If women don't like the way men discuss theology - let me again say that they need to lead by example and bring their preference to the table.

I am opposed to segregation. I think that both sexes need to learn to get along. I also believe that each sex has something that the other sex could learn and therefore they need to be integrated.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

I agree Woody, except for the fact that there are even less men posting here. If you are a person of either gender and don't want to fight, Theological is not really the place for you any more.

Good point. It has been said that if two people think exactly alike then one of them isn't necessary. Or start a few more!!

Exactly Woody, let the women learn how to be quiet during any theological discussion.

I don't get that part.OW? Take a man, like me, who knows and understands everything about the Bible. Why would I make it perfectly clear to only women of my obvious spiritual superiority? I've been trying to put down the men equally.Don't take it personally.

Being the smarty pants I am, when my wife was pregnant last time she was cooking supper one night. I kindly offered to take off her socks for her so she could be a proper woman. I failed to notice the big knife she had in her hand at the time..........

Not to fear,G.B is considering banning BIG knives as that is now the preferred method of homicides.

You are probably lucky you were not wearing your supper as a hat after that

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

Thats not the first time I have decided to make a psuedo chauvenistic comment while she was in the kitchen with a knife. I have the worst timing. Thankfully for me she knows its a joke.

I was saved by the fact that I was willing to tie up her shoes for her, in public, whilst she was in said condition.

You sound like a good man.You have no idea how great the distance can be or how hard it is to get there in "said condition" giggle

I am Bonnie... simply awesome bwink

But back on track, I don't even think its so much a matter of male and female, its a matter of showing respect. Something probably most (including myself) could be more cognitive of. I think all of us in the end walk our own path to the truth. Some do it together under the umbrella of a religion, some don't. But I think we are all after the same thing - the truth. I don't think it should be all that hard to respect that while we may not understand everybody elses point of view ( I really don't get the Christian one) it is the point of view that they have arrived at through their own experience. That is not to say that we can't disagree, but it can be done with dignity and respect.

Jesus didn't fight but taught the Truth. That is what we must do. His Word is Truth, let's just stick to being teachers and discusions of that.

We work on our differences in brotherly love if we are His, Christians. Let's do it!

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

I arrived at being a Christian from having no faith in anything or anyone and before that studying and practicing Pagan style.

Is that what we want here- for the female members to leave the theology section and/or the board altogether?

Absolutely not.

Theological Townhall has really become the playground of 5 or 6 people. But its mostly a bully mentality with no respect shown at all. While I applaud the couple women that do step up and try to involve themselves in it I can't see why many would as most of the 5 or 6 people that dominate this section are total chauvinists as well as bullies.

Don't mince your words, brother - tell us how you really feel!

Seriously - you are absolutely correct - I couldn't agree with you more. It's half the reason that I'm not on as much as i used to be.

So you don't think it's a gender issue, then?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Not really. It is a matter of certain cyberbullies who hijack any thread that is treading on conservative and traditional SDA culture and belief systems. It's like MT said - a lot of men are leaving those sections, too; cuz they are weary of the judgement, intimidation, and condemnation.

Well, maybe a little gender-related. Men have a greater need to exhibit their testosterone occasionally than women do.

One of my sons did make the comment tho that if we drafted women as Israel did for a time, half the women at any given time would have PMS and that could make short work of a war.

Except that when women live and work together in a closed environment (e.g. army barracks), their monthly cycles tend to become synchronised.

Thus, at certain times of the month, ALL of the female soldiers would be in a state of PMS.

Now that could lead to some interesting strategic decisions as to the timing of deployment of the female defence force personnel.

that could be the war to end all wars.

Makes me think of some of the ancient legends about armies of fearsome female warriors - such as the Amazons, Boadicea and her women, some of the mythical Celtic heroines, etc.

Maybe there is a grain of truth in some of these accounts.
