushed (against their will) the secular advertising banner so far down the front page that it was possible to get it almost unnoticed. The company noticed and pulled the plug on him. The whole software crashed. Every message posted by all and everybody got lost. He had to open up anew from the start again. It crashed again because of a technical mistake he made and he had to open up a third time. I was very discouraged having lost all the condensation of the events of Toronto I made. With a heart of dismay I went back to the sources on the General Conference website to save at least the pictures they posted. Before they either got taken down or put in some archive I couldn't find again. I was a novice at dowloading pictures. I made the mistake of not taking note of who made the pics. I want to apologize to those ones for not being able to give them credit. If some of you know more of the subject of any of the pics you see in the Toronto Album please give the name of the person, or the country represented of the subject, or your own additional comment what you experienced as anecdote relating to the picture. Turmeric thanks Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted June 18, 2005 Moderators Posted June 18, 2005 That is a very sad story, Turmeric. I have had similar experiences, losing irreplaceable material, and have learned through all that how good it is to make backup copies of everything. LD Quote LD
Michelle Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 Perhaps I haven't noticed it in the small print, but I can't figure out how to edit a title or description once I've downloaded a picture. Long story, but either I need to explain or delete and I can't figure out how to do either one. Can someone write an Editing for Dummies post for me, please? Thanks. Michelle Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted June 25, 2005 Moderators Posted June 25, 2005 Click on the photo. Look at the boxes below the photo, and there you will see "Admin Options: Edit photo" - there you will have all you need. That should do it. LynnDel Quote LD

Moderators Bravus Posted June 25, 2005 Author Moderators Posted June 25, 2005 G'day Stan I spoke too soon: I was messing with the video stuff for a while but had some driver/codec issues, then just ran out of time and had to come to Califronia... Probably won't be able to play with video again until I get home in early July now... Quote Truth is important
Michelle Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 LynnDel--I don't see any admin options. When I'm looking at the picture with any buttons at all showing, they are: Add to Favorites · Post a Comment · Report Photo · Print View · Send as e-Card · Receive Email Updates When I click on the picture from this screen, I get a blown-up photo with no options at all. Maybe because I use IE? M Quote
