Raising a boy to manhood

This morning, I got a call from a brother' who started tearing up halfway through.

Apparently, I gave him my card after one of my book displays last December, along with a free copy of Life Lessons since he really couldn't afford to buy. He was trying to explain to me that some of the things I discussed in the book, no-one had ever taken the time to teach him- you see he is trying to grow up without a father. I said "I know, I grew up in a single parent household and so can you. The truth is, it gets easier, and you can either be a STRONGER man or a WEAKER man because of it."

Our brief conversation turned into a 20 minute Training session.

I asked him if I could use part of his story to encourage supporters and he said YES!!!

He really wants to go to college, but gave up last year after not being able to see a way to make it happen. This year he'll reapply himself to that goal, and I will help him connect to a Literature Evangelism Scholarship Program where he can earn a scholarship for college.

Can occur by pregnancy and it can occur by adoption.

I work with a single parent woman who has adopted both children.

You mean, adoption, don't you? Adaptation is good for many things, though.

how did this thread move from from raising a boy to manhood, to La Sierra 'professor' urges people to repent of heterosexuality, and then to a discussion of adoption by single adults.

just idly wondering.
