Seeing the destruction, brings back memories. I have to tell you that as I watched the drama unfold, clip by clip, I remembered wonderful days in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area ... the good times. And, when I saw the areas where some beautiful homes in which I have been entertained destroyed, I wondered about the probability of their being rebuilt. Thinking about the time when it would be possible return. When a friend who is a "native" telephoned this week and sadly said, "We'll never be able to enjoy The Quarter" again. I told her that I knew it would never be the same, that it would be newer, safer and better. How can we not give courage and hope to those who have lost a big piece or their life? If, I, as an ordinary person had those thoughts why wouldn't GWB? Is it wrong to remember past good memories and share hope and probability of a brighter new future?
